Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

-Author’s Note-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

"Y-Yes..." Hiro muttered.

There was quietude again and Anthea looked at Margaret.

"Yes, I will be okay...." she said rather quietly.

Z(New character— my second post...again. We're up at nine characters and I have six of them o.o)

"Yeah, you better." Margaret scoffed and sneered at Anthea again, drinking her champagne. After a quick sip of tea, I looked up at Aisling, "Uh, hey, Aisling...what do you think's happening back in England? I mean...without us or Margaret and Anthea, there's probably still a few Phantom Books around. Oh, and the house too...I wonder how it's like right now. I bet our window's broken again...."

  • Author

(Morgan, accepted. Maybe I should create a new character >.< )

"I really don't know Joshua..." Aisling said seriously after a couple of minuets of thinking.

"There are definitely more Phantom Books around however." she said seriously.

(I just got a surge of ideas that can all work. Unfortunately, none for the moment.)

"Hm...." I glanced around with a dazed expression, just considering everything happening. "Well...I guess, right now...the Phantom Books have actually become a small problem...at least compared to other things in the world now." I muttered. The waitress came by again, delivering the bruschettas and walking away after giving a few quick glares, mainly to Dante and I. Dante ignored her and casually pushed the plate of the Italian appetizers to the center of the table. "Each of you grab one, if you want." He casually muttered, taking one himself. Margaret and I did too, enjoying the delicious pre-meal.

  • Author

(I killed the roleplay section, didn't I?)

"What was that glare for?" Hiro asked after taking a bruschetta.

Anthea shrugged, grabbing her one.

"Thank you Dante." she said, taking a bite of the thing.

Aisling didn't take one yet, even though everyone else had.

"I dunno, Aisling." I said nonchalantly, simply taking a bite out of the bruschetta. It tasted so...well...pasta-like. My eyes lit up a bit as I ate the first. "Mm, thank-you, Dante~" I said after. "They're actually not half-bad." Margaret remarked, taking a bite of her's as well. "You're welcome, both of you." Dante said to Anthea and I, before eating his own. "Um...Dante, is it okay if I have one more?" I asked, rather enthusiastically. Italian food was almost always delicious. Probably my favorite food from a specific country, really. There were some I didn't like of course. Dante smirked, "Go ahead. There's still a few left. Be sure to have your appetite for the soup, as well. The soups can actually be rather large." He continued. I gladly took another bruschetta. "Hey, Aisling, aren't you going to have one?"

  • Author

"M-Maybe...they ARE Dante's...." Aisling muttered, looking at her Keykeeper.

There was silence for a second and Aisling took a bruschetta.

"Thank you Dante..." she said shortly after.

Anthea gave a small smile and Hiro actually finished hers before grabbing another.

"You're welcome of course, Aisling, but the Italian bruschettas are appetizers— they're moreso the table's than only mine. Although, I am paying for it all. Still, its better to finish all of the food than let it go to waste, yes? Eat all you want to." Dante said to Aisling. He took the last bite of his bruschetta as I did mine. I smiled of delight and Dante took a sip of tea. "He's right. Just eat up." Margaret uttered as well, with a drink of het champagne. She seemed to have a high tolerance for it— without a single sign of being drunk yet. Only one glass so far anyways. With a quick glance at the chefs behind the kitchen making the food, and merely seeing the waitress look my way while serving another table, my stomach began feeling slightly queasy, and one of my eyes produced the slightest of water. She seemed to chuckle silently as she turned away, and I just looked back to my tea after. (Huh...? Why were my eyes watery...? I didn't yawn at the least....) I shrugged it off and drank ny tea.

  • Author

"T-Thank you Dante...!" Aisling said, then biting into the food he had offered her.

"Dante's so nice. All of you guys are. I'm happy." Anthea said after finishing her bruschetta.

Hiro gave a small nod. Aisling looked over at Joshua and stopped eating for a second.

"Joshua...are you okay?" she asked, noticing his eyes were watery.

