Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

-Author’s Note-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

"We know you don't want to be here...but Joshua, we had to come here." Aisling said seriously.

"It is safe here for now Joshua." Anthea added.

He just had to trust Margaret, Aisling, and Anthea with his life.

"Wh-where...are they...?" Joshua asked nervously and anxiously. Anxious to leave, at least. (It's still...not...safe here....)

  • Author

"They are out hunting for Phantom books I guess! doing what we were doing." Anthea said with a smile.

"It will be okay Joshua." Aisling said, looking at him and smiling softly.

As soon as Margaret stopped drawing blood, Aisling imminently hugged the boy.

"It will be okay Joshua." She said seriously.

Joshua hugged Aisling tightly. The only firm thing he seemed to be able to do with a lack of blood. "I...hope so...." He whispered, smiling. Margaret smiled too, even softer, seeing Joshua hugging Aisling...yet...there was a mirror behind him. The mirror didn't seem to reflect him as it should. Concerned, she stepped forward, but at that moment, Joshua turned around too. "It's not safe here....""Just how self-absorbed are you?" A voice boomed as Joshua looked into the mirror. A purplish-blue creature snatched at him and brought him into the reflection."We're here." Noah told Elda, right outside Dante's home.

  • Author

"Good, good, let's just go straight in." Elda said seriously, opening the door and dragging Noah in.

"Helloooo? Is anyone here?" She called.

"Joshua!" Aisling yelled, lunging for him. She was too late however, Joshua was lost in the refection.

"Joshua..." She muttered.

Anthea looked sharply towards the door, then looking at Margaret.

"Someone is here." She said seriously.

"I'm not going without Joshua." Aisling said seriously, looking at Margaret.

"You're making me less and less able to bring another person down for being so uncivilized, Elda...." Noah grunted, going in anyway. "One of those pairs live here, but they're not here...strangely.""Ngh...Anthea, stay here with them." Margaret ordered, knowing Aisling would stay anyway. She reached for her scythes, eyes blank. (I left them outside....) She thought, a bit more anxiously. She snuck much quieter now, (They couldn't be here. I would have heard them....) Margaret stopped at a window. (They're...not even...here...?)"He's getting all of your attention again. Just how jealous are you?" Just as Aisling had looked away from Joshua in the mirror, another dragged her in. This was a green and yellow monstrous figure, much like the previous.

  • Author

"Then who is here?" Elda asked, looking around.

"Are you sure your tracking system isn't missing up?" she then asked.

Anthea nodded to Margaret...but that's when Aisling was dragged in as well.

"It's not fair." Aisling thought.

She didn't make a sound as soon as she was dragged into the mirror.

Joshua, eyes purple with pride, and Aisling's, green with envy stared right into one another, in a world that seemed to reflect that of the Bibliotheca. A reflection. Nothing more. The Phantoms themselves loomed around, just curious to see the two for now. As they've had these sins strong...they were stronger than they should be.

"Poor Aisling. Envious, angry, Aisling. Now faced right to the source of your jealousy, speak. You both know what is going on here."

"Proud young Joshua. Compassionate, selfless, Joshua. Will she understand your disposition, or grow apart from you?"

The two Phantoms spoke to and only to their respective...'victims.'

"Tracking system...!?" Noah snarled, raising an eyebrow. Ironically, he turned quickly above to see who had come. She jumped down. "You two?" Margaret asked.

  • Author

"What is going on here...?" Aisling muttered, looking at the phantom.

She fell silent. If she was envious, what was Joshua.

"Yup, tracking system. That is really all you are." Elda said seriously.

She turned to Margaret.

"Wonderful, it's miss bitch." Elda sighed sarcastically.

"Is your little leech with you too?" She asked.

