Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

(So I went around asking everyone today: "does it hurt worse when your shot or when someone pulls a bullet out if you"...the answer was....when they pull the bullet out of you...and I was like: WHAT H

I simply nodded, somewhat cooperatively. "O-okay, Aisling...." I said. "...I'll try...." Barely muttering as usual, I still shivered, shook, and trembled. I didn't see anyone else anymore...but I could still...remember it all. It was etched in my mind, I saw it everywhere even though I knew they weren't. "Just...don't cry. Please...." I murmured very quietly, more so than before. (We're here, again...at the Bibliotheca....)Margaret drove down the streets with her motorcycle, Anthea just cruising in the sidecar. Only about two blocks away from where Margaret was sure Kon to Kuro was at, the motorcycle slowed down. Margaret let her foot loose off the pedal, turning towards the sidewalk and eventually stopping at an apparently old building. It still seemed to be a running business building, but it was 'CLOSED' at the time for being so late at night. Margaret looked directly at Anthea with a sigh. "Anthea...I'm still going to get them, but stay here. I don't know what'll be waiting for us but that's where the Germans are. Stay here...I'll come back."

Aisling gave a small nod, whiping the tears from her eyes.

She let go of Joshua, however still holding onto his hand.

"I wish to contact the Golden and Scarlet Libraries." she said to what seemed nothing. Two books appeared in her hands.

One gold, the other red. She opened the pages, An urget letter requesting help was written down automatically due to Aisling's thoughts. In a second, both of the notes turned into nothing but navy specks, shooting off into different directions and the books disappeared.

"We'll be sent back soon..." she said a bit sadly.

Anthea stood up in protest.

"No. I just recived a message from the bibliotheca...I'm coming with you." she snapped.

Hiro's eyes shot open from the sleep she'd been in. She stood up quickly. Hiro had recived the message. She loudly banged on Dante's door.

"Dante! Torrin got caught!" she yelled.

I looked up into nothing as well. With nothing much to do for now in the Bibliotheca, I just dazed off-- staring over into the blueness of this world. It never seemed to end, yet, it had to. Maybe. I watched as the books appeared in front of Aisling only to soon fly off. I turned my gaze to the ground soon too, being seemingly watery, I took my hand down, pressing on the waving ground as it impacted. Pushing it down, it seemed to not budge, like ground, but unlike water. It still felt...like water though. It was hard to explain, but I couldn't submerge my hand in or even get wet at all. With a sigh, I looked back up to Aisling. "...I don't know...if I want to leave." I said aloud.Margaret ignited the engine again and quickly drove, the engine was already warm enough for nit to be alright to keep driving after only such a short stop. She accelerated quickly, getting Anthea to lose her standing balance and fall back on her seat. Margaret looked at her for a split second before turning away, "If you wanted to stay, you should've sat down still." She said with a scoff. "Get in any trouble and there's no promises that I'll come and get you back." Margaret ordered coldly, still driving ahead. It wasn't far from here.Dante's eyes widened a bit at the same time his door nearly broke open from Hiro's banging. Right about to scold or yell at her for doing so, Dante heard her but kept his calm persona and demeanor. "Aisling and Joshua were caught? You mean by the Germans?" Dante asked, opening the door at only a moderate pace. He calmly walked down the stairs holding onto Hiro's hands, even his steps were light and carefully calm. But there was fire in his eyes. "Then I suppose we should go off and retrieve them again. I expect Margaret and Anthea there as well, just like Isaac's." Dante's eyes reverted to their slanted and serious look, "Just like Isaac's." He repeated. "I'm sure at least one of the two is in a melancholic disposition, so we shall hurry. We'll hinder the Germans there of their will to carry out the will and allegiance to the Nazi's." Dante smirked.

"I don't want to leave myself..." Aisling said quietly, a small smile on her face.

"Thank you Margaret~" Anthea chimed, cheerfully holding onto Usagi.

"Do you think we'll be able to get them out?" she asked.

Hiro nodded, grabbing her pistol.

"Dante...will they probably have to stay here again?" she asked.

