I know you can use reeking boxes but the profit is usually just a 1000 gold ( BTW a good tip instead of brave swords buy eirikas blade from her spotpass)

There's a DLC called "Golden Gaffe" that lets you get a large amount of gold. If your characters are strong enough then you can get 80,000 gold if you even attempt it once.
