Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

-Author’s Note-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

~Joshua~

I walked ahead quietly after Aisling's first statement. She was right and I felt a bit sorry. Her parents were overprotective, as were mine until I ended up alone. I sighed with relief seeing Aisling's preemptive joy at the sight of the marketplace, as huge as it was. "Uh, y-your welcome, Aisling." I stuttered, following Aisling in despite me not having a choice in the matter. I had never really come here often, it was expensive for an orphan's allowance, even though I could never cook anything because...well, I had no home. That was a given. "This place looks so much smaller from the outside..." I mumbled quietly.

(Finally...A roleplay where I can be slightly childish...I have been typing on all serious roleplays only today...)

Aisling was trilled, this was her first time being in a real public marketplace without someone bossing her around, carefully walking around the crowds of people, making sure Joshua wouldn't be crushed, she quickly got and paid for some stuff, something made her stop for a while and pull Joshua to her side. What Aisling saw was a whole bunch of sweets.

"Hey, Joshua. Can we get these? I'll let you have the share too." she said happily, then seeing something out of the corner of her eye.

The black-tacky dressed girl with the tacky hat and blonde hair with rainbow colored highlights and a broken toy rabbit in her hand.

'Anthea....' she thought, rather mad.

I chuckled a bit at Aisling always acting much more rambunctious than me, it should be the other way around. I followed Aisling as she maneuvered through the crowds and finally stopped by a bunch of sweets. "Heh, of course you can, Aisling...!" It didn't take long to respond. I may have been a bit more mature for an eleven year old, however, I've always had a love for candies and sweets. They're just irresistible! Despite that, Aisling looked a little more irritated than happy for some reason. She seemed to be looking elsewhere though. I turned towards where she looked, and saw a familiar face. A stroke of fear suddenly came over me at seeing her...the 'Golden Library' as Aisling called her...

"Oh...why if it isn't Kon to Kuro. We--" Anthea said with a smirk.

"Don't call me Kon to Kuro, I have a name you know." Aisling snapped.

She grabbed Joshua and held him behind her, grabbing some candies she paid, took up her bag that had most of her stuff and started walking off, Joshua now at her side.

"Aisling...it isn't everyday you get to see another like us..." Anthea complained, running after Aisling.

Literally pissed off and annoyed, Aisling, pulled the dagger from her dress pocket, pointing it straight at Anthea.

"Go back to your Keykeeper." she snapped, gripping onto Joshua's hand, knowing he couldn't run that well, Aisling picked Joshua up and held him with her left arm, running off, then arriving at the gate to her house after a little while.

Aisling caught her breath, unlocking the gate she lead herself and him inside.

"Sorry about that Josh." she said, setting the bag down in the kitchen and after Joshua came in there, she handed him a couple of strawberry flavored hard candies.

"Their pretty good. I used to eat them sometimes." she smiled.

(Sounds like a Jolly Rancher. Iove Jolly Ranchers. A lot.)

Past the conversation between Aisling and Anthea, I could hear a faint whistling. I listened to it longer, before realizing what it was. It was the melody for Philistine...! I was zoned out for a bit and before I could react Aisling seemed to have taken me back all the way to the mansion. "I-its okay, Aisling. It wasn't a bad thing." I stuttered as I looked back towards where Anthea and Margaret were. I looked back at Aisling and the candies. "....what were they doing there...?" I asked innocently when Aisling handed me the candies. I could practically taste it already. I suddenly seemed to enliven up at the sight of them. "Thank-you Aisling! For more than just this too..." I mumbled, opening the candy wrapper.

Margaret walked to Anthea. "There you are. What're you doing scaring off our prey?" She asked while grabbing a few Grape candies and a cherry lollipop for herself. "I still need my weapons fixed so don't go and pick too many fights until then." Margaret ordered.

  • Author

(Now I want something sweet...)

"Revenge? We did destroy Margret's weapons..." Aisling noted, grabbing a piece of the candy she popped it into her mouth, throwing the wrapper away she began putting the stuff she bought up, humming doing so.

"Aww...I like scaring them...they are way to easy to scare. Especially Kon to Kuro." Anthea sighed.

"Where are we gonna the weapons fixed?" she asked.

(Sorry Sodom, I got my computer back after like 2-3 months and I'm editing The Sacred Trinities before I move on to the next chapters)"Well yeah, but they were still trying to kill us even before...." I said quietly and looked at Aisling. "A thought just occured to me. Weren't we supposed to start sending that letter of yours, Aisling?" I asked bluntly, sucking on the candy that Aisling gave me. It was so delicious. Just wonderful...Margaret sighed, "I don't have a clue. I can just buy two sycthes and two shotguns and put them together myself." Margaret said and walked around towards some kind of gun shop first. "I personally think the kid's a bit easier to scare, while Kon to Kuro's funner. Now follow me...Koganeiro." Margaret scoffed after she spoke that title and walked inside the other shop.

