Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

Anthea raised her hand.

"I heard about a party in town today...Joshua might be there!" she exclaimed.

Aisling nodded.

"We could go look around..." she said seriously.

"A party?" Margaret asked, unsure of that light-hearted term for whatever it was. "Whatever. We can go there, then...." Margaret got Anthea and Aisling onto the motorcycle. Anthea behind her again, and Aisling in the sidecar. "You don't need to raise your hand, by the way...." Margaret said, driving off.

The woman ignored the people outside her phantasmal field, raging and crying over their children locked within. She began walking around the permiter, grabbing each kid along and shoving them back, hitting their heads against the edge, murmuring and repeating, "Wake up." After all were up, many began crying, others confused. The children were of many ages, most around the age of seven or eight, some even as young as three. The woman spoke now, in a loud, announcing tone. "I...am Morgan. Morgan Etiam Vinctum. Most of you here...for your kin and children...deserve a bit...of a lesson."

Aisling looked at Margaret.

"Margaret. Hurry up. Something isn't right." she said seriously.

"I think it's impressive about how each biblioprincess and keykeeper have a relationship...a relationship so good you can tell if anything is bad, or if anything is good..." Anthea thought.

"Life just simply...is not fair to any. Some of you...trust your lives on the burden of your faith to God. And in the process...let everything go as they would, you, not making any impact into any lives. But that God of yours...has not been proven of its existence." Morgan stated, in a calm, sorrowful tone.I looked up, conscious now, but confused. "Aisling...? Hiro...?" I asked, looking around. I was somewhere else. Hiro was the last person I had seen. Aisling is going to die. I hope you don't care. Hiro's words beckoned and ringed through my ears...I couldn't process anything... Aisling is going to die. Aisling is going to die. Aisling is going to die.... I cried. The words just...repeated...I lied without being able to move...drowning in my own sorrow. Aisling is going to die. Aisling is going to die.Margaret nodded to Aisling, driving faster, but were still a slight ways away from the town's center.Morgan continued wandering about, obviously stating things to the crowd, yet ignoring their pleas. "I want to prove to you all that my God, and your God, truly is not but a fallacy...not a lie. And so, I have abandoned my morals as a...'human.' I am no longer a human, you see. I am an angel. The most demonic of which...but...I am also a demon. A truly holy one, at that. I am to fulfill all the virtues and sins, and, when having wrought them upon the world, my God, and your God...will come...and intervene. I may be praised...or I may be punished...but my duty will have been fulfilled...."

"Hey Anthea...do you know how to get to the Bibliotheca without your keykeeper?" Aisling asked.

Anthea nodded.

"It's pretty easy...." she said.

"Why?" Anthea asked.

"I am going to let Josh know I am okay..." Aisling said seriously.

Anthea looked at Aisling curiously.

"When have you started calling him Josh?" she asked.

"I-It's his nickname..." Aisling said, her face started turning red.

Margaret gave a faint smile, but was still overall, serious. "Yeah, he could be worried about you too." She said briefly, continuing to drive with the rally in sight. Too many people were crowded there, though.

Morgan continued, as both Lira and Isaac watched, probably the only two being rather indifferent. "These children here...they follow in your footsteps, so hopeful and so cheerful. But they...are following the wrong people. Even so, how is it that they are all so devoid of, or, in the least, less enforced by humankind and their sins. For example...the first of the seven sins— lust— I'm certain that most of them are truly devoid of such a sin. But...in all...life is never fair. And they will be tortured as the lustful would in Hell...." Morgan lit a torch and threw it to the brazier. "They will be burnt alive."

(Aisling...Aisling...Aisling...you couldn't have died...you couldn't have....) I kept murmuring and thinking to myself. (I don't have anything without Aisling. And...she's probably...gone now......should I just let myself go? I'd be better off....)

"You should know what to say, Aisling." Anthea said seriously, looking at Aisling.

Aisling was hit with the realization.

"I ask of thee, art thou mankind?" she asked herself.

And with that, Aisling was transported to the Bibliotheca, along with Joshua.