(Just curious, how do you pronounce Aisling? I've always pronounced it like saying "I" or "eye," but Google says "Ash-ling")"Most welcome, Aisling. The threats we've been facing lately have been quite deadly but that doesn't mean starvation can't end up an issue. Eat as much as you can." Dante said rather seriously as we both sipped our tea for the umpteenth time. I glanced at Anthea for a second. (I still need to ask her about Usagi afterwards...but I don't know if I should...she was kind of sad just mentioning it....) I thought, looking back down at the table, and then to Aisling. "Huh...? Oh, yeah...I'm fine. I don't know where that came from...maybe it's because I'm tired...I haven't really yawned though." I said as I rubbed my eyes clean, and yawned, just from the sake of me even saying the word. I was that susceptible to its contagiousness. I stretched a bit too. I wasn't exactly in my happiest though, after everything that was said in the car. I tried ignoring it now, though, not showing any signs and just keeping everyone thinking I had slept again.Just then, the waitress came by again, serving us our food. It was a surprisingly quick service. The restaurant wasn't bustling as much, anyways, that could be a reason. The food did look rather scrumptious though. "Thank-you." Dante and I both said, she just chuckled again at our unison, as if it was strange or ironic. She took Dante's and my tea cups, and Margaret's champagne, for refills, since the rest of the girls haven't seemed to been drinking enough as to it being empty already. I looked at the steaming hot soup in front of me now, as well as the pastas, steak, soup, and such everyone else had. "Yeah...Dante really is nice. Thank-you, Dante." I said a little bubbly and innocently, to which Dante smiled faintly as well, almost as a smirk. "Well, now, you're welcome, and thank-you as well to all of you. Perhaps I'm a bit more lenient and 'nice' to all-- or most, of you. I do have my reasons and repayments to be nice to some of you, though." Dante said more seriously, leaving me just a bit confused. He then turned to his right, "Margaret?" He asked calmly. "Yeah...you're...decent." She snickered. "I hope that's not the champagne talking." He scoffed.

(I pronounce it A-shi-ling. Aisling was actually a forest spirit in some old-irish based movie I watched about two years ago called the Secret of Kells.)

"What if Margaret is drunk?" Anthea asked, simply biting into her food.

Her eyes lit up.

"This is awesome!!" she called, a smile on her face.

Aisling gave a small smile, trying her appetizer.

"Yes. This is good." she said.

"In the event of Margaret being drunk, I'm nearly positive I'd have a bullet or two delved into my sternum." Dante said sarcastically, to which Margaret rolled her eyes away. "Why say it so seriously, Aisling? Is something bothering you?" I asked casually, blowing on the soup of a bit.before taking a spoonful of it. Dante smirked. As I slurped the soup from the spoon, my tongue immediately felt like it was on fire

I covered my mouth, groaning, "It's too hot! It's too hot...!" Drinking my tea would only make it slightly worse, so.I didn't and just waited as I swallowed it and I cooled down. "You should probably let it cool longer before taking a slurp out.of it." Dante remarked calmly as usual. "You tell me that now!?" I exclaimed, slightly enraged, but mostly just from the burning pain.

"J-Joshua! Are you okay?!" Aisling quickly called, looking down at him and imminently grabbing his left hand.

Hiro gave a dark laugh and Aisling quickly let go of Joshua's hand and looked away with a slight blush on her face. Anthea simply laughed.

"I-It was just hot, wasn't it?" Aisling asked.

Hiro nodded.

"So....are you saying that if Margaret got drunk...she would kill you Dante?" Anthea asked.

(WHILE I was typing this my little sister got stung by a bee...ヽ( ̄д ̄: )ノ)

Edited by Neko-chan

Margaret simply glanced her eyes over to us two, as Dante gave a dark laugh similar to Hiro's. I looked down, keeping my hands over my face and hiding a faintly bright red over my face. Some of it due to the heat of the food, but mostly just from embarrassment. "...D-don't worry like that so quickly, Aisling...." As she grabbed my left hand, I turned away so as to continue hiding my face from the rest, except Dante who could see clearly from right across the table. "I- I'm fine...! It was...just hot...that's all...." I muttered, growing a bit more calm as the red faded and the heat of my inferno of a tongue subsided. Dante then turned to Anthea, "No, Anthea, not necessarily. It was a mere joke, is all. I wouldn't be one to know how she'd be when drunk. However, in the event she did attempt in doing so, her superior agility and aggressive disposition would not be enough to kill me. Perhaps injure, though." Dante calmly said, about to sip his tea before realizing again it was taken to be refilled. "Shut up, Dante." Margaret sneered again.

  • Author

Aisling sat silent, looking away from Joshua with a blush on her face. She had yelled a bit too loud. When she did yell the entire restaurant got silent for a second.

"But...if you got injured..." Anthea muttered.

Hiro shook her head.

"Lets not talk about that now Hiro. We don't need to talk about death in the middle of a restaurant." she snapped.