Dante took his own gun and kept his knife hidden within the handle of it, sheathed into the gun itself. "Come, Hiro." He said as usual, opening the grand doors beyond the foyer and walking outside before Hiro. He closed the door, only to open the gates and close them as well. He walked off calmly as ever to the vehicle and opened Hiro's side before walking to his. "I'd bet Margaret's already almost there. There would be no need to rush, but we shouldn't bide our time, either." Dante said a bit contradicting of himself, but ignited the engine anyway.Margaret and Anthea were already in sight of the place where the Germans kept Aisling and Joshua. The sadness and death, the bloodshed could be felt as a presence from where they were already. "Hold on tight, Anthea. We're doing this in a way that we'll be heard but they'll catch up to us when it's already too late." Margaret grinned."Well...I guess we don't have a choice. We're going back either way...to our world, with the Germans...the murderers...the phantom books...." I uttered, every word getting quieter and quieter, shedding one tear after. I didn't want to go back. I never wanted to go back again...Aisling was the only reason I could go at all. "Why CAN'T we have a choice? Everyone's always trying to kill us! Or separate us! I don't want to go back, Aisling...!" I nearly yelled. It was futile though, and I knew it. "The world isn't fair...why can't it be fair...? I don't understand it...."

By the time Joshua said his last sentence, the two were back in the real world, in the suffering, in the darkness, on the hard concrete again, them still holding each other tightly.

"The Bibliotheca has a strict amount of time we're allowed to stay there..." she muttered, fear tracing over her again.

Anthea held onto her axe, Usagi, and the sidecar tightly.

"Yay~ Breaking into a Holocaust Camp!" she exclaimed.

"If I receive another message, we'll have to speed up..." Hiro sighed, staring out the window.

"Of course, Hiro." Dante told Hiro. They drove towards the essence of Kon to Kuro no Yomihime. Wouldn't take long.

Before I could say anything, I still held Aisling with Matthew and Elizabeth above us, but looked up at the thin ceiling. It was dirty and smelled but... "Aisling...do you hear...a motor?"

Margaret grinned. She lifted the motorcycle almost ninety degrees up, riding for a few seconds up a sloped garbage disposal sloping onto the flat wall as they reached the end, going down atop the building's roof with her motorcycle. She quickly jumped off with her weapons and Anthea, leaving the engine running. "Stay close!" She ordered, not refering to Anthea by her name in this of all places. She took her weapons and blasted open a hole in the ceiling, popping it open and to the floor with her scythe's blunt end as she reloaded. Everyone was alarmed by now, as Margaret jumped down the ceiling and blasted bullets through the cells' locks, slashing the locks that remained before she had to reload again. This building's cells were all broken of the locks and doors so many people ran out as quickly as possible, with every guard coming the opposite way to Margaret.

Aisling gave a nod, a small smile on her face.

"Two recived our message..." she said.

Aisling still held onto Joshua, standing up carefully out of the cell. She almost fell straight to her knees, the tears the she shed left her with not much strength. Elizabeth and Matthew fallowed behind us.

"Joshua...should we use the bibliotheca, or not?" Aisling asked him quietly, Joshua was in her arms.

She was stopped by a frimilar face who just slaughtered a guard.

"Hey! Hurry up! Fallow me!" Anthea called from a short distance.

Aisling quickly made her way to Anthea.

"You guys look terrible..." she snapped.

"But not as bad as the others..." Anthea continued.

Aisling gave a slight nod. Anthea slipped two knives in each of there hands.

"We need to let her know we're okay..." Anthea said, reffering to Margaret.

Aisling gave a small nod, hesitating to even hold thr knives.

"I came prepared." Margaret's grin curved even more. Her guns split in two except for a latch that connefted them together. She loaded in larger red bullet shells in her guns, flipping them back up and firing. Aboit eight people fell at once— or sixteen, eight on each side. Shotgun shells. "Damn, I love these!" She exclaimed. Reverting her guns to scythes she took a breath. "......Reaper, reaper, that's what people call me, why?~" Margaret sang Philistine for the first time in a while. "~'Cause they all die" when I sing I end their lives~" Margaret continued singing, slashing and slicing the Germans as the victims escaped. The live ones, at least. Margaret looked at Anthea and motioned her with her head tilting to come and hurry. "~You act as though payback makes you a noble man, is that a fact? Well, you're a goddamn Philistine!"