(I had meant to post this like yesterday, but my phone died as I was on the last sentence)Margaret drove up the motorcycle where she could, parking it and jumping off quickly. "I'll get Aisling," she said, grabbing one weapon, latching it onto her back, and then another, handing it to Anthea, "You'll have to watch out just as much while I'm mostly occupied, though." She told Anthea, grabbing Aisling, for now, as she was only conscious in the Bibliotheca for the moment."Is THIS the kind of world, where wars and diseases plague both the guilty and the innocent!?" Morgan scowled, slashing the chain off of one girl's shackles, and gripping onto her tightly as the flames behind her grew evermore brightly. "Is this the kind of world where the innocents are the victims, unable to be rescued?" Morgan's voice grew calmer, only to shove the child into the flames. She clearly hesitated...but showed no eventual remorse. She breathed heavily...the crowd roared in sorrow and helplessness, still ignored. She took another child, frightened much more than before, fighting and squirming against Morgan in hopes of escape. "Is this the kind of world...where people cannot even fully live their life? Where children suffer for naught?" Another began to burn.... "It is. And why does your God...why does my God...not intervene!?"Drowned in fear, I tried escaping, before being dragged into the Bibliotheca. I was in endless tears and rage. The last thing I heard before entering the BIbliotheca was...a clatter. Something fell, clattering and ringing....Shocked by the realization of me now being in the Bibliotheca, I looked all around me, confused, only to be soon overjoyed. "Ai- Aisling...?" I asked, in confusion again. It was her! "Aisling! Aisling!" I repeated in joy, running and hugging her immediately, "I thought you were gone! I thought you were gone! I'm sorry I ran! I won't do it again!!" I yelled with tears in happiness, but I was still a bit confused. "I"m glad to see you now...but why are we in the Bibliotheca?"A clattering sound echoed into Morgan's ears past the burning fires and screams for a moment. She quickly turned, seeing Joshua, unconscious, along with a fallen white key. Morgan smirked, "Oh. A Key Keeper."

"It's the only place I'd be able to let you know I was okay..." Aisling said, hugging Joshua back.

"Margaret is here, she is going to help you. Promise me one thing Joshua....you will not be afraid. You will fight back. You will stay alive." she said, and with that, the Bibliotheca vanished, leaving Joshua and Aisling to awaken.

Aisling woke up, breaking out of Margaret's grip.

"Stop carrying me!" she snapped.

"I'm fallowing you!!!" Anthea called, her axe in hand.

Aisling turned sharply to where the burnings were being taken place.

"Over there!" she yelled.

Aisling began sprinting in that direction, Anthea fallowing.

"Joshua!!" Aisling called over the crowd.

Anthea joined her on her next call, "Joshua!!".

(THIS IS SO SAD ;~; )

"That wad quick...." Margaret sneered, dropping Aisling onto her feet and taking her weapons. She could see the ashes, and the smell of burning flesh. A similar smell to the first set of events at Isaac's home. She ran quickly along with Anthea and Aisling, noticing people unable to get in. (I'm done wasting bullets on these kinds of things....) Margaret thought, turning to the other two. "No one seems to be able to get in. How will we?"

I awoke where I was, dazed for a moment, before realizing that my key was laid out on the floor. Morgan gently reached down and grabbed the ley before I was able to reach it. "I've never seen a Key Keeper so young...." she whispered. "Was that girl...who tried to shoot me...was she your Biblioprincess? Or another...?" She smirked and backed away from me slightly. "Give it BACK!!" I screamed, in sadness again, almost able to slip out of the shackles. "I've always wondered what would happen...." Morgan turned to Aisling, Anthea, and Margaret, reaching out her hand and the key, still seperated from them due to the phantasmal field. She held my key and uttered, "I ask of thee, art thou mankind?"

Aisling's eyes widen.

"No..." she whispered before that dreaded force took over her.

"Aisling!!! Stop!!" Anthea yelled.

There was noting a Biblioprincess could do from stopping it until a Phantom Book was actually removed from the Library, or the Library is locked back up.

"Nay....I am world! I am the Lost World! Holding 55,555 thousand Phantom Books....open the gate to truth!" the voice unlike her own called.

"No!! This can't be happening...." she thought.

Anthea stared at Aisling as the keyhole in her side was ripped open, awaiting for a phantom book to be removed.

"So it works either way...." Morgan smiled innocently. She needed no Phantom Book as it was, leaving her as she was. "Aisling!!" Margaret and I both yelled, I was unable to do anything. Lira appeared, cloaked in shadow, grabbing Anthea and taking her away from Aisling. Isaac did the same with Margaret, and to a different direction, leaving Aisling alone, split from her side. I slipped out of the shackles as best I could, my wrists and ankles bled, but I ran to Aisling. "No." Morgan grabbed me on her own, having hid the key somewhere, and she would not let go of me. "So that's who your keykeeper is," she whispered, holding me by the neck again.Dante pondered in his home, along Hiro. "I am curious as to how they fare...whether or not I'm any more than an acquaintance to them...." He muttered. Nothing else could have been occupying his mind at the time. The flames of my burning home still seared in his memories of causing it.Lira continued escaping the scene with Anthea, gripping onto Anthea's axe as she did as well, to avoid too much trouble. Isaac rushed out of the crowd, pinning Margaret to the ground and keeping her weapons away from her. He had his skinning knives ready. "I would like to see what happens next! Aisling's alone...."