  • Author

"Yes, Maragaret." Anthea sighed, running after her.

"Ohh! Margaret! This place is amazing! Can I get a weapon?" Anthea asked, looking at all of the weapons.

"Ahh! Yes! We were! Thanks Joshua!" Aisling said quickly. She finished putting the stuff up, running and grabbing her letter from the other room, she grabbed Josh's hand and ran out. Soon, they were on the road again and Aisling simply put the letter in the outbox.

"We also need to find someone that can fix the window..." she said.

Aisling grabbed Joshua's hand and began walking again. Something caught her attention. She saw a plane which was HUGE and it was flying their way to the larger cities, having the Natzi symbol on the side of the airplane. She brought Joshua closer too her, stopping in her tacks. Just then, a lack opened on the plane and three by three they fell. Great bombs, onto the small town.

Aisling thought fast, grabbing onto Joshua and pressing him against her body for protection, she rolled out of the way, the spot that they were standing had been covered by debris. She managed to keep Joshua safe though, not so lucky herself. Aisling had a scratch on hee head from some of the debris the scratch was bleeding some too.

"The Germans." she snapped.

Aisling picked Joshua up, he still pressed against her like Josh was a baby or something and she ran, stumbleing a bit because she began to get dizzy.

She passed by Anthea standing in an undamaged building, staring outside. Aisling gulped, and kept running. She tripped when she was on the road to her house, a bomb exploding in the nearby field. Tears started rolling down Aisling's face. Why were they doing this? Aisling opened her door and locked it behind her, running down to a separate cordor of rooms down stairs. She sat Joshua beside her, Aisling leaning against the wall, trying to catch her breath. Faint explosions could be heard from outside.

"A-Are you okay Joshua?" she asked, frightened, tears still flowing freely down her face.

Joshua did have some cuts...sadly Aisling couldn't protect him as well as she wanted too.

(Nazi symbol=Swastika, I'm doing a report on it. Or will do a report on it.)

Margaret chuckled at Anthea at first talking like a child whom recieved a slight manner of discipline. Then she went and got all childish...again. "Fine. Nothing too expensive though, Anthea. And if you decide to get a f*cking whip or snake-sword, you better know how to work the damn thing. You'll kill your self, or me." Margaret grumbled, glaring at Anthea coldly and seriously.

~Joshua~
I smiled innocently a little bit and followed Aisling. An ominous and foul smell littered the air, as if it was burning...no, burnt ashes of human carbon and sulfur. The smell and sight of smoke was also clouding the area. I shivered and trembled a bit subconsciously. "Yeah, I'm surprised no one's decided to steal from an open mansion-- except the guy who broke the window in the first place. I then walked along towards...home...at the same pace as Aisling. I shivered once and looked up, seeing small amounts of snow-like, but black ashes come down. "Zeppelins?" I asked rhetorically, looking up into the sky and seeing a zeppelin with a swastika symbol on it. The Nazis.

Gotta love these Japanese children's songs:

My eyes widened and my pupils shrunk at the sight. (The stories...they're all...true...?) I thought in incredible fear, even more so than with Margaret and Anthea. I was zoned out-- useless. Before I could even think about reacting, Aisling was saving me again. An ashy ember slowly falled onto my face, followed by an irritating few more. I felt weak and useless, not able to do anything right. I was just full of worry and fear, but nothing inside me to help stop all of that emotion. I didn't just think I was useless...I was useless. Falling debris and rubble would mildly fall and scrape my fragile skin, but the pain wasn't there, just the wounds. Aisling had brought me into the house now, and she opened a small cellar-- or basement and she carried me down. The pain finally struck into my mind, and my tears began to quietly flow. "N-now...I am...thank you Aisling." Joshua said quietly. "Th-thank you...!" He continued, embracing Aisling in a short but meaningful hug. He wiped the tears from his face, but they just flowed even more. "You're hurt though..."

Aisling gave a soft smile and a sigh.

"You are too a bit." she said, catching her breath, she stood up and held Joshua's hand, leading them down the hall lit with candels. Aisling opened up a door and sat Joshua down in a chair near a table and found a small bag. Aisling sat down beside Joshua and cleaned up his wounds first. A couple if tears were flowing down her face. After cleaning the third scratch, Aisling stopped and gripped onto the cloth she was cleaning the wounds with and stared at the ground.

"Sorry Joshua...I just...dont know why..." she said tearfully.

Anthea looked around the store. She stopped at something that was an Axe.

"Oh! What about this Margaret!?" she asked.

