Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

Aisling laughed a bit. Joshua was still tierd...she could understand.

"Joshua...I don't know if you can still hear me...but I wrote a letter last night to my grandparents." Aisling said seriously.

(Sorry for the short post x-x)

I walked over to my room amnd heard Aisling. I didn't respond, I was too tired to speal loud enough for her to hear all the way over there anyway. I'd respond afterwards. I reached into the drawer and pulled out a light-blue long-sleeve buttoned overshirt and a pure white undershirt. I wore light-blue slacks and put on my white shoes, collar, and gloves, walking back out to Aisling. I was dressed fairly formally, most was with the exceptions of my hair and eyes, which were still both tiresome and nappy. "Your grandparents? That's nice...what'd you tell them?"

  • Author

"That we are both being targeted." Aisling sighed.

It was a shame, really.

"I also had to tell them who I was, and who you were. It's been forever it seems..." she said.

"Well...what would you like to eat. I need to repay you." she smiled.

I felt a bit bad for Aisling now. When I met my grandparents, I wasn't old enough to even be conscious of what goes on in the world. Then my parents died, and I haven't seen the rest of my family since. I felt a bit of guilt for us being attacked, my fault or not. "That's great, I'd love to meet them. I hope they get the letter, and respond..." I said to Aisling. Knowing how motherly and sisterly Aisling was, I somewhat hoped for her grandparents to come. More kind people, hopefully even grandmotherly and grandfatherly to me. That was a long shot though, they never knew me. "Oh, Aisling you don't need to repay me." I said then soon sighed. "But I know you will anyways. I'll eat what you eat."

  • Author

Aisling gave a slight smile at Joshua's first statement.

"Hopefully they will....we'll have to mail it out today." she answered.

Then he was talking about her not having to repay him. Aisling laughed a bit when she realized something.

"Joshua....I am going to repay you, and then we won't repay each other anymore, okay?" she asked, knowing this would keep on going if they didn't stop repaying each other.

Aisling knew that The Golden Library had a chance to come back. It wasn't their fault, dragging those two into this.

"Joshua. I need a straight answer. I am pretty picky and always don't know small things like this. Tell me." she said, dead serious.

I smiled, but only faintly. I rubbed my eye and then looked at Aisling, "Yeah. We'll need that, and apparently still that window." I said with a yawn. It's strange, I'm less tired when I wake up earlier. For some reason I'm much more tired when I sleep-in, I've always been that way, even if sleep is supposed to relieve you of being tired. "Oh, Aisling..." I sighed, "I'm fine not having to reoay you again. But that doesn't mean I'm going to stop being nice to you, okay?" I asked Aisling with a smile. Then she turned more serious, and over a smaller matter too. Truth was, I was pretty picky too, I was the one who had chosen what we've been eating lately after all. "Aisling..." I said irratibly. "No need to take this so serious. I mean-- I'm picky too, I've been the one choosing our food lately. But I'll eat what you eat, regardless if whether it appeals to me." I continued, she seemed serious still. After a deep sigh, I finally complied. "I guess you'd win this debate eventually anyway." I sighed again, followed by a yawn. "Do you know how to make chorizo or pancakes?" I asked a bit uneasily.

Aisling couldn't cook, but she had to tell Joshua the truth. This was embarrassing, a fourteen year old who can't cook, and someone three years younger then her who can.

"...N--no..." she stuttered, looking at the ground.

"I hate to push you...I mean you were injured pretty badly yesterday...sorry..." Aisling said, a bit upset and embarrassed.

"Sorry..." she apologized.

I stood a bit confused towards Aisling. She had just offered so seriously for something to eat. "N-n-no it's okay, Aisling. How about I make the food?" I asked Aisling, unsure of what she was exactly thinking. I just glanced at her a bit weirded out. (Wh-what just happened?) I asked myself in my head, starting to wake up a bit more as I was drowned in thought.

  • Author

"T–That would be nice...thanks. I don't want to push you around and have you cook though because of your injury yesterday. I'm a little upset because I couldn't cook, and I didn't want you to cook because something might have happened, but I guess you are going to do it anyway, so I don't need to be argueing..." Aisling said, her face red in embarrassment.

She gave Joshua a small glance, and then grabbed his hand, leading him to the kitchen area.

"Sorry..." she apologized, letting go of him, sitting down.

'Dang it Aisling...you missed up...' she thought, staring at the table, not making eye contact.

I smiled, "No don't apologize, it's okay. And the Panacea helped too." I said with a smile, a smile of entertainment-- wanting to laugh or chuckle a little bit as she turned red. I didn't though, that'd be rude, and I wasn't cracking up in laughter or anything. I got the eggs, pancakes, chorizo, etc and turned on the stove, beginning to cook again. It was easy, but if I offered to 'teach' Aisling, it'd get her more upset. Probably.

Aisling gave a slight nod, then looking at Joshua. Her face wasn't red anymore, she was calming down some.

"Hey...Thanks Joshua. I guess I can be a little overemotional sometimes. We're going in the town after we eat, okay?" she said, giving a slight smile.

Well...this was odd. An eleven year old fending for a fourteen year old. Aisling really didn't mind. Joshua was smart for his young age, and he was her Key Keeper after all.

(Sorry I didn't see this o.o)"You're welcome. I don't mind cooking Aisling, it keeps me hungry to smell it." I said and smiled as I cooked. "Sure, we do need to send that letter out today." I reminded Aisling. (I just hope we don't get attacked again...) I thought to myself.(Sorry short post, I have no idea what to say).

  • Author

"Oh, ya. Let's just hope Margaret and Anthea don't attack us again. That is pretty doubtful though. Her weapons broke yesterday and they looked hopeless." Aisling said with a slight laugh.

