Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

-Author’s Note-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

Featured Replies

(Nooo, mine was the thousandth post, your's was the thousandth reply!)

I looked at Aisling for a second, thinking regarding her question, but not coming up with sny clear answer. I couldn't get over what Dante did. I...missed my parents. "I don't know...." was the first thing I said to Aisling afterwards. It may not have been the best reply, but Eric quickly changed the topic for us, to which, I also didn't know what to respond with. My arms stiffened to my body, and I just turned slightly red. "N-no...we're not related...."

  • Author

"You two look related." Eric said simply before stopping.

"We are here." he said opening a door to a small house. Once everyone stepped inside, he closed the door.

"Big Brother who are these people?" a little girl asked, pulling a blanket away from her face.

The little girl was bundled up in blankets on a couch, quickly getting herself untangled and hopping down from the couch.

"These people are keykeepers and bibloprincesses, you've heard the stories, haven't you?" Eric asked.

"Everyone, this is Mary my little sister. My mom is in her room." he introduced.

Margaret and Anthea stepped into the house first, after Eric, followed by Aisling and I. I looked to the little girl, Mary, unsure of how Eric's mother would react, or if we'd be safe here...or if they would be safe with us here. (I guess we should talk to his.mother, then....) Margaret thought, looking at Eric. "We need to talk to your mother, Eric. I'm not entirely sure if she's 'alright' with having people like us stay here."

  • Author

Eric nodded, looking at Margaret before walking to his mothers room. The door was always open to his mothers room, Aisling and the others stayed behind.

"Mother. There are two biblioprincesses and two keykeepers here who have no place to go. They were almost killed and one of them is hurt." he said seriously.

"Is that so?" a quiet calm voice asked.

Eric nodded. His mother has been sick for a couple of weeks and is dying. His father was never home, word was out that he was dead.

"They can stay. Not for too long though." she said.

Eric smiled.

"Thanks!" he exclaimed, running into the living room where everyone was.

"She said you four can stay! Not for too long though!" Eric said with a smile.

I smiled faintly, with a bit of joy, Margaret remaining indifferent. She looked at Eric again, "Do you have anywhere for us to sleep later?" She asked, looking around a bit, "It's not a very roomy house, after all." I stood still with Aisling, letting go of her hand and just examining the house. Margaret did the same, thinking (I haven't even spoke to a normal person in so long...it seems unnatural now.)

  • Author

"We'll figure something out. Hope you guys don't mind sleeping together." Eric said seriously.

Anthea took a step away from Margaret.

"I CALL AISLINGGG!!" Anthea called.

"Hey!! I already called Joshua!" Aisling snapped.

"Then I guess we can SHARE Joshua."

"Fine. But I STILL called him first."

"You ALLLLWAAYYYSSS call Joshua...plus you didn't say 'I call Joshua'..."

"Ya, because he is MY keykeeper. Is there something wrong with yours?"

"Margaret is scary ya know..."

"Ya ya....fine..."

I couldn't help but smile and blush a bit seeing Aisling and Anthea argue over this. Though, I did find it a bit funny that neither of them even gave me an option. I'd choose Aisling, of course, but I was never even given an option. I just laughed to myself in thought. Margaret was still indifferent, and preferred for Anthea to not want to be with her. Margaret would have her own spot to sleep now, after all!

  • Author

"Then it is settled! We are sharing Joshua." Aisling declared.

Eric simply started laughing.

"You guys must be really attached to each other.." he muttered.

"Anyway, it's starting to get late. There is a bath down the hall. I would get cleaned off if I were you. Joshua, if you are still hurt then me and Mary will help you out." Eric said seriously.

I laughed again, and then listened to Eric, acknowledging the fact that I was hurt. I had forgotten, considering I was no longer hurting, not really feeling any overwhelming pain anymore. I was injured though, mostly just from Morgan and the metal chains leaving cuts and bruises. Pressing on anything would hurt of course, but nothing really did otherwise. Still, I got up and followed Eric.

  • Author

"I call the bath!" Aisling declared before anyone else could say anything.

She literally went dashing down the hall, making sure Anthea wouldn't think about fallowing her.

Eric and Mary sat on the couch, sitting Joshua there too. It didn't take the two too long to cove Joshua's scratches at least. It just took some alcohol on the cuts and some band-aids.

"That should do for now. Anthea, would you help be start getting the beds ready for you guys?" Eric asked.

