Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

I laughed a bit, ignoring everything I had heard earlier. "Yeah, yeah, we're going." Margaret pulled her sleeve away from Anthea and began walking towards the main entrance, followed by Dante. I grabbed and held Aisling's hand, then following Dante into the restaurant. We entered-- being greeted and then waiting as Dante talked with the lady up-front and everything, getting a table for us.

Hiro and Anthea sat straight beside each other, Aisling on one side of Anthea. Aisling placed Joshua beside her.

"This place is rather full....anyone here could know who we are." Anthea muttered.

Hiro nodded in agreement.

Margaret sat first— over in the corner of the booth, across from Anthea and Hiro. Dante came last, delightfully waiting nearest to the rest of the space in there— right across from Aisling and Joshua. Dante's eyes directed themselves, glaring at Hiro. He had a bit of a grin, "Worry not, Hiro. Gladly for you, I've never been cruel enough to punish you in certain ways when you do or say something wrong." Dante smirked, then lowered down his tone. "...But in such event...the person who speaks won't finish their sentence." Dante backed himself to the seat, leaning back and slightly smiling. Margaret glared at Dante and so did I. (Dante can be a little scary sometimes....)

"T-they w-won't?" Anthea asked a bit frightened.

"Ya. They won't. Me and Dante will have their little head off before you can throw your little Usagi up in the air in catch them. Watch where you throw Usagi and yourself or we'll end up missing a bit and end up getting you." Hiro said with a smirk, scaring Anthea.

"Margareeettt!!!" Anthea called, clutching onto Usagi.

Hiro laughed.

"I'm just kidding. We aren't going to hurt you." she said with a smile.

Anthea still shook in fear and kept her eyes on Hiro. Aisling laughed, looking at Hiro.

"Still, even if you are kidding....don't say stuff like that because you're just asking to be heard." Aisling said seriously.

"They won't." Dante muttered seriously, smirking. Margaret stared blankly and looked down at Anthea, "You're fine, they're not gonna do that. Dante's not like that...well, with us." Margaret said, laughing a bit too, at Anthea's fear. Dante laughed as well, "No one will die...." He uttered under his breath. Just about every other table was delved into a conversation anyway. "In fact, I could do the same I would do to them, to all of you right now. No one would be externally physically hurt, however, they still wouldn't feel very good at all." Dante sighed, "Enough of this sadistic chatter, though." He said, once again seriously. I just stared off over at Dante, curious, and wondering what he could do. I leaned back onto the seat, flailing my legs under the table and in the air, just waiting for a waiter or waitress to take our drink orders. I started flipping through the menus for now.

  • Author

Anthea sighed, calming herself. Hiro began looking through the menu and Aisling did the same.

"There is a lot of stuff here...." Anthea said, glancing at the menu.

Aisling nodded.

"There is." She said.

"All of this is good too." Hiro said with a smile.

Margaret looked at the menu for about twenty seconds. "I'll get a steak." She came to that conclusion quickly, as everyone else began searching through and trying to decide. "They don't usually have this much stuff in England, huh, Aisling? The bakery is great, though...." I told Aisling, looking through the menu still, looking through pretty much everything but the alcoholic beverages. Dante glanced through as well, not saying much.

  • Author

Anthea looked rather oddly at Margaret before turning back to her menu.

"They don't. I bet this stuff is good though." Aisling said with a smile.

"Dante~ I know what I'll have!" Hiro chimed after looking at Anthea's menu.

Margaret looked right back at Anthea. "Something wrong, already?" She asked quite bluntly, placing her menu closed and down. Dante glanced at the two, but then turned to Hiro, "Oh, already, Hiro? What are you having, after all?" He asked, looking to the side after and noticing a waitress. Most likely just to ask us what we wanted to drink.

  • Author

Hiro gave a sharp glare at Dante.

"You'll find out eventually." She snapped.

Aisling looked along at the menu with Joshua.

"Right, when we order food, Hiro." Dante sighed. "Oh, well. Won't be long." Dante closed his menu, as he was done deciding on his meal as well. I continued trailing my drowsy eyes across the menu, eventually deciding. "Okay, I know what I want, now." I said simply, letting Aisling still browse. The waitress eventually came, as usual, greeting herself and then asking what we wanted to drink. "Tea." Dante and I both said in sync, unexpectedly, but we didn't mind, unlike Anthea and Hiro. She just nodded, "Okay, two cups of tea." She said, and Margaret then glared at her, "I'll have champagne." She said rather bluntly. Dante looked at her seriously, as did I, but confusedly. "Champagne, Margaret?" Dante asked her. She just sighed, "Yes. That's what I said." The waitress wrote that down, and turned to Anthea, Hiro, and Aisling. "Anything else?"

  • Author

"Tea please." Hiro said with a nod, Anthea nodding in agreement with Hiro.

"Just some water please...." Aisling said a bit quietly.

Anthea and Hiro sighed, looking at Aisling. Aisling simply stared back at them.

After the waitress left, the table was left a bit silent. Dante calmly waited, Margaret tried relaxing back against the wall, and I just looked around with nothing to do. Eventually, I just rested my head and arms on the table again. "I guess most of us are having tea...." I said boringly, just breaking the silence. "Thanks, Captain Obvious." Margaret sneered, boringly as well. I just sighed. (I wonder what Lira and Isaac are doing, or scheming, or whatever. We always seem to leave them be— I mean, I don't want to kill them, anyway...but I'm surprised Margaret of all hasn't.)

  • Author

Aisling gave a rather sharp glare at Margaret.