I resumed looking straight-ahead, just playing with the spoon in the juice of the soup rather than eating it yet. He spoke in a much more silent tone, with the temporary silence of everyone else around the restaurant. "...I'm fine, Aisling...the soup's probably not ever going to do anything to me...." I continued stirring through the noodles and rice within the juice, letting it cool a bit. I could actually see the vapor emitting from it. Dante remained silent at Anthea's and Hiro's comments, simply remaining indifferent and beginning to eat his own soup, without a sense of it being too hot for him in the least. Margaret was mostly silent as well, not wanting to keep the restaurant so awkwardly quiet, even as much as she disliked meaningless noise. She just began cutting the sizzling steak as the waitress came by with the drinks again.

  • Author

"A-are you sure, Joshua?" Aisling asked rather quietly.

"Aisling, Joshua is fine." Hiro snapped.

Anthea simply started eating her meal again with no problem, Hiro starting to eat as well. Aisling sighed and nodded, beginning to eat once more.

(I continue to apparently not notice when you post! Forgivemeforgivemeforgiveme)

Dante sipped his tea as the waitress reserved it, and then he continued eating his soup as Margaret finished cutting her steak and began eating it as well. I just blew on my soup, in attempt to cool it. Silence continued as I was a little embarassed, and I was fairly certain Aisling was as well. Dante did seem to have a sense of certainty as opposed to my unbeknownst suspicion towards the waitress. I couldn't just yell anything out without knowing for sure though, and Dante didn't seem to sat anything either. Margaret just kept her attitude to everyone. After a little bit of cooling, I finally began eating my soup. Still hot, but nothing that burned me. A few things had been brought up throughout the day, so I had been thinking of everything that's happened, and decided to break the awkward silence again. "Hey, Aisling, um...do you remember what I had promised to you...not that long after we met?"

  • Author

Aisling was silent for a moment.

"Sadly the only promise I can remember was about you taking me to the city...and you have fulfilled that a lot." she said, looking at Joshua.

"Then when you did go to the city you met me!" Anthea exclaimed.

"Then you guys kinda ran into me..." Hiro added.

(It'sokayit'sokayit'sokay)

Edited by Neko-chan

I smiled a little bit, seeing as how I fulfilled at least one promise already. "Well...not that long after we had met...you had told me about your dad. I told you I'd help you find him...and it might seem a bit random to mention now, actually. I just wanted you to know that I still remembered, and that I'd still try to keep that promise...okay?" I tried to reassure Aisling, and then just began eating again, as did everyone else. Wouldn't be good if the food got cold.

  • Author

"Im glad you're still trying to help me, Joshua." Aisling said with a smile, then turning back to finish up her meal.

"I'm done!" Anthea chimed, pushing forward an empty plate.

"You eat fast..." Hiro said, rather bluntly.

I gave a soft, warm-hearted smile as well before continuing my food, glancing at Anthea as I slurped it. "Anthea, food's not always going to agree with you if you eat it so fast." Margaret ineptly stated and then took a piece of her steak. Dante sat back and sipped his tea. "That being said, Anthea, I'd advise you to not move around all-day, nor lie down in rest all-day. Both will be bad for your stomach. Try and keep a healthy pace of things above an adequate level. However, once it decides to settle in with a bit of a stomach ache of the sort, then what was done is done." Margaret just gave her usual glare at Dante as he gave his usual over-explanation of a response. "Um...." I quietly and slightly confusedly broke the glaring and just drifted my eyes around. "Um...well, Aisling," I changed the subject, "A lot of people have moved here to Poland. Do you think your dad might have come here?"

  • Author

"Dante. Do you know someone named William Tornin? That is my father. He has been missing for a while..." Aisling said seriously.

"Gosh Gosh everyone don't be so worried about me..." Anthea sighed.

"I eat a lot when I have good food and I don't have problems." She said seriously.

"William Tornin...." Dante pondered out-loud. "I'm afraid to say I not. However...I have in fact, or so I recall, read a book once— written by an author bearing that name, if I recall correctly." He said before resuming consumption of his soup. "Just wait 'til you get older, then, Anthea." Margaret bluntly stated as she ate her steak as well. I also ate my soup quietly now. (Dante knows a lot of people and other things...but I guess he can't know everything or everyone.) I thought for a moment as I ate.

  • Author

"You have?!" Aisling asked rather loudly and of course happily.

"If you read a book with an author with his name then there is no doubt that is him! My father had started writing books before he left!" she said happily.

"However..." Aisling cleared her throat and calmed down.

"Do you still own the book?" she asked.

Hiro looked at Aisling.

"We don't get rid of much books so there is a good chance it is in our library." Hiro said seriously.
