Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

-Author’s Note-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

Thankfully, Aisling heard Joshua, he was actually pretty close.

"Joshua..." she called, and some of the dolls began backing off and fadeing as a frimilar golden light ellumated from Aisling's keyhole, helping her gain some strength from the blood-sucking dolls. Sooner or later, the dolls were gone and Aisling slumped to the wall.

"Joshua!" she called, however a bit more quieter.

The girl's dolls were vanishing because of how the bibliotheca was reacting in Aisling's body...it was trying to heal her and lead Joshua to her.

I continued searching through the hallway, before seeing one doll trudge under a door before fading. I quickly opened the door, seeing and running to Aisling in a tearful hug. "Aisling! Are you okay?!" I asked quickly. I held the key clenched in my hand, in the other hand giving Aisling the small container of the remaining Panacea. "Are you hurt, Aisling?! I thought...I thought you were gone..."

  • Author

Aisling grabbed Joshua in a hug after his last statement.

"Gone? I'd find you again. I promise I won't leave yet." she said with a small releaved smile.

"Joshua...forget about the Panacea right now...I grant you permission to open the bibliotheca." Aisling said seriously, looking at Joshua and placing the Panacea on the ground beside her.

I smiled faintly with Aisling's first statement. But the phantom's words still raced through my mind. DID I really love her? Or not...? Either way though, I had to keep her safe as possible. I couldn't rest without that fact. I picked up the key and slowly read: I ask of thee, art thou mankind?

  • Author

"Nay...I am the World. I am the Lost World! Holder of 33,333 Phantom Books. I grant you the gateway to truth!" Aisling seemed to say.

The keyhole in her side ripped open, causing Aisling to wince sharply in the pain from the bibliotheca opening. After Joshua reached into the Archives, he receaved one book. Titled "Two-sided". It looked rather old, and it was rather thin.

Aisling leaned against the wall, clenching onto the Panacea bottle, waiting for Joshua.

I glanced at Aisling for a few moments. I could never get over the fact that using the Bibliotheca granted her a few moments of pain. Regardless, I couldn't do anything. You can bring a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. That statement applied here easily. Except the horse was Aisling, figuratively, of course, she didn't have any horse-like features that'd make the statement literal. Anyway, the water would be the Panacea. She chose for it to be used at a later time, more important I suppose. I opened up the half-white, half-black book. Split right down the middle in color, but not from the cover like you'd expect. Yes, the front was white and the back cover was black, but at the center page, the page colors split from white paper and black text to black paper and white text. It was actually pretty smooth, and looked nice. "I look out to the horizon. A sunset.

A beautifully cruel world, I've met.

Yet, I choose not to fret.

No, I am forever in it's debt. And never will I forget.

It has kept me safe for oh so long,

Never did it do me right or wrong.

It's pleasant and adjourn.

With but no reason to need and mourn.

I look out to dawn,

Still giving my faint yawn,

Smiling. Smiling even warmer than the sun.

My happiness...it had a good run.

Just looking out into the river bank,

I think even as my eyes go blank:

'Just one jump. Soon I will have sank.'

'Then I'll be gone. Easy as a prank.'

I look out to dusk.

The emptiness inside me, of a husk,

I wonder: 'why does everyone else know how?'

'How to be happy...that knowledge is gone from me now.'

At the river bank, I jump.

I lose my heart's pump.

I've finally hidden my sorrows with a mere shun.

My sorrows are gone too. Away from even the sun.

My story is lost and abandoned.

Like me, everything is two-sided.

The few remaining dolls vanished from existence, and the demon within the girl elsewhere was banished. It went to the Phantom Book "Two-Sided", ratger than the one that had caused this mess, wherever and whatever it was. The girl returned to consciousness, but she was in a seperate place, just a few doors down from this room. Tired but relieved, I lied down against the wall beside Aisling.

(That poem :'c )

Aisling gave a slight smile at Joshua, handing him the Panacea without another word.