  • Author

Anthea squirmed around in Lira's arms.

"LET ME GO!! Aisling is my friend....she's a biblioprincess like me....you guys wouldn't understand!! All the pain and emptiness inside....all of the longing just to get through that terrible moment someone ask that stupid question!!" Anthea yelled.

Aisling was alone, a hole leading to an abyss of darkness in her side. She looked at Joshua, tears streaming down her face. She lay on her knees, turning to Morgan.

"If you're that fascinated in me....then grab a book from the bibliotheca and read it aloud." Aisling yelled.

Aisling had the Book of Liberation in mind...the book that could free Joshua from Morgan's restraint.

"All the more reason to keep you here...." Lira teased. Margaret and Isaac fought in vain, MArgaret just needing to escape. She was faster, but Isaac was stronger, and wouldn't give her the time to run. She kicked right to his neck, to which he grunted and had his spinal blade slash her leg. "I will let others commit to their experiments...like Morgan, there...." He uttered."No, thanks." Morgan said, once again with an innocent but sarcastic tone to it. I kept squirming, remembering how I almost escaped Morgan last time, with Hiro. I pulled a kunai, stabbing her arm to make her let go, but running as soon as I hit the ground to not let her grab me again as before. I ran, sprinting to the very end. I ran off the stage-like area, out of the field Morgan had made. It was basically a one-way pass, going out is easy, but coming in didn't seem possible. Morgan ran too, reaching her hand out the field until I got too far. About to run out, she stopped dead in her tracks, glaring and scowling at the rest of the crowd. If she were to leave the field, they would overwhelm her. She walked back, the rest of the children still shackled, and yet, some of the crowd cheered for me-- seeing that it was possible to escape. "Whatever. I can kill them both from here...." Morgan grunted, still having my key. I reached Aisling just as Morgan began to try to snap the key, and I yelled directly at Morgan, "OXEX RACLIR" in Enochian, after having memorized what Dante did to Lira earlier. She immediately fell over, vomiting and weeping. "Sorry, Aisling...." I told Aisling, knoiwing she would still be in pain. I reached in, grabbing a book

Aisling's keyhole sealed, she looked at Joshua, tears falling from her eyes.

"It's okay Joshua..." she said, hugging him.

"Get the key....and hurry. Margaret and Anthea are in trouble. The book will release the remaining children and get Morgan, Lira and Isaac out of here." she said quietly.

"I'll be okay..." she said, slowly standing up.

Anthea sighed.

"Fine..." she snapped.

She knew Margaret could take the damage. Margaret is strong.

Margaret grunted as well, kicking Isaac straight away with a somersault, landing back on her feet and grabbing her weapons. Instead of Isaac, Margaret turned to Lira. Even knowing that no bullet would even graze Lira, she shot anyways. "Another waste of bullets...." She sighed, Lira having to dissipate in order to avoid the bullets. Margaret kept shooting. "There. Run out, Anthea!"

I hesitated for a moment, wincing from my bleeding wrists and ankles. My neck was bruised from Morgan too. "...Okay. Be careful!" I told Aisling. Hopefully Morgan, Isaac, and Lira were the only ones causing harm, as all were away from Aisling. I ran back, only to still be locked out of the area. The field remained as Morgan intensely threw up as she oh so incessantly cried and sobbed. Unwillingly, of course, but unable to be controlled for the time being.

"I still can't get in...." I murmured to myself, deciding to use the book now, anyways. The Book of Liberation...I opened it and began reading. "With ever so scathing control and punishment, leashed and commanded by the whims of those whom have become gluttonous of their own avarice and bludgeoned with hubris, the luxury, or rather, the righteous reward for rebellion— liberation— sought by the brave of the common. Yes, sought by the brave of the common people, but wanted— or even needed by the lower ranked civilians trapped within the jaws of envy and supposed inferiority. Those seek others to liberate them. But, perhaps, finding one's own liberation would be even more rewarding of an accomplishment, and a clear earning of self-merit. One who has been liberated as such, however...do at times...become consumed, now being the controller, as they too, are englufed in the pride and hubris of oneself. They too, become the antagonists to those seeking liberation. Perhaps obliteration is the only true savior...or perhaps mere banishment and shun. The cycle of liberation continues and repeats, all being in vain and for naught...."

Anthea broke out of Lira's grip, running towards Aisling.

As Joshua read the Phantom Book, the barrier that Morgan made began to crumble, the chains around the other children broke, letting them be free. Joshua's key returned to his hand.