The being of pride echoed through both Aisling and Joshua. "In your world's reflection, you will remain here. You will remain and cause nothing, until...the time comes." Joshua's eyes glistened purple, clearly trapped by Pride. Aisling's glowed green, trapped in the Bibliotheca's reflection by Envy. "...You two...are the weakest here." Envy spoke, "The others still also need to be...quarantined.""Pretentious, naive little--" Margaret grunted at Elda, stopping herself for a moment. "...philistine." She sighed. "I don't firetrucking care for either of you. What are you here for?" Noah glared angrily at Elda. She was never appreciative of anything, of course, but she was being incredibly pompous. "I'd like to hear what you think yourself of."

  • Author

"Philistine? Haven't been called that before." Elda scoffed.

"You are actually a very rude lady, did you know that?" she asked, completely avoiding the point to why they were here.

"I don't want to remain here..." Aisling muttered.

She wanted to go back.

(I forgot the word was censored here...hence why before, I always thought it better to use asterisks....)

"Why are you here?" Margaret asked again, demandingly. Elda seemed to have ignored both her and Noah just now...both getting incredibly irritated. "There were two Phantom presences here." Noah answered directly to Margaret. "Now, Elda, my if all I'm to do is track them, what do you propose on doing next?" He sneered.

The Phantoms did nothing at this point, but wait. They awaited also, to see if Aisling and I would use the Bibliotheca. Their arms seemed to reach over, but would probably only pull if we began to move. They seemed...constricting. Joshua now spoke, with somehow modest pride. Surely...something a bit...deeper. "Aisling...I-I'm...sorry...."

  • Author

Aisling suddenly looked up at Joshua.

"I-I guess I am sorry as well...for being so envious and selfish..." Aisling muttered.

"We've grown rather apart...haven't we?" she asked.

"Why are we here anyway?" Elda asked Noah.

Anthea glared at Elda.

Edited by Neko-chan

My eyes trailed down miserably. "N-no...I'm sorry...I was selfish...." I gulped, losing my breath extremely quickly. "...I...knew you were a little...jealous, I just...." I sighed. "...I'm sorry. I don't want to grow apart...and I do want to keep my promise." My voice died down a little more, hoping they would remain. I knew Aisling was jealous, but not as much as she really was. I wanted attention, but forgot she did too.Noah glared at Elda just as Anthea did. The nerve to degrade him like that, then ask him mundane questions like nothing happened. Perhaps he took it too seriously, yet still. He looked at Margaret and Anthea. "Where are the other two?"

  • Author

"The other two got taken into a mirror by two phantoms." Anthea said seriously.

"I am sorry as well. " Aisling muttered.

"I shouldn't be so jealous."

"What?" Margaret asked, obliviously. That did answer as to why Anthea came back over to Margaret, but she was awfully...nonchalant. Noah and Margaret both went to the mirror. "Only those of pride or envy will enter. And those will find no exit. Others find no entrance." Some sort of warning echoed through them. To Margaret, just a mirror. Noah walked right in."N-no...it's okay...I mean...I just didn't know...or think of how you felt. I only remember what Dante told you...so...I thought that it would turn out okay...." Joshua sighed. The Phantoms of Pride and Envy remained as Noah entered with ease.

  • Author

"Wha–?!!" Elda yelled, reaching after Noah. She couldn't enter the mirror however.

"You better get back here soon!" She yelled.

Anthea laughed a bit, looking at Elda.

"We will be fine Joshua, trust me." Aisling said seriously. She moved a bit closer to Joshua, when she noticed another presence.

Noah was here.

A reflection of Aisling's Bibliotheca. (As...expected.) Noah thought to himself, keeping a straight face  in restraint of a quick grin. He sighed a fake misery, bringing his hand to his upper chest, where his gate was, but covered. I leaned nervously away from Noah and nearer to Aisling, but was pulled back by the Phantom of Pride. "Neither of you have really met me. Only Elda really spoke to you...I guess I can see why you two wouldn't say anything now. I'm reluctant to speak now, or even be here." Noah spoke and looked at the Phantoms of Envy and Pride, who gazed right back into him. One was of Noah's sin. He spoke casually and nonchalantly, his mind practically unreadable. "If we're going to be trapped here for the day...may as well get to know each other."

