Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

Aisling gave a small laugh, petting Joshua's head a bit.

"Sorry I had to get you up..." she said, looking down at Joshua.

"Anyway I'm going to get dressed." Aisling said, grabbing the clothes she had found before waking up Joshua.

She ran off to the bathroom to get dressed without a word.

Anthea sighed.

"Good luck with that Margaret." she snapped, walking away.

I picked my clothes and yawned, "It's okay, Aisling. Why do we all have to get up now?" I asked her, until she got up and left to the bathroom to change. I just sat in wait for now, leaning against my bed and rubbing my right eye. My clothes had a grey and gray color scheme, with a bit of white. My shoes, collar, and gloves were still white, as my socks were gray. My overshirt was gray as well, with my undershirt being grey. The pants were a palette a bit more in-between grey and gray, just a little closer to gray.

Margaret scoffed and continued downstairs, (Where the Hell are we going to go eat, anyways!?) She complaint in her head, walking down and seeing Dante. "So you're my maid now, are you?" Dante laughed. "Not you too, Dante...." she growled.

(Yes. There is a difference between grey and gray.)

  • Author

(Grey darker? Gray lighter?)

Hiro laughed at Margaret.

"You have to admit it. You do look like a maid." she said with a smirk.

Aisling got herself ready rather quickly. She wore a knee-length charcoal black dress with short sleeves almost that as a tank-top. There were ruffles at the bottom aligned with lace at the top. A black ribbon was tied into a bow at the bottom of a corset like design that stopped at the mid-chest. Lace aligned the corset-like design...that lace lead to the back and aligned another corset like design a full bow instead of a ribbon tied into a bow on the back instead. She wore simple white tights and black heeled boots to complete it. Aisling let her hair down, clipping on a bow to the back of her hair. With that, she opened the door to just see Joshua again.

(No, gray's darker and grey's lighter)"Tch. Maybe, but I'm sure as Hell not Dante's, Hiro!" Margaret exclaimed and nearly hissed. Dante chuckled again, "Calm down. They're only teasing." He said with a bit of a smirk as well. "Yeah, yeah, you're just no better, Dante." Margaret scoffed again and sat in the foyer, just waiting for the others to finish.I stood up as Aisling came out, sighing and going to the bathroom to change as well. I really didn't want to. The silk pajamas I wore were still extremely soft and comfortable, and the clothes I was going to wear sure wasn't silk. Oh, well. I would have to wear some more again tonight. I looked up at Aisling before I went in though, just asking her again, "Aisling, are we going somewhere? I don't think they've ever really bothered to wake us up so suddenly...." I muttered. Afterwards, I went inside the bathroom again, getting changed rather quickly. In only a bit less than two minutes, I opened the door and into the room as I stretched on my white gloves.

(Ooohhh....*hides*)

"I don't know if we're going somewhere....anyway lets go." Aisling said seriously, grabbing Joshua's hand she began leading him downstairs.

"Aisling is back!" Anthea exclaimed upon hearing the two going down the stairs.

"Come on Dante lets go." Hiro said, looking at her Key Keeper.

"So blunt, Hiro." Dante mumbled, standing upright and looking down at Hiro. "We've yet to even decide where we're going to eat...." Dante said, walking out the door anyway. "We'll decide as soon as we can, but best not waste time." He opened the main door in wait for everyone to leave so he could lock it. Margaret stood up and strolled out soon, followed by me and Aisling.

Hiro was in the car first fallowed by Anthea, Aisling, then finally Joshua.

"You don't even know where we are going?" Anthea asked with a sigh.

Hiro simply shook her head.