"It needs to be saved for when one of us is close to death...I'll be okay hopefully." She said.

Without warning, Aisling hugged Joshua.

"Sorry that we keep getting split away from each other....are you okay?" She asked.

(It's easier to write poetry off the top of my head than a quick and brief story >p<)

I took the Panacea and put it away, sitting on my knees, somehow still tired. We hadn't even found the Phantom Book that caused this yet. "...It's not your fault, Aisling. It couldn't...it can't be helped." I said a tad quietly, as if it was just a loud whisper to Aisling. "But I'm fine. The girl didn't do anything to me... or, at least nothing to physically hurt me." I said, maybe a bit too truthfully. "I'm just worried for you. ...I heard clawing. Are you okay?"

  • Author

"Clawing? More like sucking my blood...I don't want to describe it...I just have a few cuts and am a bit dizzy, but I'm okay. Thank you Joshua..." Aisling said, bowing her head a bit.

Aisling very suddenly became rather overprotective.

"What did she say Joshua?" She asked.

"You're welcome then, I suppose...." I said. I held Two-Sided, and glanced around for the book that caused this, whatever it was. I rubbed my eye and leaned against the wall for a few moments. Closing my eyes, I immediately tensed up after Aisling's question. "Oh...she said...well,..." I didn't really know what to say. And I began to blush too. "Well, nothing of your particular interest!" I said, almost smacking myself after.

  • Author

(Haha...poor Joshua....he is about to meet the dark/rather seductive side of Aisling...)

"Your blushing Joshua...obviously she said something that is hard to admit or you just don't know how to admit whatever she lured you into thinking...or even believing." Aisling said, her voice darkening some.

"Tell me Joshua...or I'll never get over what you're trying to hide." She said.

(Oh jeez, story of my life, Joshua.)

I quickly shook my head 'no', of I said it to anyone, I don't think it'd be Aisling of all people. "N-no, I can't say it...!" I said quickly, looking down to the floor, trying to hide myself from turning even more red. I looked a little up, but in the opposite direction of Aisling, still hiding myself. I backed up a bit, clumsily hitting my head against the hollow wall.

  • Author

Aisling smirked a bit, grabbing onto Joshua's shoulders, she pulled him back rather close to her.

"You're blushing...there is not way you can hide it Joshua." She said.

Aisling smiled, her head now leveled with Joshua's ear.

"You can't say what Joshua? Why can't you even tell you're Biblioprincess? I feel betrayed..." She said, complaining childishly a bit.

I tensed up like a rock, even huddling my arms closer to myself. My face was completely red at this point, sticking out from my blonde hair and blue eyes. "N-no...s-sorry...Aisling. I...CAN tell you, but... I don't really waa-ant to." I said, quickly feeling my neck as my voice cracked mid-sentence...somehow. I didn't want to squirm out from Aisling because she might be a bit sadder, like she was already dramatizing. Instead, I stayed. In my mind, I was banging it against a wall repeatedly. It was a brick wall imagined.

  • Author

(Lol...why do I love perstering people like this? Roleplay characters and real people....)

Aisling brought Joshua a bit closer, turning her head away rather snappishly. She looked down at the stunned Joshua, his face was entirely red and it was just absolutely hilarious, however she didn't laugh, only smiled slightly.

"Why do you not want to tell me Joshua...? I don't bite...pleaaassseeee? I'm not going to yell at you or get mad at you." Aisling said.

She was not going to stop this intriguing torture until she got a good answer...and Joshua probably knew she wasn't going to stop either.

(Why is she being so persistenttt?!) I thought frantically. I can't hide anything any longer. I don't know why! Aisling won't stop...I know she won't. I glanced at the Panacea off to the side. (I think that has a tad of alcohol. Maybe it can get me drunk...that'd make things easier right now, probably.) I thought. I would think of anything now, my head was spinning and my heart was racing. Who knows, maybe I'd have a heart attack or stroke. Something! I cleared my throat, I couldn't blush any more than I already was. "She was just telling me...that...that, um...iloveyou." I said, intentionally uttering the last three words quickly and quietly. I basically died inside.