Anthea nodded.

"The reason why we are doing this now is...well...when you guys are really ready to go to sleep then you can just go straight to bed. Since this living room is the biggest place in my house, this is where you, Aisling and Joshua will sleep." he said to her.

Eric turned to look at Margaret.

"Margaret, you seem old enough to have had a child or too...I'm sure you've had children of your own. You can sleep with Mary tonight." Eric said seriously.

"Yaaayyyy!" Mary exclaimed.

Anthea stared at Eric for a couple of seconds before she started laughing.

"Margaret has to sleep beside a child~ Margaret has to sleep beside a child~" she mocked. ]

(I had to do that. I HAD TO.)

"Th-thank-you...." I told Eric and Mary, then went to Anthea to help with the bed. Margaret glanced At Eric and Mary for a second as well, before Anthea cracked up. "Sure...I don't mind." She said, hiding irritation. (Damn it.) She thought at the same time, "I've watched over Anthea for some time now. It's just like watching a child, anyways."

  • Author

"That's mean...." Anthea sighed.

Eric started helping Anthea and Joshua, laying out a couple of thick quilts for a mattress like bedding, then starting to lay down the blankets, and laying down three pillows.

"There we go." He said with a smile.

A sudden call made Anthea jump.

"Antheaaa!!" Aisling called.

Anthea immediately ran into the bathroom where Aisling was, Aisling wrapped up in a towel.

"....I need some clothes to sleep in and don't have anything...." she muttered.

"That's a problem..." Anthea declared.

"One second~" she said shortly after, darting out of the bathroom and into Eric's room, she stole one of Eric's T-shirts and ran to grab some of Mary's night shorts.

"The shorts may be too small and the shirt too big but there you go~!" Anthea exclaimed, throwing the clothes into the bathroom.

"T-thanks!" Aisling called.

Eric stood with a confused look on his face.

"She didn't have any clothes did she...?" he asked.

Anthea shook her head.

"Nope."

"Thanks, Eric...." I said, confusedly as well, just watching Anthea go back and forth for clothes for Aisling. Unsure of what was going on, Eric and I just about stood there in wait and just watching. "Um...well...I was actually going to take a shower too, but I don't really have any clothes either...so...." I glanced over to Margaret, knowing what she had planned earlier anyway. She nodded. "Right." She stood and headed to the door, without saying anything of what she was really doing. "I'm going to go and get some clothes for Aisling, Anthea, Joshua, and I. Are you coming, Anthea...?"

  • Author

A small smile formed on Anthea's face.

"Of course I'm coming..." she said with rather no emotion in her voice.

Anthea walked to Margaret's side and opened the door, the two of them stepping out. As soon as they stepped out, Aisling stepped out of the bathroom, wearing Eric's and Mary clothes which were uncomfortable and her hair was tied back making her even more uncomfortable.

"I didn't use all your hot water..." she muttered, sitting down on the bed Joshua, Anthea, and Eric made.

Margaret walked out with Anthea. Her motorcycle was a bit away from Eric's home, considering they had walked here. It was just where the event with Morgan took place. She walked towards there, knowing she had locked the sidecar in with some stuff, like Usagi and some weapons that were all safe. People still roamed the area though, mourning over the deaths of two children there....

"Hehe, you'll get your clothes soon, Aisling." I said with a small chuckle and smile, seeing Aisling a bit emotionless and uncomfortable.

Dante flipped through the pages of a book, reading with intrigue. Rather than the usual story that the author would write, this book was filled with information about Key Keepers, Biblioprincesses, and the like. Where he was, Dante's eyes were caught with one particular note: that, on a rare occasion, a Key Keeper will not be that of a Biblioprincess, but in fact, a Biblioprince. One should exist as of the moment, if not more, in a relative area. (So...this is a primary work of William Tornin.)

When Margaret got to the motorcycle, she unlocked the sidecar and opened it, getting her weapons and leaving Anthea's axe and Usagi in. "Anthea, when we get to Dante's, I'll get all of the bags for everyone. I want you to go and get extra clothes for us. Joshua's will be in his room...and for the rest of us...I need you to scour through Hiro's closet."

(Yes, I am planning on making a new, Biblioprince character)

  • Author

"Hopefully...." Aisling said a bit quietly.

Anthea smiled.

"No problem. She better be asleep though." Anthea snapped.

"Should I grab my axe....?" She asked her keykeeper.

