Its this funny and heartrending RPG video game series that was created by Nintendo. It is very similar to Pokemon in many ways, especially since the people who made Pokemon also made the Earthbound games.

 

They're basically about Kids who have Psychic powers(Or as its called, PSI, which is this games version of Magic) and meet friends on the way who join them in the fight against the biggest threat to the planet. (It varies on the game, in some games its about Aliens, while in another, its about this Time Traveling Insane person who turns the Main character's home into a nightmare)

 

This would actually be probably the Darkest Nintendo series ever made, in all honesty. When you see what some of the games bosses are, and some of the storylines, you'll see what i mean.

 

But it also happens to be the one Nintendo series that is no longer in production, and that Nintendo hates with all its might. It only brought one of the games to US, and the others stayed in Japan, while in Europe they didn't even get the games at all. If this series was made by Square, it wouldve done Infinitely better.

 

It's pretty popular in Japan even now, but only few people know about it, and even less of us like the series.

I've heard of it. I have (sadly) never played it before but I did watch a playthrough of Earthbound and Mother 3 (fan translation version). Mother 3 was awesome to watch so I'll probably play that one day hopefully.

Check out the Youtube link first and get an Emulator and a ROM. The guy makes it very easy to follow. After you get the Mother 3 ROM, go to Mother 3. fobby. net and then it'll show you how to patch the ROM in English.

To start, I must say they are some of the best RPG ever, the story is amazing, the villains are amazing, the side characters are amazing.

If you want to start play Mother 2, its amazing, then Mother 3 and then if you really are bored play mother 1.

Unfortunately, I cannot.  I'd written about it in a conglomerate article of the top 30 RPGs of all time for a site called RantGaming.com, but the site failed to thrive and has been taken off the internet.  I do believe I still have a copy of it on my hard drive, though, if you'd still like to read it I could PM it to you.  The Earthbound section is only about 300 words long, though; I'd written about several other games in the article.

I beat Mother 3 a while ago(on emulator) and it was EPIC,I didn't expected much from the game at first,but the story is really good and I don't understand why it never came here.
