I like the game and all but I'd say it's not one of the best. The game was blend and quick, I was expecting more since it was involving the exam...but I was heavily disapointed. I spent the kids christmas break refreshing my memory and playing through all KH titles(except BBS because JPSP was slow at the time, though I had the game at one point)and was excited when I got it in January.
The boss battles were disappointing...and the way you level up to get skills is very annoying and tedious. Playing with your damn dream eater to get good skills takes more time then beating the world you're in. Each world is like 15 mins without interuptions...and flowmation can get you killed and becomes weak.
I was expecting more when fighting Xemnas, the Ansem battle wasn't bad I suppose it was better than Xemnas but still disapointing. I hereby remain to the fact that BBS is much better, better skills, plot development and learning the skills is fun as well. Just go to the arena and you're all good. It's hard to choose between which one I like most out of KH2 and BBS though I'd say the first game is ranked in 3rd place.
That said, Dream Drop Distance isn't terrible, but it isn't spectacular either.