(THEN. I CAN BE AWESOME WITH A MALE KEYKEEPER AND THE WORLD CAN DEAL WITH THOSE TWO'S GAYNESS)

(Sign-up sheet updated!)

"No axe. If Hiro sees you, she'll think you're going to kill her or something. Either way, she won't kill us even if she think she can, but Dante won't think twice about doing so." Margaret told Anthea, rearing up the motorcycle a few blocks away from Dante's house. "We walk from here. Or Dante will notice the motorcycle...." She said, getting out of the motorcycle and taking nothing. Not even a weapon. "Call me if you need help there...let's go." She began walking ahead, apparently in a bit of a rush.

Dante read on. The Biblioprinces were usually custodians of the library just like most Biblioprincesses, yet held a higher rank than that of a Biblioprincess. Perhaps they were superior in some way, or that the contemporary time's sexism had made it's way to the Bibliotheca as well. Dante pondered, (Interesting notions here, but where exactly did Willian come across such information? Did he know one? Or otherwise...?)

Elda gripped onto her flamberge as she walked along the alleyways of a rather large town in Poland. A black shadow dashed into the alley.

"A phantom?" she muttered.

The shadow charged towards Elda, she quickly wield her flamberge and sliced it in half very quickly.

"Not a phantom anymore..." she sighed, sheathing the flamberge again.

"Noah....are you coming?" Elda asked, turning towards her biblioprince who had been fallowing behind her for a while.

Anthea sighed, then nodded.

"What if Dante finds you and you can't get away...?" she asked.

"Right...coming, Elda." Noah called, having been busy looking at a stream of smoke from the distance. Ot had been a while ago, clearly, as the smoke subsided but the stench of burnt sulfur remained. People had been burned there— it had been stopped, of course— but it was rather peculiar. Noah continued to follow Elda, "There are at least three pairs of Key Keepers and Biblioprincesses in the area...all of them have been slacking in regards to The Shadows' Case."

"Don't worry. I should be fine, Anthea. I'm just going in Aisling's old room and mine. I'll help you when I'm done." Margaret pointed out, walking along the back of Dante's home. She didn't speak now, and gestured for Anthea not to either. Margaret scaled the trees and then the wall with ease, soon reaching the window of Aisling's and Joshua's old room.

  • Author

"Well that is their own problem. We however are dealing with it, right?" Elda asked.

She turned to face Noah, a small smile on her face.

"That set of three will get punished eventually." Elda said darkly.

Anthea nodded and fell silent. She fallowed Margaret up the tree, she was going to fallow her until they got inside.

"I suppose so." Noah responded to Elda blankly, "I couldn't honestly care less, but I'm apparently obliged to care for it. Enforce it, in the least." Noah followed Griselda, wherever she was going. Noah gave a dark, but incredibly faint smirk as to the mention of punishment. "Punishment..." He wondered. "The Bibliotheca's gatekeeper comes to mind...."

Margaret easily picked the lock to the window. Being at the house's second floor, the lock wasn't very heavily enforced. Easy. Margaret slowly and silently slid open the window. The door to the hallway was closed, ensuring Anthea and Margaret were out or anyone's sight. She turned to Anthea, whispering, "Get some clothes for Joshua here, then to Hiro's closet, got it?"

  • Author

"More the gate itself." Elda said seriously.

She turned to Noah.

"You can at least tell me their location, right? Since we are in Warsaw now....we shouldn't be too far from them." She said with a smirk.

Anthea nodded, standing up from tumbling in from the window and quietly walking over to the dresser in Joshua's room.

"Um...Margaret....do we have something to put these in...?" She asked.

"Yes, they aren't awfully far," Noah stated, turning northwest, in the direction of Dante, Hiro, Anthea, and Margaret. "Do we head there now? There are two pairs there, and," Noah turned northeast towards Aisling and Joshua, "Another in that direction."

Hm...." Margaret thought. Aisling's bag was fairly heavy with her clothes, books, and the like, while Joshua's was actually pretty lightweight. Margaret zipped open both bags, emptied Joshua's belongings into Aisling's bag, and tossed Anthea Joshua's now-empty bag. "Use that for now." She said. With Aisling's full bag, Margaret went out the window again, scaling the wall to her own old room.

  • Author

"Which ones would be the easiest to destroy?" Elda asked rather suddenly.

Anthea nodded, grabbing the suitcase and starting to grab some of Joshua's clothes.