  • Author

Aisling sighed, looking at Noah.

"You're an idiot for coming in here." She snapped, glaring slightly at him.

There was silence for a while.

"Do you know exactly which phantom reflects you?" She asked.

"I'm not an idiot, Kon to Kuro," he smirked, as that was something only a fellow Biblioprincess would call Aisling, "Just be...patient." He glanced around, looking at Joshua as well as the Phantoms and the blue reflection of the Bibliotheca. He took a deep breath then looked back at Aisling. "Ah...and...I do, unfortunately." His eyes tinted from gray to a light green for a second, as his gaze was affixed to Envy. He walked slightly closer, sitting in-between, but slightly ahead of both Aisling and Joshua. His eyes were blankly gray again, just waiting, as if trapped with them as well.

  • Author

"S-Sorry..." Aisling apologized.

He was one of Envy."What shall we do?" she asked after some time.

"Haven't caught on? No matter." A small smile came about Noah, though surprised that Aisling didn't already know. Joshua watched them both, sort of analyzing Noah, considering he's seen him only one other time. "...Do you know...what exactly they're waiting for?" He asked Noah eventually, curiously. "No...." He soon responded, and after a few minutes of waiting he figured the Phantoms expected nothing else of him to do but keep them company. "As...one of the library's overseers, Aisling, ranked above you," his eyes met Aisling's again. "I forbid you from bringing your Bibliotheca into play."He flicked his wrist, holding Joshua's key, though unknown when he even took it. He went closer to Aisling, and rather than unlocking it, he locked her's back up. He quickly handed the key back to Joshua, seeing the Phantoms come to strike at Noah. "Instead...." He whispered to himself, "I am the empty world." His own keyhole was forced open by himself, much more painfully, but because that mirror was a reflection of Aisling's, Noah replaced it. Once he saw that himself, Aisling, and Joshua were in his own Bibliotheca, he forced it to lock, leaving behind the Phantoms. In the process, he nearly collapsed. He lied back for the moment with a quick grin, but clearly in pain. Noah got them away from the Phantoms, but they were now in his Bibliotheca--gray and somehow emptier than the previous.

  • Author

Aisling looked around, were they in a different Bibliotheca.

"You brought us to your bibliotheca?" She asked.

How was that even possible? Aisling helped Noah up.

"And I don't see how you are above me...." She sighed.

Surprised by what just happened in moments, Joshua tensed nervously, but eventually eased and helped Noah up alongside Aisling. "So...you're...like a Bibliopincess-- I mean, like Aisling...?" He asked, confused again. Noah chuckled. "Bibliopince. Among the library, most Biblioprincesses are ranked to be custodian of the world, disposing of Phantom Books. I am one as well, but just because I'm a Biblioprince, ranks me to her overseer, as well as a few others around here." Noah answered.

He sat up again. Today, he talked more than he did for every other other day of the week. "Consider it sexism within the Bibliotheca. I disagree with it, but it happens. I don't believe I deserve to be of any higher rank than you, nor you to be any lower than me." He looked around the Empty World, or rather, its reflection. Bland as it was, hard to tell a difference. "We can leave now. But Aisling, the next time Joshua uses your Bibliotheca, those two Phantoms will come along with whatever book." Finished, Noah sighed. Elda hadn't been all too great today. Maybe that was another reason Noah left into the mirror so quickly.

  • Author

"Then how are we supposed to use the Bibliotheca safely?" Aisling asked, staring at Noah.

If the two phantoms will come along, will they be helpful, or will they make things worse? Most likely they would make things worse. Plus, the thing Noah said about sexism in the bibliotheca was true. However...everyone seemed sexist to woman at this time period. They were always ranked lower. It took Aisling to catch along to something, just a small thing Noah said.

"Woah woah woah woah woah, hold on a second." Aisling snapped.

Her gaze turned into a glare.

"Are you MY overseer, or Anthea's and Hiro's too?" She asked.