  • Author

Anthea quickly started making her way over to Margaret, slicing down anyone in her path. Aisling took the knives out of Joshua's hands, throwing them at a group of guards carelessly. She desperately covered Joshua's eyes with her collarbone, him now pressing onto her for dear life.

"Joshua...listen to me...cover your ears and eyes..." Aisling said, the two siblings fallowed behind her. Soon enough, the five made it to Margaret.

I took heed of Aisling without question. I hated to see people die, to hear them die. I covered my ears as my eyes were already shrouded from being close enough to Aisling. The sound was tuned down, but I could still easily hear it past my hands. I could hear the yells of the people who had previously held others in such deathly circumstances. I felt no sympathy for them, but instead, pity. The insanity I experienced earlier wasn't gone, though...it just needed to be triggered again. More people kept dying...right behind me! They were dying! And I knew the killer! My eyes were tearing up past my eyelids, I could feel then urge to bulge and twitch. My body shook again...I didn't want it to...

Margaret quickly shot more of the shotgun shells killing off or injuring many guards at the same time. She then used one scythe to latch onto the hole she made and swing up on it. "Come on!" She yelled to Aisling and the others, pulling them up two at a time.

Once Joshua, Aisling, Anthea, Matthew, and Elizabeth were semi-safe, all looked at Margaret for further instruction, all but Aisling and Joshua.

"Joshua...we're going to get out of here...It's okay....you're by my side now...calm down..." She said quietly to him.

((Sodom is tired...Good Night ι(=ω=ˇι) ))

I already began breathing— or, panting heavily. I just couldn't take much anymore! How could I!? How did everyone else handle everything!?

Margaret began sorting everyone out on her still-running motorcycle. "Damn, we don't have much space!" Margaret sat in her driving seat with Anthea and Aisling both behind her as well. "Hang on for your damn lives...!" She ordered. Elizabeth, Matthew, and Joshua were all clumped together in the sidecar, Joshua shivering as before, glaring out down at the ground. (Should I jump....?) He thought to himself a bit crazily. Margaret quickly drove off the roof of the building heading away from this damn place. A bunch of people had already escaped, but a few were shot down before they could make it. The motorcycle flew off the building and landed, bouncing a few times before making it onto the next street. "You two better not get into anymore trou—" Margaret stopped. Three bangs echoed throughout the street. The motorcycle stopped and fell as Margaret's foot flailed loosely, her arms bleeding. The other two bullets hit both Joshua and Matthew without miss.

"This went duller than I anticipated. Fun, nevertheless." Isaac grinnes, twirling a revolver throughout his finger.

  • Author

"Joshua!" Aisling yelled, managing to break free of the fallen motorcycle.

"Hiro...hurry up!! Isaac is here...Margaret is injured, Joshua and another boy have been shot..." Aisling thought, thankfully, this message would reach the third Biblioprincess.

Anthea was already on her feet, her axe gripped in her hand.

"Isaac! What to you want?!" she yelled.

Elizabeth was already clutching onto her brother for fearful dear life.

Aisling already had Joshua in her arms.

"Joshua...use the Bibliotheca if you wish..." she said quietly.

Hiro's head snapped to Dante.

"Floor it Dante. Three people are shot, and two of them are Keykeepers. Isaac is there." she said with a smirk.

Dante 'floored it' as Hiro said but still kept a calm expression. "Ah, Isaac's there already? I suppose I was right this whole time, but I didn't think he'd arrive so quickly." Dante murmured, rubbing his chin. "I suppose we should hurry though, however, judging by the events taking place at our last encounter with Isaac, he surely is not targeting Aisling and Joshua. At least, not for their deaths. What DOES he seek?"

"Goddamn it...." Margaret grumbled. With her arm shot, she couldn't use her weapon or drive, so she was useless at this point. "What do I want? My, I wouldn't want to spoil you. But I'm here to take a chance, I honestly believe you'll all escape once Dante shows up, so I'll just do myself a favor and eliminate the extras in the equation." Isaac grinned. He took his revolver, firing twice more— each hitting their targets. Elizabeth and Matthew. "They're unnecessary additions, anyway. As for the threats...Dante's the only one. You two ladies won't fend off against me, for sure. And the Bibliotheca will take too much time. Margaret's the only other threat here." Isaac shot again to Margaret.