"Joshua is right though." she said seriously.

Anthea nodded.

"It's still early and that is part of the reason why...." she said, clutching onto Usagi.

Another silence and quietude shrouded over our seating, just waiting. Bored again, I looked over past Aisling and Hiro, to Anthea and Usagi. "Hey, um, Anthea...I never knew where you got Usagi or why you keep it around all the time...." I pointed out, looking at Usagi with a bit more content. "It looks home-made too...."

Anthea's face imminently fell sadden.

"I'd tell you....but not here....there are too many people." she said seriously, her grip on Usagi loosening.

Hiro and Aisling looked rather worried at Anthea.

"Oh...okay...." I said a bit sadly too. I could only imagine and sympathize her, I had probably known a feeling...a lot like that. I just stood quiet for the rest of the moment, no matter how bored I was or how quiet the table had gotten. Margaret glared at me and Dante glanced at Usagi. He had fixed Usagi a bit, actually. The waitress lady came back, giving everyone their drinks. Tea for Dante, Hiro, Anthea, and I; champagne for Margaret; water for Aisling. Margaret took her champagne and drank it almost as soon as she got it. Dante and I both took our drinks too, glancing at the waitress and thanking her, before returning to silence.

  • Author

"Thank you." Aisling said as she received her drink.

Hiro was silent.

"Thank you~!" Anthea piped.

Aisling took a small sip of her drink, looking over at Joshua with a small smile afterwards.

After taking a calming and tranquil sip of tea, I glanced up at Aisling a bit. I could usually feel somehow, when someone looks at me. Especially if they stare. If they stare...I can feel it. And then I turn, as an instinct, staring into the person who stared at me. I just looked back down to the tea, smiling a bit too as I took another sip. Dante gpanced over to Hiro, "Don't be rude, Hiro. When the waitress brings us our food after we order, be sure to thank her politely." Dante told Hiro, taking a sip of tea as well.

  • Author

Hiro sighed and nodded at Dante.

"Yes Dante...." She sighed.

"So Dante, where did you learn Enochian?" Aisling asked rather suddenly.

Dante took a sip of tea as Hiro obliged. He laughed slightly as well, looking at Aisling. "Where I learned Enochian? You could say...yes, back in England. A long time ago-- before even Margaret had been birthed into this world. At the time I lived where you did-- the same city as you and Joshua were not long ago. Same as where Hugh Anthony Disward and Dalian had lived." Dante said somewhat quietly, taking another sip of his tea after. "I learned the language myself, from other large collections of books. While I was not the one to discover or create the language, nor was I the one to have experiences with the angelical and...you could say, magical, properties of the language...I was the one to discover the Enochian..." Dante whispered now, "...Phantom Books." His eyes turned a bit more serious, his blue eye looking cold as ice and red eye burning. "Many people knew of the mysterious things Enochian chants summoned, however, I was the one to follow what had happened, seeing that they were emanating from the books. Unlike other Phantom Books, Enochian Phantom Books can be used from anywhere, despite not even being near the book at all. If you memorize the significant chant, you can use that Book from anywhere, be it a few feet away or in another country. This is what makes them powerful."

(A simple question and huge answer....)

"So, you could use a Phantom Book right now, Dante?" Anthea asked rather quietly.

Hiro smiled and crossed her arms.

"You bet he can. He often uses the chants in situations so he doesn't have to open the Bibliotheca Negavit Horologium." Hiro said seriously, keeping the quiet tone.

"Not everyone can do that...." Aisling muttered.

Edited by Neko-chan

"Yes. It is quite a powerful thing, without the need for anything else, not a weapon, and not a book." Dante's eyes were shot with an idea. "Quite...powerful, indeed...quite powerful...." He whispered, his eyes trailing and then gazing at me. He closed his eyes for a second and calmed himself, sipping his tea again. I looked at Dante a little strangely, but I said nothing and waited as the waitress started to come by. Margaret continued drinking the champagne, listening in to Dante's, Hiro's, and Aisling's conversation. She glanced at Anthea too. (Hmph. I guess after Joshua said what he did, everyone else switched the conversation topic. Anthea's just sitting without a word, same with Josh too.) Margaret thought, sitting down the wine glass on the table. "Anthea." She muttered, "You're fine, right?" (If not, I'm always willing to slap the boy across his face for mentioning that.)

The waitress stopped at our table, asking us for our orders as she had the notepad and pen ready. Margaret spoke up first, "Just a steak. Medium rare." I spoke next, "Oh...um...just a soup for me. With the rice, chicken, and noodles, of course...." "Two of those soups, at that. And the Italian bruschetta as an appetizer, please." Dante said after me.

(Dante and his fancy food =n= )

Hiro spoke up first.

"Angel-haired pasta with shrimp, please. Thank you for bringing me the drink by the way..." she said, almost forgetting to thank her.

Anthea looked at Margaret, then at the waitress.

"Umm....just some vegetable soup please....nothing special." Anthea said seriously.

"Fettuccine Alfredo please!" Aisling said with a small smile.

(Mmmm...that angel-hair pasta~)Dante smiled slightly once Hiro actually said 'please' and 'thank-you.' The waitress gave that innocent kind of smile to Hiro and happily said "You're welcome." before she left again. And now all we had to do was wait for our food. The Italian bruschetta was an appetizer, so they'd bring that first, and then the rest of the food. Margaret glared back at Anthea as Dante and I continued with our cups of tea. "Is that the food you couldn't tell me until now, Hiro?" Dante asked her. I just yawned and stretched tiredly again, hearing my stomach grumble a bit as well.
