I'm here to talk about the GBA version alone, not the PS2 release. I'm viewing this game from a content point of view, and just how amazing it was despite the limitations of the console it was released on. Playing through the game again, I realize just how similar Chain of Memories is compared to the rest of the series. To start, you have a full-length storyline to play, plus an extra side game, along with 13 worlds to fight your way through. And the battle system-- the Game Boy Advance is limited to just 6 buttons including the Start and Select buttons, and a 4-way directional pad. Yet somehow the developers managed to squeeze Dodge Roll, Jump, and a deck full of cards to use in game. Also, you will find that many of the commands used in Re:Coded, Birth by Sleep, and Dream Drop Distance originated from the many sleights in Chain of Memories. The soundtrack in game was the best that the GBA could handle, and I still found it to be enjoyable. I'm not even going to list anything further, rather I challenge you to play through the game and look very closely at just how well this game was made.