I panted and trembled much more now. "I- I can't, Aisling. He'll...he'll shoot us...." I mumbled, almost cradling myself as he kept shooting.

"Isaac!" Anthea snapped, throwing her axe with a strong hand straight at Isaac. She managed to hit him with the blade.

"Stop killing my keykeeper!!" she yelled.

Aisling stared at Anthea, with Joshua in her arms. She wasn't going to use the Bibliotheca for his sake.

If Margaret was killed, Anthea would die.

Elizabeth fell into Matthew's arms. After a couple of seconds with the little girl's breath being shaky, her body fell limp on her brother.

"Elizabeth!" Matthew exclaimed, grabbing onto his dead sister.

Aisling's head snapped towards Matthew.

"Your sister isn't the only one who's going to die..." she said quietly, pointing to his gunshot wound.

"Persistence is a virtue." Isaac pointed his gun down again. "Said no one." Isaac fired again. "Man, isn't he a persistent fellow?" Isaac had shot Matthew again, now pointing it to Margaret and pulling the tricker.

...

...

...

*click* It made nothing. Isaac sighed, flipping up the revolver and placing more bullets in it. "A minor setba—" Margaret pulled the trigger of her own gun now, barely. The bullet missed, Margaret didn't have the strength to aim. But Isaac fell, cold and limp— somehow. A clatter of Dante's bullet ringed. Despite him being shot in a non-fatal area, Isaac fell unconscious regardlessly, Dante always did have his bullets made of gold.

"It appears even Margaret's taken a fall." Dante smirked. He walked out and passed by the unconscious Isaac, bringing his gun back within his robe. "You all look hurt. Some more than others...." Dante had his glare turn down to Matthew and Elizabeth.

Matthew soon fell back, dead with his sister.

Aisling looked imminently away, back at Joshua then as Margaret fired, then Dante at the same time.

"Ah, Kon to Kuro got in trouble again~" Hiro mocked.

Aisling's eyes transferred to Dante, giving a small smile at the two.

"Thank you..." She muttered.

"You're welcome, again, Aisling." Dante said to her calmly. "We shouldn't stay here, the Germans are bound to be headed here. Aisling, take Joshua in the vehicle. He was shot too." Dante told her, walking past her soon and taking Margaret's weapons. He held them both in his left hand and knelt down for a few moments, grabbing Margaret and taking her to the vehicle as well. "What the f*ck!?" She complaint. She wasn't all too heavy actually, but she conflicted Dante like a child. "Let go of me, you da—" "You're injured, Margaret. You cannot drive, and so, I'm afraid the motorcycle will be soon taken by the Germans." Dante grinned and motioned Hiro and Anthea to step into the automobile as well. "Get me my motorcycle you ass! And let—" "Too late, Margaret." Dante interrupted Margaret again, having her in the seat before Anthea. "I'm afraid the other two have already had their resignations accounted for, Aisling. Those two are gone." Dante said. He kept Margaret's weapons so as she wouldn't cause any more problems...major problems at least. Dante already drove ahead. Joshua was still trembling, seeing things again. "Aisling, another thing: what happened to Joshua there? He seems traumatized. Clearly emotionally and mentally unstable."

  • Author

"We were in a holocaust camp, do you think he'd be mentally stable?" Aisling asked, a bit rudely.

She sat straight down beside Hiro, Anthea to her right, Hiro to her left. Joshua still in Aisling's arms.

"Where are we going?" Anthea asked, starting to play around with Usagi again.

Hiro looked sharply at Margaret, giving her the death-glare of a life time.

Aisling covered Joshua's wound, still keeping him close to her.

"If you haven't Joshua, you can open your eyes now. It's okay." She said quietly.