Dante stepped into the driver's seat, followed by Margaret in the passenger's side. She put her cheek against her fist and leaned to the armrest of the seat, obviously tired, but she didn't want her make-up smeared. She couldn't recline back either, with Aisling and Joshua right behind her. She just sighed. It was slightly squished in the backseats, considering all four of us were here. It wasn't too bad though. After all, none of the four here took up very much space, especially me. I still leaned against the door, resting my arms and head on the armrest on the door, my eyes slowly weighing down. It'd be hard to sleep there, though. "Joshua, you still have a bit of a bedhead." Dante pointed out, Margaret going in soon after, before I could respond. "Not everyone has perfectly combed hair like you, Dante." Margaret grumbled, Dante just sighing it off and beginning to drive. I didn't reply, I just sighed myself, and continued resting my head a bit. Dante backed out the driveway, and drove ahead. We were still in the house-territories, no restaurant was around for a few streets. They didn't just have a house sitting right next to a restaurant, of course. Not a big house like Dante's. "So then— where should we go now? Any suggestions?"

"Some good place." Hiro said staring out the window.

"Some place with good desserts!" Anthea called.

There was silence until Aisling answered.

"It really doesn't matter, as long as it isn't bad." She said, her eyes focused on really nothing.

Still leaning against the door, I barely turned my head again to Dante. "Oh, um, I've never really tried much Polish food. So I can't suggest anything." I said with my still tired eyes, as opposed to Dante's. They were still heterochromic but I have seen both of his eyes go gold before. I remember only little of it though, for some reason. Dante thought for a moment. "Hiro, we're going to one of the 'Karczma' restaurants. Karczma Zbòjecka, I believe." He told her, while continuing in the same direction.

"We are?" Hiro asked with a smile.

"Where is that?" Anthea asked, rather agitated.

(Short post/shot)

(I had to use something.... /.)

"Yes, Hiro." Dante said— rather obviously and bluntly. "Just several miles away." He spoke again, but to no specific person, despite Anthea having asked the question. Margaret just looked out onto the road boringly. I was still resting, as if going to sleep again, but not. It was silent for a short while.

"Dante....what if something happens with the Shadows' Case today?" Hiro asked quietly.

Anthea nodded in agreement, holding onto Usagi and looking at Dante.

Aisling was quiet, petting Joshua's head a bit.

Dante was silent for a few moments. Just...thinking slightly. "Hm...don't count on it, Hiro. We haven't seen a Phantom Book in awhile...outside of Lira and Isaac, that is. In the event they, or any Phantom Book begins to take its occurrence, then...we'll merely do our jobs...and prevent it from continuing. There are three pairs of us here...I'm certain we can manage any of the Phantom Books we come across." He said it fairly seriously. Margaret continued looking out the window, just listening in to the conversation.

  • Author

"We can." Hiro said seriously.

"Margaret and you are really strong against people with Phantom Books like Lira and Isaac....if anyone, Joshua is the one we should all be worried about." Anthea said, looking over at Aisling's Key Keeper.

Aisling looked down and gave a nod.

"...Yes. Margaret and I can handle Lira and Isaac, as well as any others that might show. My bullets do the most damage, being made of gold, while Margaret can be simply more...deadly and vicious. She's faster as well. However, Joshua's main source for protecting him and Aisling is the Bibliotheca. That can be rather unfortunate. Using the Bibliotheca will cause pain to Aisling, and it is a slow process." Dante glanced at me quite contently, and Margaret turned to the rest as well. "Yeah, he tried using the Bibliotheca on Lira before I was able to come out. Lira stopped it. Bitch...." Margaret pointed out, glancing at me for a short bit as well. "He is the most vulnerable...and if he was killed then Aisling goes too. But he's only eleven. So, I'm unsure as to how we can try and stop this. He's clearly more diminutive than our primary enemies, so even if he could fight better, strength in the matter will be his downfall. His sense of mercy and hesitation, as well. A lot of what he's done has been out of luck...." Dante pointed out again. I just sat in my seat, by the window, as if I hadn't heard a thing. I was still resting-- looking as if I was already asleep again. But...I heard. They're all right...I just didn't want to listen.

  • Author

Aisling looked at Dante for a second.

"...I can't do anything about it though....there isn't a way a Biblioprincess can prevent pain from opening the Bibliotheca. The Keykeeper is defenseless actually reading the book." She said rather quietly.

Hiro looked at Aisling.

"There was once a Keykeeper who burnt the books and used their power while burning them." She said.