She looked seriously at Joshua.

"So we need to mail the letter, get some buns, and find someone to help us fix the window. Oh, also we need to go to the marketplace. There IS a marketplace, isn't there Joshua?" she asked, they were going to get some stuff yesterday until the explosion and the golden library.

(I think we both have no clue what to post ._. )

(Pretty much)."Let's hope so..." I mumbled and just about finished the food. "Okay, its all done, Aisling." I said as I served her plate then mine. I gave her some eating utensils and a napkin then did the same with me, beginning to sit down and grub. "Don't worry, there's a marketplace, but what are you planning to get?" I asked Aisling.

  • Author

"Well I live in the middle of nowhere and we don't have a lot of food, so I might as well get some food and maybe another weapon. We'll have to be extremely carefull now." Aisling stated.

She looked at Joshua and smiled.

"Thanks Joshua." She said with a smile, then beginning to eat.

(Sorry for not posting recently Sodom!)

"That's true..." I said bluntly and turned over, glaring to the foyer, "So who are we possibly going to get to fix the window....?" I asked curiously before beginning to eat once more. Despite the food, all my thoughts were focusing on Aisling's grandparents that we're mailing soon. (I hope we're not putting them in danger of Margaret...) I thought to myself a bit worryingly.

"Probably a carpenter or something...does the city have carpenters?" Aisling asked, finishing her plate.

She stood up and sat it in the small sink, turning back to Joshua.

"After you're done we'll go." she said with a slight smile.

(It's okay Schemer!)

  • 2 weeks later...

(Up to this point, I don't think its 'ok' of me ;~; sorry again)

"Well I'm sure we have carpenters..." I said to Aisling, taking the last bite of my breakfast and rinsing the plate before leaving it in the sink. "...but i don't know their prices." I said bluntly and soon walked over and grabbed my older clothes in a pile. They were all used and I was starting to run out on fresher clothes my size so they had to be washed and dried. "No harm in finding out though. Um..." I looked around slightly, "Do you have a washing machine anywhere around here?" I asked curiously, glancing at the broken window for a split second as well. I then turned back to Aisling to hear her response.

(I literally went around asking people if after WWI, they had washing machines. My teacher and Dad said yes, so I'll go with that.)

"It's okay, I'll find some money somewhere." Aisling said seriously.

"Ah-- yes. Um...fallow me. It isn't that good of a washer, and you'll have to hang the clothes unless you want me too." Aisling said, leading the way.

The two walked down about three hallways and Aisling opened a small door that you could barely tell from the rest of the rooms. She opened it up and relieved a dark room that was rather cold but seemed used a lot.

"Here it is. It is in the back. I'll stay in here, this room creeps me out..." she sighed.

(That's what I do on my story writing. Who was the pope at this time? What events were going on? What was invented at the time? Etc etc)

I followed Aisling as I looked around, curious due to me never exploring the mansion since I got here. That curiosity was like a gift and a curse, 'curiosity killed the cat' or however it goes. "Its okay, I'll hang them after they wash..." I said bluntly as I glanced at the clothes I had worn before, realizing they were quite formal in comparison to everyone out in the city. I didn't mind though, I liked dressing formally for some reason. Rich kid trait I guess. I walked ahead as we reached the room, it did feel slightly ominous after Aisling mentioned it, but I was paranoid with so many things-- especially after Margaret shot me. I walked over and found the washer, placing my clothes in and turning it on. "Thank you, Aisling." I said as I walked towards her out of the room. "So then, we go out into the city now, right?"

  • Author

"Yes." Aisling said rather emotionlessly.

As the two walked down the hall, Aisling looked at Joshua seriously.

"Josh, are you going to be okay?" she asked, he did only get hurt...yesterday was it?

She opened the door, letting Joshua out first she locked the door behind her. There was silence for a second and Aisling looked up.

"Germany is still plotting against Europe you know. The first war just ended, I don't know why a second one would spark up so quickly..." she said quietly to Josh.

(Aisling and Dalian: Yes.)

Walking down the hall, I glanced down at my chest and ankles after Aisling spoke. Margaret's bullets grazed my ankles horribly, but went directly through my back, past my chest as well. If she were more precise as to where, my entire spine could have collapsed like that. It made me shiver and tremble at the thought...but luckily, it didn't occur. "Y-yes Aisling, I'm fine. I was just shaken up is all." I told Aisling reassuringly. As the two headed out the door, I looked at Aisling with a minor chuckle. "You believe those rumors, Aisling? I'm pretty sure they're made up. The Germans started a war and lost...them starting another one now? I've heard the rumors...something that horrible could only be myth and lies...right?" I asked Aisling obliviously. At the time, these thoughts were rumors-- not yet actions.

  • Author

(I never said I was asleep yet, Schemer.)

"I kind of believe in them. Though there is no telling." Aisling said, focusing on her path now.

"Oh um...Joshua...I don't know where the market place is..." she admitted, Aisling even turning red for a second.

(Oh okay, well have a good Eastern midnight)

I shrugged, no way of telling which of us were right. Although, the rumors were indeed far-fetched and quite unbelievable. And to think...I'm blonde haired and blue-eyed. "I suppose so. But I still feel sorrow when I hear those stories." I said quietly, looking at the ground before turning up to Aisling. "Oh okay, just follow me." I said and looked to the direction of the marketplace and began walking at Aisling's pace. "So many bad things have happened here in Europe though. World War I...the Salem Witch Hunts...you name it."

  • Author

"That is partly why my parents wanted to keep me secluded." Aisling stated about Joshua's last statement.

She soon arrive at the marketplace, smiling as she arrived.

"This place is huge! Thanks Joshua! Let's go!" she said, grabbing his hand.
