Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

(So I went around asking everyone today: "does it hurt worse when your shot or when someone pulls a bullet out if you"...the answer was....when they pull the bullet out of you...and I was like: WHAT H

I shrugged my shoulders, "Yes. That's true." I simply stated. "But what exactly IS the Kon to Kuro no Yomihime?" I asked, curiously and cluelessly. Aisling was saying something, but stuttering and apparently a little nervous or shy, like me often. "Hm?" I asked, ready to hear her answer as she stuttered. That made me more curious and suspenseful, now I know how she usually feels. A moment of awkward silence occured after she spoke. I gazed into her right eye, curious and fascinated, yet still sad for her...pity I suppose. "...um...." I barely mumbled. Soon I realized I was staring and looked away, blushing slightly. "Oh sorry I guess I just...well, didn't expect that is all. But I guess I can't help it, unfortuantely. Now, we should leave, come on Aisling." I said speedily, as if in a rush. Just then the blushing on my face went away.

"Kon to Kuro no Yomihime? That is the Navy...'Kon'...and....'no'....Black...'Kuro'....Library...'no Yomihime'." Aisling stated.

"Let's go...it's okay...you can't do anything about my eye...I don't let people know about it though..." she said, grabbing the book and Joshua's hand, leading him out.

She lead him out the door, out the old gate, into the town.

"The Navy and Black Library..." I mumbled to myself. I glanced at Aisling's right eye and nodded. "Okay..." I stated simply as I practically let myself loose as Aisling grabbed my hand again. I fixed my collar right again and followed Aisling out the door, the light of the sun waking me up a bit more. "So...are we going to go to the library, the bakery, or the perfumer...?" I asked as all these possibilities were at a point, each 'first.' It got me a bit confused but I figure she knew where she wanted to go most. I suppose she was very sisterly.

  • Author

"The library, the bakery, then back here. We aren't going to the perfumer at all." Aisling stated, turning right towards the Library.

When she opened the door, it was a rather small place, with assumingly had nobody in it, but the shopkeeper and both of them.

"I'm getting you something whether you like it or not." she stated, pulling Joshua in with her as she began looking around, almost as if she was in a rush.

"Uh yeah, okay." I muttered as Aisling began taking me to the library. "But Aisling, you don't have to get me anything. Really...I'm fine..." I told her futilely. (Is there anything, anyone can say to changer her mind?) I asked myself in my head. I decided to keep by Aisling and not look around, after all, if I showed any sign of intrigue or interest, Aisling would get it for me. I glanced around the room a little bit though, nowhere specifically. "This place sure is...bustling." I said sarcastically as only Aisling, the shopkeeper, and I were here, despite the plethora of books here.

  • Author

Aisling laughed a bit at Joshua's remark.

"Yes...it surely is." she said, playing along.

She scanned though the books and stopped at one, blue covered thick book.

"Joshua...this is a phantom book...can't you tell?" she said in a quiet voice.

"It looks like the book of greed. We'll get this, and maybe I'll get you something else...umm....here." she said, grabbing a medium sized mystery book titled 'The Darkside of January'.

She grabbed Joshua's hand and lead him to the store manager. Aisling handed him over the money for both of the books, not letting him touch the Phantom Book because that could end up leading him to want it.

"Let's go." she said, leaving.

I nodded, still sarcastic. I wasn't exactly a funny person, but I cam at least make sarcastic remarks and puns, just no jokes. "Yep. I'm surprised the shopkeeper hasn't had a stroke of anxiety by now..." I muttered in a voice that sounded like I was actually serious. "Anyway, I cannot tell it being a Phantom Book. Aisling..." I said quietly to her, "I read the Book of Virtue and Sin yesterday. I can't tell the difference between Phantom Books and books." I said bluntly and followed Aisling to the shopkeeper as I quickly blazed my eyes through the summary. "The reviews seem trustworthy and it's a mystery book too! You DO have good taste in books." I said almost excitedly and with a faint smile, exactly what I tried not to do. "Uh I mean, are you sure you want to get it?" I asked afterwards, more serious. Too late already, she had paid and gotten the books. I nodded and followed Aisling outside. "So to the bakery then? How many buns should we get...?"

  • Author

"What about the same as yesterday? Lets try to not eat them all so we can have some tomorrow morning." Aisling said with a smile.

'Thank you Aisling for getting me a book...' she thought a bit agitated, rather mad at Joshua for not thanking her, but it didn't matter.

"That is the point. Some people don't know Phantom Books from real books. The demon lies inside of the pages, it would be too late." she said, arriving at the bakery.