Dante death-glared Aisling now. Both his eyes shot straight through Aisling, his red eye looking more cruel though. A blue eye was normal for people. A red one wasn't, even though he had heterochromia iridium, a red eye is a strange phenomenon. The red eye was the broken one, yet it shot through like a sun. Dante's response was more calm and easygoing than his glare though, as he turned to face the road. "No, Aisling, I don't expect him to be stable. I'm just surprised that you aren't like how he is. He may be more emotional, but he did go through the same things as you, correct?" Dante asked Aisling. As Dante spoke to her, Margaret was busy gazing into the broken eyes of Hiro too, why would she be staring at her like that? Still, she gave a glare just as cruel, if not a bit more. Dante spoke up again, "You and Margaret are coming with the rest of us for now. There's a plethora of rooms to stay in, and I suppose Aisling and Joshua already have their room there too." "There's NO way that I'm staying under the same roof as you--" "Then you'll die. Go anywhere else and you'll die! Everyone'll die eventually, but you'll die sooner then." Margaret was interrupted again. This time it was Joshua who spoke, a demented smile crossing his face when he said it, and a melancholic frown after.

  • Author

Aisling's head tilted down to Joshua, her eyes no longer visible due to the shadow her hair caused. Behind the shadow, her eyes were wide and tearful. Dante was right. She had been through everything Joshua had been through. A distorted girn made its way on her face.

"Joshua is right." her voice came out quietly, and darkly.

Anthea looked at Aisling, tilting her head and holding up Usagi like a puppet.

"Aisling? Are you okay?" she asked, her voice a bit higher and moving Usagi like a puppet as she spoke.

"Woooww....the Golden Library suddenly turns into a ventriloquist..." Hiro snapped.

"Well you're the one with a messed up eye. A clock? How do you manage that?" Anthea said rudely.

"It's none of your business Anthea." Hiro snapped.

Aisling and I were both in our demented, unstable states. (Oh, h-hey, Aisling's like us now too, huh?) I thought, looking to what appeared to be Matthew and Elizabeth, still there. I didn't know they died, I didn't THINK they died. They were here to me-- and that's all that mattered in their cases. "My, that escalated quickly." Dante remarked, glaring at Aisling for a few moments. "What the Hell is wrong with everyone?" Margaret complaint, hitting her head against the window as she clutched her arm wound. Joshua's was still being pressured down against Aisling, but there was still blood seeping. "You three are the only other sane ones right now, and you're all arguing against one another...." Dante muttered, still driving at around sixty miles an hour. "H-hey, everyone, I'm boooored." I complaint with a sigh. "I'm gonna go somewhere else to have fun...." I muttered again. My head tilted off to the side and I reached past Hiro and Margaret, opening the door as it swung open with the car speeding down. I already tried heading out the door before Margaret shoved me back and reached put to close the door. "Are you f*cking insane?" She yelled at me, Dante speaking up again, "Everyone calm down, and yes, Margaret, he is insane right now."

Aisling gripped onto Joshua one more.

"You're seriously trying to kill yourself? Do you want me dead?" Aisling asked.

"Dante! Does your house have a library?! Margaret never let's me buy a book! I want to read a fairytale or something!" Anthea disrupted.

"Are we almost there so I can get rid of these idiots...?" Hiro asked, about to slap Athea upside the face.

"Shut up!" Margaret replied to Dante, "Damn, smart ass!" She exclaimed. "I'm sorry, Aisling!" My mood shifted again into more grief and sorrow for anything I did. "I'm sorry for everything: for talking about brothels, for having to always be saved by you, for everything!" I exclaimed, gripping onto Aisling tightly. "Yes, Anthea, I have several library rooms, actually. Just make sure to find the English one unless you understand Enochian or Latin." Dante uttered quietly to Anthea, barely hearable past all the madness. "Anthea, you never even ASK for a book any more!" Margaret exclaimed again. "Why do I see things no one else does...?" I asked myself again, bobbing my head slowly.
"Don't be rude, Hiro."
"I'm ALWAYS buying you food and renting someplace, we barely have enough money to do just that! And now some damn Nazi's have my motorcycle!"
"We're almost there, anyways, calm down, everyone."
"I got shot in the arm, here!"
"As did Joshua, and he's eleven. That's not what even he's complaining about, please be quiet until we get there, Margaret."
"I'll shoot that grin off your face, Dante!"
"But I have your weapons with me and you can barely shoot."
"Shut up!"