A black winged beast formed from behind Joshua, it going straight towards Morgan.

People cheered as the barrier broke, and the children began to run free, embracing their loved ones in tears and love. Morgan backed up slightly, seeing some people ready to storm her, and kill her. She looked directly into the eyes of the black beast, however, unwavering, and clenching a sharp dagger. A sacrificial dagger, actually. "A beast of phantoms, likely, also being born with a fulfillment a hubris within it...." Morgan muttered, gently rubbing the dagger with her finger, stabbing it into the beast as soon as it came close enough. "I sacrifice thee." The dagger seemed to do more damage than it should have, the beast being clearly wounded. Morgan moved it with the dagger, down into the brazier. She wiped the dagger as the beast burned. To think...she killed a phantom with it. The Book of Liberation remained, but it's phantasmal abilities could never be used again. They already were, however....I stood in awe as the beast was killed, but Morgan, did still appear clearly worried and nervous. She hesitated, looking around until people began coming up the surface, towards her. "So divine intervention must have saved you all as it should have...I must do more if I am to bring our God down onto Earth...." Morgan whispered to no one, before vanishing again, as she did with me to escape Hiro earlier.Margaret used her last gunshot for a bit of momentum, immediately switching to a scythe and clashing against Isaac's spine. With such force, it did wound Isaac after all, and Margaret kicked him off, coming back to Aisling, Anthea, and I. Lira reappeared, by Isaac. She gave a gesture without words, to which Isaac nodded. "Yes. We're done here...so many failed experiments...I may...need an assistant with my own work soon...." He said quietly. Lira left with him.

Aisling stared at Morgan as she effortlessly killed a Phantom.

"Some people posses the ability to defeat phantoms.....Morgan must be one of the few." She muttered.

She turned her direction to Margaret.

"Where can we go now?" She asked.

  • 2 weeks later...

(They're gone now....) I thought to myself, slumping down to the floor, beside Aisling. Margaret looked at Aisling and Anthea for a moment. "I don't know. We don't really have much money to find anywhere..." Margaret looked around, trying to think of something. "I don't know where we can stay..." She glanced back at Aisling. "And I'm fairly sure you and Joshua left most of your belongings with Dante...."

A single clap came from the crowd, a young man stepping apart from the group around them. After the boy stepped away from the crowd, people started to leave.

"A couple of Keykeepers with their biblioprincesses and they have no place to go. What a pity. I suppose my mom wouldn't mind sparing some beds for some wonderful people." The boy said.

"I am Eric Morgan, pleasure to meet you all." He said rather quickly.

Aisling bowed her head ever so slightly.

"I'm Anthea Ione! This is Aisling Tornin, Joshua Akira and Margaret a Moonlight." Anthea announced.

Just seeing Eric offer us with a place to stay made me smile. It was joyous, and a bit exciting for me on the inside. This whole time I had been dying to finally meet someone new, to befriend. Alexander, Matthew, and his sister were all great people...but we weren't able to meet them in the best of circumstances. In high hopes, I looked up to Margaret, after Anthea had introduced us. "Can we, Margaret??" I asked. She stood for a moment, unsure, but willing to accept any help they needed anyway. "Sure. I guess we need to...."

  • Author

"Horray!!" Anthea exclaimed.

"Great. Seems you are all in favor. You haven't spoken yet, are you in favor of this?" Eric asked, pointing at Aisling.

Aisling nodded, standing up and grabbing onto Joshua's hand.

"Lead the way." she said seriously.

Eric nodded and lead the way out of the crowd, the group fallowing him.

"Hey Hey Margaret....we are pretty good at stealing stuff...we can steal our stuff back from Hiro and Dante." Anthea muttered.

(Your's will be the thousandth reply to our Bibliotheca :3)I stood up and followed Eric along with the others, holding onto Aisling's hand throughout the walk. Margaret glanced at Anthea, indifferently, "Yeah, it won't be hard. Dante won't really care but Hiro might, and if we lay a finger on her then Dante wouldn't care to shoot us afterwards...so we may just have to avoid her." Margaret pointed out to Anthea. I overheard, rather clearly, looking down, just remembering everything that happened today-- mainly what I had discovered with Dante....To think...just this morning we ate together...like a family.

"Hey Joshua,...are you okay?" Aisling asked.

Anthea looked at Margaret and smirked.

"Then we shall tonight." she said seriously.

Eric just so happened to turn around to look at Aisling and Joshua holding hands.

"So Joshua, is Aisling your big sister?" He asked.

Aisling tensed up and Anthea heard this and giggled.