(I'M EATING BUNS RIGHT NOW! THEY LOOK LIKE DANTALIAN NO SHOKA'S AND THEY'RE SO DELICIOUS! ^.^)

I walked into the bakery alongside Aisling and glanced at her. She seemed a bit irritated. "Huh? What's wrong Aisling? Was it something I said?" I asked a bit confused, although she seemed even MORE agitated now. I shrugged my shoulders and walked ahead to the line at the bakery. "Uh I'm sorry for whatever I said Aisling..." I muttered nervously and a little confused. What would she do to me? The line was going by pretty quickly, there were several working employees at a time. "That's true though, I guess the point of hidden Phantom Books is that they're hard to differentiate." I told Aisling as we moved up the line. I shivered at the thought of demons, I wasn't exactly stable with emotions-- especially fear. "I'd rather think of them as cursed books, its a bit less creepy that way." I said. 'Next please.' The employee called out. I stepped ahead and got my money ready. "I'll have twenty-five buns, please." I said as they gave the order fairly quickly. I held the books and the buns, turning to Aisling. "So what are we going to do with the book of Gr-- oh!" I barely realized and felt really sorry...and stupid. "Oh, sorry Aisling...! Thank you for the book..!" I stuttered nervously.

  • Author

(I want that...)

"Joshua...don't worry about me." Aisling sighed.

"I'll probably look through it, and then maybe keep it...or burn it...It does look interesting..." she said with a smile.

"Your welcome, Joshua." she said after some silence as the two walked.

It was silent again.

"Cursed books? That's okay...I guess." she said as the two neared the house.

I looked at Aisling and didn't respond, not wanting to disagree with her verbally. (No, Aislling...I have to worry about you. I have to protect you.) I thought in response as we neared the mansion. I couldn't help but smile as she did, but it was only faint as I was very confused. "Burn it? Why would you burn it...?"  I asked Aisling, I guess the Phantom Book could be burned, but why this one?! I glanced at Aisling as we walked back, she talked and acted a bit more hesitant for some reason.

  • Author

"Phantom Books need to be kept somewhere...or burned. Usually, a Phantom Book would be horded inside my Archeive. But it isn't that easy." Aisling explained.

'Maybe I shouldn't have brought Joshua with me to my house...maybe I shouldn't have him here...I cause death to those who are around me.' she thought as she opened the gate door.

'I have to keep him here though...' she thought.

(Look at my sign-up post real quick, Sodom)I Paid attention to Aisling's brief explanation, however that wasn't my current concern. Something was off, she was really uneasy. "Aisling...what's wrong? You can tell me..." I told her rather quietly as I walked beside her as she opened the gate. She seemed almost zoned out, "Are you okay, Aisling?" I asked worringly.

  • Author

(your img isn't working. Scary Margeret accepted, that is a twist ^ω^)

"Its okay, don't worry about me." Aisling said, opening the door.

She walked to the 'kitchen' area, making sure Joshua was fallowing. Aisling sat the buns on the table, sitting down as Joshua entered and grabbed one bun, taking a small bite out of the bread.

(Working for me. Strange. Btw, can you make a biblioprincess? =p=)I followed Aisling into the house and glared around the mansion oddly. "Something's..off..." I muttered to Aisling, then shrugged. "I'm not sure." I walked over and ate a bun myself, full of delight. My eyes bulged more open as I looked ahead. I swallowed and gulped simultaneously. "Aisling..." I muttered nervously, "Not to be of any inconvenience, but it looks like the window's been broken recently, and..." I pointed to the window, then the coffee table, "The Divine Come-- The book of Virtue and Sin...is gone." I said with a gulp.(Just a random guy, not Margaret)

(Okay...I'm on Mobile right now...so...)

Aisling took another bite out of her bun and looked at the broken window.

"Who has the guts to break in here? Someone knows who we are Joshua." Aisling stated, taking another bite out of her bun.

"Do you have that key still? You might need it today." she asked, standing up and making her way over to the window.

"I wonder how we'll find this person..." she sighed.

I sighed, "Sure they know us? They might just be have been here for the book, Phantom Books are generally pretty expensive on the black market, right?" I asked Aisling cluelessly. "Anything's possible with that I guess." I mumbled and leaned back with a sigh, "Now, what to do..." I thought aloud and began to think. I walked over to the window, then walked back to get a bun. I walked BACK to the window and examined it as I ate the bread. I picked up a piece of glass and analyzed it, followed by the window itself. "Yep. I have absolutely NO CLUE who did it." I said with a minor chuckle. ~Margaret~I sat atop a building roof watching as the pedestrians walked by. My eyes quickly turned to a rushing man whom was in a hurry somewhere...but where? Ah yes, a base for that group of criminals. "The Book of Virtue and Sin. Needs to be burned."