I glanced at my wounds as well with a deep breath. I followed Aisling through to another room quietly and sat down beside Aisling. "You were the one who saved us both though...you should be the one to feel--" I cut my own sentence short as Aisling cared about me more so than she did herself. She already began mending my wounds..."N-no Aisling...I should be the one sorry...Aisling. I reminded you of the letter and led us out to danger...I was the one who was rescued...I was the one who didn't do anything...I was the one...who found you and just caused trouble ever since we met! It's all my fault!" I said boldly and looked at Aisling, with fear still written all over my eyes. Clenching the end of the chair's armrest, I stood up and detached the collar from my neck. I knelt down and wiped blood off of Aisling, pressuring slightly to help close the small wounds. I continued on to all of her wounds without another word.Margaret stared down Anthea strangely. "The town was bombarded a minute ago, and you go pick up a damn axe? You're going to doom us all someday. Fine, you can have it." Margaret said, wiping off her small amounts of dripping blood and smeared gothic make-up. Margaret paid for the axe, two shotguns, and two scythes. Margaret quickly speed-walked out of the store and onto her motorcycle, igniting the motor. "Hurry and get the f*ck in. Do you have ANY idea what ashes will do to my hair? It's blonde too...." She grumbled.

  • Author

"Joshua...I would probably be dead by now if you haven't of found me." Aisling admitted.

"Dont push yourself to be a burden...I put others before myself...that is why you're feeling guilt. I am glad you reminded me of the letter...I would have forgot and would have felt like an idiot later....You are scared Joshua...It is written all over your face. It is okay now...okay?" Aisling said.

She was silent for a bit before speaking again.

"Thank you Joshua..." she said.

"Thank you Margaret! I will cause this town doom with joy." Anthea smiled as the twi walked out.

She looked around at the destroyed city.

"Oh! This is exciting! And my hair is blonde too so don't use that as an excuse." Anthea snapped, stepping into the side car, holding tightly onto her ripped stuffed animal rabbit.

I didn't know how to respond. After all, that thief might've come even if Aisling was there. Maybe. Aisling continued, and I just looked down to the ground as I resumed mending Aisling's wounds. Faintly blushing after Aisling mentioning my fear despite my attempt at looking a little less emotional, I looked up at Yuka again, innocently and fearfully as usual as of late. "....Okay...." I mumbled. "Your...welcome. And thank you...Aisling."Margaret sighed and growled quietly at the realization of this being the first time anyone's seen her without her gothic make-up since she was a child. "Whatever." Margaret responded bluntly. "Let's just get away from this ash."

Aisling stared at Joshua, noticing he was blushing a bit, made her slightly blush as well.

"Hey, don't think you can't do anything. You can fight Joshua. However, the Bibliotheca cannot help this. The Bibliotheca cannot stop a war." Aisling said a bit sadly.

"The 'Shadows' Case' is just more of a burden. We will see great change in the next couple of days. I need you to at least survive for me, okay? You don't need to talk to anyone you don't know unless I say it's okay. They will be after us. You are a Key Keeper, one capable of stopping the Shadows' Case. The Germans and victims of the Shadows' case will be after is." she said as Joshua finished mending her wounds.

Aisling was quiet for a moment.

"Now...what shall we do?" she asked.

"Aww....Margaret...you don't have any make-up on you fake human being..." Anthea mocked with a huge smile on her face that was hid by her stuffed animal.

(Once I get 30 seconds in this song, it makes me a little sad along with your post and my thoughts on that war):

I simply nodded to Aisling, but this time with a soft smile. It made me sad and I cried a bit-- both for sadness and happiness. "Of all people to be my biblioprincess, to be with me right now....I'm glad its you." I told Aisling a bit more warm-heartedly. "It might sound old by now, but...thank you. I'll do more than survive right now, Aisling...." I said, looking down and holding the collar I used to wipe off Aisling's blood. "I'll have to protect you now, not just the other way around. We'll be with your grandparents....and we'll survive the war. And maybe...we'll meet your father along the way. You and your family...is my family now, okay, Aisling?" I asked with a small smile and a grip on the collar in my left hand and the Bibliotheca's key in my right.

"Maybe we will see my father...." Aisling wondered aloud.

"Okay Joshua...It is okay." she smiled.

Aisling stood up, grabbing Joshua's hand, the bombing had stopped and the two made their way upstairs. She set him down at the table, grabbing two buns she pretty much stole from one of the markets, she handed one to Joshua.

"It's pretty late..." she noted.

(I swear one of my favorite OST's in all of the anime I've watched, that ONE OST, was NEVER and probably WILL NEVER be released to the public. And fanmade versions aren't half as good. I'm dying.... It did make me realize how obsessed I am with video game and anime soundtracks though...)

