The Experiment ((RolePlay)) -- Part 1

Posted

Okay, I’m going to reiterate the scenarios and add a wee bit more detail to each. Then the rules, and then I’ll start off. If you want to see the original scenarios or anything else, the link is below to the signup.

http://kh13.com/forum/topic/47177-the-experiment-signups/

VOLUNTEER (PROGRAMMERS)::

  “You will be given 1 assignment per week, complete the assignment, or 5 million dollars is removed from your reward. The faster you complete it, the better off you are.” the voice chimed, seemingly happily. “You control the weather, the animals, natural disasters. However, you all have the same island. If one of you makes it rain, everyone’s island rains. Work together or apart, it is your choice.” the voice said, smug and almost condescendingly. “Good luck, to all. Let your games begin.”

FORCED (SIMULATIONS)::

  “You will be given one hint, per week. And two guesses as to who your programmer is, total. If you do not guess correctly, you will remain here, on the island, until someone wins. Be aware, you cannot talk to each other, and your programmer is someone with a connection to you. Good luck, subjects.” The voice said, before a ringing came into the earpiece seemingly embedded in your ear.

Upon standing up, you can see three small backpacks, with names on them. You recognize one as yours. There is a small note attached,

“This is your backpack, care for it, as it will hold everything you may need. Choose what you put in it wisely, keep your clues, or throw them out, carry food or water. but you can only carry one. Choose wisely.”

ROLEPLAY RULES:: I've bolded the important parts, but read the whole thing.

-- Do not, I repeat--do NOT--kill anyone. Period. Whether you have their permission or not, this isn’t a killing roleplay.

-- This is also not a romantic or a friendship roleplay. This is a survival roleplay, and should be treated as such. No romance. I guess you CAN flirt, but that’s not going to do anything. Remember, only the Programmers can talk to each other as they all share a language.

-- Do not post in a different language Simulations. I can only read English, and that’s the only language we really need. Just know, you can’t talk to each other. Or, you can, but it wouldn’t make sense to either of you.

-- All people are ‘trapped’. The Programmers get food and drink, and potty breaks, but really, they can’t leave their computers. Their roleplaying should be focused on what they think of the experiment, and what they do with it. Unless you’re conversing with the other members, there isn’t really an ‘outside world’.

-- Out of character chat relating to the roleplay should take place in parenthesis IN the roleplay. If it doesn’t relate to the roleplay, or you’re just commenting on something the roleplay made you think, or do, or act… It can go in an instant message or on the signup sheet.

-- Don’t hassle others to reply. In turn, reply. Don’t wait for a week and not reply, if you do not reply in 1 and 1/2 weeks (Unless I’m notified you cannot, or the other members are notified.) you will be removed, and your character replaced.

-- The only people who control the weather are the Programmers, I cannot step in and make it rain, they change it, they also can make trees grow fruits, and animals have babies and exist. They cannot however, write, talk, or communicate to the Simulations in ANY way.

-- I will NOT be winning. Since I know who is my programmer, it’s not fair for me to figure it out. There is only 1 winner. Not 1 for each group, 1.

-- You can NOT go back and reference clues you throw out. Meaning, work with what you’ve got. You can retain a clue for 3 days following when you pick it up, unless it is placed in your backpack. You can either carry all your clues, or 3 small items. It is your choice.

-- And, last but not least, this roleplay takes place in real time. Based off of Eastern Standard Time. That’s the east coast of North America. If you need a basis, ask, I’ll give you their time.

SIGNED UP::

Programmers:: (The stuff in parenthesis is your task this week. It's like a cool title. )

  • Amber Ashley (The Banisher)
  • Bowen Korber (The Adult)
  • Van Fabre (The Protector)

Simulations::

  • Tessaline Lien (Italian)
  • Silver Mors (French)
  • Cassidy Kingly (English)

Now let's start!

Tessaline slowly climbed to her feet, looking around her. "Oh look, backpacks." she said, as though annoyed. She had sand covering her and all over her clothes. She looked like a wreck. "Isn't this just greeeaaaat?" she grumbled, walking over to the backpacks.

...

Upon reading the note attached she frowned thinking, 'Well, if I take my clues, I won't be able to carry water. And that one survival guy on TV always says water is important. I guess I'll figure out how to carry water and food in my bag. Water, food, and maybe there will be space for a tool or something.' She then slung the empty backpack over her shoulders, and glanced back at the other two. 'Who are those two? Why am I here? Why are they here?' she wondered, curiously watching the strangers.

Invoking fear into the simulations would be slightly difficult since I couldn't manipulate anything, but I could call upon my creations I had made much earlier. The lions. I typed in a command in a computer and roars could be heard throughout the island. Attack Cassidy was what I had typed in. She obviously knew of my presence by now, so hopefully she would get the gist that I was the one forcing the lions to attack, and hopefully she'd get scared and there-go I would succeed in my task. Two lions ran out of the forest and began creeping up upon Cassidy stealthily, ready to pounce. "Attack..." I whispered into the microphone.

A solid crack rung in her ears while she backed away from the large cats. "Oh boy they want me dead don't they? Well thought luck I won't die easily. With a clue to help me." Backing up the second cat didn't draw closer yet. It companion dead on the ground. A overly large rock sitting not far away covered in crimson. "Okay kitty let's play. You loose your my food for tonight." This wasn't going to be easy for her. So it wouldn't be easy for them. That and she'd seen worse then kitties in her lifetime. They could at least make it unusual.

Tessaline slowly walked through the forest, trailing her fingers on the trees as she went. She was hungry, starving. And would need to find something to eat, fast. She looked around, looking for fruits, berries, any plant she could recognise.

But there was nothing. "Guess I have to fish... Or hunt." She muttered, walking through the undergrowth, towards a river, that ran through the island.

She killed it, just as I had intended her to. Now here was where I could really scare the living hell out of her. I typed in a command into the computer, then slightly grinned. The word, "Revive", sat on the top of the screen. Suddenly, the lion she had killed got back up to its feet and let out a vicious roar. It growled as two more lions ran out of the forest. I mumbled to myself, "Cassidy, are you fearing us yet?"

Van watched as what he presumed to be one of the programmers creating lions, and sicking them upon one of the simulations.

"Sorry..." Van whispered, typing in the command: //:Delete_lions(3). With that, the lions should no longer should be a problem. "Grr...I hate this..I don't like interfering with someone's work...but I have to do it." Van continued complaining, knowing full well everything he said was being heard by someone. He turned his gaze to the other simulations, one who appeared to begin hunting.

"The Laws have to be followed." Van said with a sigh.

Tessaline stumbled on a rock. She had been walking, slowly, but steadily. She had arrived at the edge of the river. And was looking around for food, or fish, or anything she could eat. It was then that she saw a fish in the river.

Tessaline snatched at it, missing, and then settled down, on her hands and knees, her arm reached out over the water, ready to attempt to catch a fish.

"It's like hell but three times worse." Taking the stick in a more solid grip she turned while sighing. 'Watch out for big cats. Don't be surprised if they suddenly disappear.' Her emotions where in a messy jumble between everything. 'When do I get clue number two? Then maybe I can get out of here?' At this point her only safe point was speaking in her head. The one thing they can't know even if they knew that they were real.

(( Editing in new tasks. However, for now, there are no tasks today. ))

A voice comes on into the programmer's headset. "Today, is a reset day. All abilities have been restored, and set back to normal levels. May I congratulate you, as one of you has succeeded in your task. And there is no penalty."