  • Author

"Hmm?" Aisling asked.

Her grip on Joshua loosened and her face turned rather red. Silence fell over again.

"Really—Joshua?" she asked, stuttering a bit.

"I—I might be the same Joshua...you've protected me so much...and been so loyal...I guess that that just happens Joshua...and it's okay..." Aislimg said, grabbing Joshua and hugging him again.

"It gives you a bit of relief...doesn't it?" she asked, a soft smile on her face.

"Just kill me now, please." I dramatized. I dropped myself to the floor and huddled my legs and arms together. After a slow and deep sigh, I sat back up, rubbing my eye. "I...don't even know, Aisling. You protect me...you comfort me...you've even saved me, more than once. But...I don't know what love is like, or anything." I said rather quietly. Louder than before though, enough for Aisling to hear. My redness slowly faded, my skin was paler than usual though, for the same reason as why I turned red. If blushing was an earthquake, I guess the paleness would be considered an aftershock. "I guess so...." I replied to Aisling's last statement. I couldn't think of anything else to say, and just remained in the quietude and silence.

  • Author

"No way I'm killing you..." Aisling said, laughing a bit.

She stood up, pulling Joshua up with her and she began walking in search for the little girl whom was no longer possessed.

"It's okay If we don't know stuff...you had no idea about the bibliotheca before, and you actually know a lot more then Anthea and probably Hiro does..." Aisling stated, almost bluntly.

I followed Aisling calmly, but still embarrassed from just a few moments ago. I shot my eyes to different places, looking around. It wasn't a big house. I yawned as Aisling spoke. "I guess so, Aisling, but this is...something different...." I mumbled. I didn't really want to continue the conversation, but it raced through my mind, almost all I could think about right now.

  • Author

"Yes...I suppose you are right....we'll shut up now..." Aisling said, a bit lost in thought.

Soon, a door flew open in front of them, opened by none other than the little girl. Aisling lept back to avoid being hit. The girl simply stared at the two before handing Joshua a small black covered and then walking away.

"We...either we scared her to death or we erased her memory..." Aisling mummered as soon as the girl left.

"The Book of Fraud...I'll have to hold onto that one...my question is how she got this certain Phantom Book out of all of the other ones..." She said, looking down at Joshua and the rather small phantom book.

"Hmm?" I asked Aisling. "How come you want to keep the Book of Fraud?" I asked with a lighter voice. I held the Phantom Book, glancing away as the girl left without a word. I gave a soft sigh as well, just from not understanding. At the same time, though, I yawned. "I think she remembers...but she's probably scared. I would be." I remarked rather quietly, in reference to the previously possessed little girl. "I don't think it's too special to get a hold of a certain Phantom Book. I mean, even someone like Isaac, who's in league with Germany got one. But...I don't know."

  • Author

"Because I haven't read it..." Aisling complaint.

She was silent again, letting Joshua speak.

"You're still tired, aren't you?" She asked, tilting her head a bit.

(Short post.........)

"Oh, yeah...sorry...." I apologized. I sat down on the floor, trying to keep my eyes from weighing down. "Well...I'm almost always at least a little tired, but right now...yeah, I'm still tired." I told Aisling. But still, I had my mind curious as always. Where WOULD we go, and where would we sleep?

  • Author

Aisling sighed as Joshua sat down, that only made her job of actually finding them a place to sleep harder.

She began opening the doors, just either offices, or some other nonsense room until finally she found the guest bedroom. Of course...the classic double bed like in every guest bedroom. Aisling sighed. She wasn't sleeping somewhere else and she wasn't making Joshua sleep somewhere else.

"Come on Joshua..." she called, awaiting at the door for him.