Before taking a bite, I did feel a bit curious: "Oh, thanks, but...when did you get these?" I asked simplistically and bubbly. "Yeah, we should probably sleep soon...or...at least try..." I mumbled seemingly a bit pessimistically, but it was truthful as well. (Why is this world...so...well, like this? The Germans are getting completely rid of all the Jews in this world...for no good reason. There's less good than bad here, even the Salem Witch Trials killed tons of innocents. What has this world come to be...?) I thought, looking up where the zeppelins would normally be, before finally taking a small nibble out of the bun.

"Quiet." Margaret ordsered with a growl and a cruel glare. "Aren't you a bit old for that toy?" Margaret asked.

  • Author

"No I'm not....Aren't you to young to be killing people?" Anthea asked slyly.

"You really weren't paying attention..." Aisling lied with a smile.

Damn wasn't it hard to eat when you were scared to death your house is going to blow up. Aisling only finished half of her bread before throwing away.

"You're paranoid..." she said.

(Have you ever watched Hetalia, Sodom? I just started, and its funny in really strange ways)"Tch...." Margaret complaint, "No. I'm not." Margaret sighed and glared coldly at Anthea before turning and paying more attention to the road. "Is your toy too young to be thrown out a road and demolished with a shotgun?" She asked with one finger on the trigger of a shotgun."I'll...concentrate next time..." I mumbled sarcastically, taking another mere nibble out of the bread. In truth, I wasn't that hungry, but it's not like my stomach was exploding. I then looked at Aisling, (That was a bit random...) I thought with a sigh, she was kind of right, but I couldn't help it. "Well....sorry, Aisling..." I innocently apologized for being paranoid.

  • Author

(I have seen memes of Hetalia...it is funny...)

"No! Don't you dare Margaret! Do you want me to jump out this car again and run away!?" Anthea yelled, pitching a fit like a little kid.

"If you're really that creeped out and afraid that our house is going to explode in the middle of the night and you end up dieing with it, then if you have to you could stay in my room." Aisling said, sitting down and grabbing the Crown of the Dog Days.

Margaret thought for a second, "Hmm..." she thought aloud, "I suppose I'll have to mull it over and answer that question later." She finished with a pokerface.(I can't think of anything to say...) I thought and sighed. "....." There was a near minute of silence as I went over and slowly got the Darkside of Janurary, then walking over to my room. "....." I walked towards the hallway of the room slowly and seriously. "........Sure." I said simplistically and quietly as I headed to my room and lied down with a sigh.

Aisling was silent. She walked over and stood at the door to Joshua's room.

"I know you're scared Joshua...my older brother...just after we figured out about the Shadows' Case, I was frightened. He let me sleep beside him and that calmed me down a lot. It calmed him down too. I felt safe. And right now Joshua...you don't feel safe. I can tell Josh." Aisling said seriously.

She hated to recall her older brother.

"I'm afraid too Joshua...that is partly why I want you by my side." she admitted, clenching the spine of the book.

I walked over to the door, hearing Aisling come. With my hand on the doorknob I froze and heard Aisling's words. She never ceased to making me feel sad and guilty even more...but it was a good thing, at least with Aisling. I smiled faintly with blush, but opened the door. "I guess you always know the right things to say..." I said with a smile and a tear of joy. "It must've been painful to mention your brother..." I walked out of my room and shut the door, standing in front of and slightly below Aisling. "I know I feel the same way..." I said quietly and looked up Aisling. "But I don't know why...you feel more like family...than my family did. I just...feel safer around you." I said and looked over to the direction of Aisling's room. "Well...let's go. Its getting late." I said and held Aisling's hand.

"Joshua....just rely on me if you're upset, okay?" Aisling said with the slightest smile.

She lead Joshua to her room, once Joshua was inside the room, Aisling grabbed her night clothes and went to her bathroom to change. Once she was done getting dressed, she sat at the foot of her bed, looking to Joshua. She was only mentally tired at the moment.

"Oh-- Okay..." I said silently and walked along with Aisling to her room. I looked around the room a little bit as it was slightly different and a bit bigger. As Aisling went to change, I lied on one side of the bed, clearly not taking up very much space. I was used to sleeping in my regular clothes, and I was comfortable with it. I did have sleeping clothes as a younger child but since then, I slept in my everyday clothes without much strife, despite my everyday clothes being more formal than other's. I covered myself in the blankets and closed my eyes trying to sleep already. I used a spare pillow as if it was a stuffed animal to feel more comfortable and fidgeted around every minute or so to get comfortable, before finally getting into a worthwhile position. "I wonder how your grandparents are...and if they'll get the letter soon...especially after the Germans came around...." I said as I turned to the direction of the wall and tried sleeping again.
