Bowser's Inside Story or Partners in Time?

Posted

My kid sister loves Paper Mario Sticker Star for my 3DS, so I was wanting to get her something similar for her DS lite.  It seems the Mario & Luigi games are similar, but which one do you think is most similar to Paper Mario: Bowser's Inside Story, or Partners in Time?  Which one had better gameplay?  She's not very interested in the storyline, really, but is all about gameplay.

I'd say partner's in time is better overall. Baby mario and baby luigi in the game ftw.

Neither of them are "completely" similar to paper mario sticker star. If you wanted similar to that I'd actually recommend the other paper mario games but out of the choices given I'd say partner's in time is more like it.

Is there a Paper Mario game for the DS?  If so that'd be perfect; I just didn't think one existed...

nope :/

Just n64, thousand year door on the gamecube and sticker star on the 3ds unfortunately.

Ah, okay; thought so.  I've got Paper Mario for the N64, but I was wanting to get something for her DS lite that she'd enjoy.  (Mostly so I can stop fearing for my 3DS's life when it's not in my hands, haha!)

Super Star Saga was by FAR the best of the 3 Mario & Luigi RPG games, but it was on GBA. I would have to go with PiT though. Being inside Bowser and playing as him was kind of annoying. But BIS was easier, in my opinion, than PiT.

There was a Wii one as well. I believe it was called Super Paper Mario

If you're looking for a similiar Paper Mario game then I'd recommend getting PM: TTYD and PM64.

I actually hadn't realized Super Star Saga existed, *sheepish grin*.  Many thanks for the suggestion!  I haven't played any of the games myself, but the thought of being INSIDE Bowser sounded a tad unappealing... ;)  How's the difficulty level for Super Star Saga?  Was it decent?  Also, is there much reading required in these games?  My sister can read, but she gets fed up when there's mass amounts of text to go through (she doesn't mind the dialogue in games, but if you MUST read everything said that might become too much).

I've got it for the N64; I'm mainly looking for a game for my sister's DS Lite so I can get my 3DS back. :P

The difficulty depends. How old is she? I've had the game for a long ass time but I was very young and couldn't beat it until I picked it up again a few years later. Honestly, the third one (BIS) was the easiest for sure. I beat it in like two days (and it came out on my birthday!). SS is on GBA and some things were pretty difficult, like the Oasis part. It overall a solid game though; my favourite GBA game of all time. There is a lot of dialogue in all games, seeing as they are RPGs and their really isn't a reminder in SS that tells you what you need to do. In PiT, every time you load/save the game, there is a scrolling message on the top screen, I believe) that pretty much hints what you need to though. For me, PiT was the hardest one. So for SS you sort of need to read what they say, but the interactions between Mario & Luigi make me laugh to this day, and I'm 16 :P. Now that I think about it, that hardest thing about PiT was the final boss. The rest was sort of a breeze. I would recommend getting all of them, but if you had to choose one, I would go with Superstar Saga but I could have a bias for it. Being inside Bowser in BIS was definitely a turn off in that game haha

in my opinion  Partners in Time was better, my autistic brother loved it , so it might be right for your sister

Yes, though the wii one didn't even have a similar battle system. It was more of a platformer than an rpg when it came to battling so I left that one out.

For me BIS is better. PIT is fun, but too short, BIS is longer and I like the story better. Sure, there are parts that are a bit annoying (like in every game) but it has great momments too. And also because you can control Bowser, which is interesting, different and fun. The two games are really good, but I prefer BIS.

Yeah that game is like Dragon Ball GT in the Dragonba universe. It should be considered non-canon xD