"We can't let anyone just sell a Phantom Book!" Aisling announced, taking the last bite from her bread before whipping off her hands with a rag, grabbing The Book of Greed, Joshua's hand, the thing of buns, the walking out.

"They are probably in the city." she said, walking with him out the gate and into the city.

"Some people can tell I'm a biblioprincess and your my Key Keeper." she said seriously.

I followed Aisling and nodded, "I wonder how they can tell though. Strange." I said as we came out the gate and onto the city. Hearing a loud 'BOOM' I turned to Aisling, "Did you hear that, Aisling?!"

~Margaret~
I sighed, "That damn biblioprincess always tends to be away when I get into a Phantom Book affair." I jumped onto the next building and walked ahead towards the next. "Eliminate the human. Burn the book. Too easy."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kDQj6z51QQ
I ran ahead to the man with the Phantom Book. "Reaper, Reaper, that's what people call me, why? 'Cause they all die, when I sing I end their lives! You act as though payback makes you a noble man, is that a fact? Well you're a goddamn Philistine!" I sang along as I caught up to the man. I ran ahead of him and jumped onto the ground. "Requiem Aeternum...bullets right through the sternum...lullaby to HELL, Babe, Reaper's got your name!" The man ran up to my direction and as I sang along, I blasted him dead, right through his sternum of course. I walked ahead towards the corpse as civilians ran in fear. "Margaret is Greek, you geek, it means 'a pearl; I'm a pure girl. Boys cannot crack this oyster's shell so go on, whip around that sword like you're the best! It's such a bore. Another hero! Oh please!" I sang as I grabbed the book of Virtue and Sin, tossing it away nonchalantly to the nearby gas station. "Requiem Aeternum, Reaper has come, sinner!" I shot the gas causing the station and the book to completely combust ad explode. "Thigh high socks are my absolute territory, go on and drool, the Otaku cannot resist, you think the fire in your eyes makes you a tiger in disguise? Dream on, you goddamn pussy! Reaper, reaper, that's what people call me, why? 'Cause they all die! When I sing I end their lives! You act as though payback makes you a noble man, is that a fact? Well you're a goddamn Philistine!" I finished the song as I walked off, the Book burned to a crisp. Just because I'm a Libricide Officer doesn't mean I play by the rules. A man dead, a community frightened, and a station and book both blown apart in an explosion.

  • Author

Aisling gave a slight nod to Joshua, grabbing onto his hand and running into the direction of the explosion.

"Who did this?" she asked, looking around.

"Joshua...I'm thinking there a Libricide Officer among us..." Aisling said quietly to him, grabbing another bun and taking a small bite out of it.

She sighed and turned around, making sure Joshua was still behind her, Aisling started walking off back to her house.

"The book has been burned, there is nothing you can do." she said to him.

"Ai-Aisling..! You hear something like that and do you just always run straight to it?!" I asked Aisling as she brought me along towards the explosion's source, everyone was gone from the scene in fear. They had the time to get out the explosion radius at least. Luckily whomever caused this was gone as well, otherwise we may have ended up dead. "A Libricide Officer? What's that?" I asked cluelessly. I followed Aisling back to the mansion, this Phantom Book was long gone.

  • Author

"A Libricide Officer is someone who searches for Phantom Books and burns them for the Government I suppose...I really don't know." Aisling stated, opening up the gate door.

"Yes. If I hear something like that, you might as well go see if you can catch the person who did it." she said, unlocking the main door, taking the last bite out of her second bun.

"Oh okay. I guess." I said, following Aisling through the gate. I began to eat another bun as we walked to the main door. I sighed at Aisling's remark, she was right. It just showed how much tougher and more direct Aisling is in comparison to me. "I guess we're going to have to be more careful until we get someone to fix that window." I sighed, walking over to the kitchen. "I'm going to make some warm tea. Would you like any, Aisling?" I asked, swallowing a bun afterwards.

  • Author

Aisling might as well tell Joshua the truth.

"No Joshua. Thank you for the offer." she said truthfully.

She sat down and sighed, opening the Book of Greed. Ailing wasn't a greedy person, she gave her stuff to others and would provide for others. Sometimes it would seem as if she was greedy, but that was wrong.

Will they end up finding another Key Keeper and Biblioprincess?

I looked at Aisling confusingly. "Huh? Are you sure?" I asked, even more confused. I suppose Englishmen like myself would enjoy tea at any given time. Whether at home, at war, at a brothel, or while working, it didn't matter, we drank tea with passion and delight. "Okay, I suppose." I continued as I poured myself a cup of hot tea. "You're reading the Book of Greed, Aisling?" I asked. (Huh, now that I think about it, how do Libricide Officers like that know a Phantom Book when they see one...?) I thought to myself.