Dante glared at Hiro for a bit. "You're full of references to others today, Hiro...." Dante realized, but still smirked. "Very perceptive. Yes, I recall: Hal Kamhout and his Biblioprincess-- Flamberge-- the Gin Yomihime." Dante continued driving, already in the territories of the city where they were just on the road-- with many stores and restaurants around. They were getting fairly close to their Karczma restaurant. "If I'm correct, Hal was a Libricide Officer. Aren't you one as well, Margaret? Back when you were living in England?" Dante looked to his side, at Margaret for a moment before resuming to look down the road. "Yeah, I'm a Libricide Officer. I know what Hiro's talking about, it's a staff. I'm not too sure how it works, but I bet I can steal one if I happen to find it. Even so, it wouldn't be much use. I don't think Joshua's going to handle a staff that size that can demolish everything in front of it. But, who knows? Maybe they have something a bit smaller and easier for the kid. It's not exactly a kid's job as a Libricide Officer though, so maybe not."

  • Author

"Flamberge?" Anthea asked with a laugh.

"What a ridiculous name!" She said.

"Shut up Anthea." Hiro snapped.

Aisling looked slightly over to Joshua, silent.

"Actually Anthea, the name Flamberge is a very fitting name as Hal's Biblioprincess." Dante corrected, "I suppose you may not know, though. It's quite simple really. As obvious, the term libricide refers to the burning of books. And Flamberge holds books within her, with her namesake put to action. A flamberge is a sword— such sword is designed so that the blade is rippled like a flame. A flame sword, and with it, libricating the books. Not only that, even. Hal's staff used for librication is known as the Staff of Surtr, with another meaningful name. Surtr is a Norse god, whom wished to destroy everything of this world with a flaming sword. With a flamberge. So you could say Hal and his staff are Surtr, with Flamberge as his sword in which he uses to continue his path of librication. Does that make any sense, Anthea?" Dante asked her. Margaret scoffed again. (Tch. Know-it-all.)

(I learn stuff from this roleplay....)

Anthea's eyes lit up.

"Really?! That's cool!!" she exclaimed.

"I guess it is rather cool..." Hiro muttered.

Aisling was still silent.

"It is, actually. I've seen what occurs to me as a bit of a coincidence in your name as well, Anthea." Dante said again, with the restaurant in sight already. "I'm sure we know that our Greek-named Reaper with us has her name meaning 'pearl.' Quite frankly, a pearl is a delicate object, made specially but needing to be protected by its harder shell. As we can all tell, Margaret tends to contradict that namesake, and is surely one of the more independent people I know." Dante said again as Margaret glanced over at him, straight into his blue eye. "Anthea's personality contradicts her namesake as well. With her name also of Greek origin like Margaret, incidentally, Anthea simply means 'flowery' or 'blossom.' Anthea tends to contradict that, with her direct and energetic persona. Just a mere similarity I found between the Keykeeper and her Biblioprincess." With a quick parking, Dante stopped the engine of the car. "We're here." Margaret turned over towards the back. "Joshua! Wake up." She exclaimed, then exiting the car "I'm hungry already." She continued. I slowly drifted and trudged my eyes open, with a drowsy expression and still with my ruffled up bedhead of hair, still feigning as if I had slept again in the car.

  • Author

Anthea thought for a moment before being forced out of the car by Hiro.

"Come on Anthea!" Hiro exclaimed.

Aisling grabbed Joshua's hand and lead him out.

"A little bit more awake?" she asked, smiling a bit.

Margaret and Dante both got out of the car, locking their doors and shutting them. Margaret's was a near door slam, actually. I stepped out of the car with Aisling, rubbing my eye for a second. "...Yeah, I'm a bit more awake, now...." I admitted, looking right ahead to the restaurant— smelling the food. I laughed, "But I bet I'll eat enough food to stuff me and make me want to sleep again."

  • Author

"You might." Aisling said with a laugh, looking down at Joshua.

Anthea pulled on Margaret's sleeve.

"Come on Margaret! Let's go..." she said, rather annoyed.
