Seriously, though, it's getting annoying how many so-called fans I see complaining about the DLC. Let me explain:
This is content that is released for OPTIONAL purchase. They cost less than a candy bar and are OPTIONAL for you to buy. If you don't like the costumes, then whoopdy doo, you don't have to buy it.
Plus, these costumes have more value than they are worth, despite what people say. Of course, The ones that feature attires that are actually relevant to the story (i.e. ANBU, "Sannin Era", Road To Ninja, Akatsuki Hats, etc), memorable ones from Naruto OP/END animations (i.e. School Outfits, Kimono Sasuke, etc) and ones that make the male fans get hot (i.e. Swimsuits) are untouchable... but if we see a costume with Naruto dressed like a pirate, HO-HO, people get pissed. Let's clear something up: those costumes were taken from artbooks done by Kishimoto himself (Kimono Naruto was actually from an OP/END, too; Napoleon Sasuke was just for fun, though. lol) and intended to spread international love. What, are you saying that's a bad thing? No love for other nations? There's fans of Naruto in more countries than Merica and Japan, ya know. -__-
I'll give you this, though: Hello Kitty Sakura... yeah, I can't defend that. I really can't. The only thing I have to say is think of the "Sasuke's Paw Encycolpedia" episode of Shippuden and laugh.
And I'll level with you: We can't have Taka cloaks for Jugo, Suigetsu, or Karin. We can't have Hidan and Kazuku in their normal cloaks. We can't have Kakashi without his jacket on, or Chiyo and Kimmimaro with Edo Tensei eyes, or anything else like that. Why? NOBODY CARES.
Listen, I'm as OCD as the next guy--no wait, I'm MORE OCD than the next guy. I'd want this kinds of costumes to be in here too... but you have to understand, NOBODY is going to pay money, as miniscule as it is, to pay for those kinds of costumes. They pay money to see Naruto in a Goku outfit, you know, something that actually grabs you visually and something that's not done by giving the original model a few tweaks. That's just boring. And you know what? People would STILL bitch about it because they would accuse CC2 of being LAZY. -_-
Mind you, CC2 has to appeal to more than just one person, Not just those who are hardcore fans of the series and want EVERY SINGLE costume from EVERY SINGLE fight in the series with EVERY SINGLE fricking detail for each one. Okay. That's just not a good business strategy. If you ask me, that kind of stuff should ALREADY be in the game. But its not. But you know what? Oh well. I'm not gonna let a costume get in the way of enjoying the experience of the rest of the game.
And LBH: Do you REALLY want Taka to have their cloaks? Really? Do you even USE them online, or in general? I haven't seen one person use anyone from Taka OR any of the characters that these fans are bitching about that don't have certain costumes. What, am I wrong? Say it. Say it right here. Tell me you'd rather play as Taka in their cloaks rather than, idk, Nagato or Madara... yeah. That's what I f**king thought.
SIDE NOTE: Karin, for one, shouldn't even be a playable character OR have the standard jutsu she has. (Perfume? Really?) In fact, UNS2 should have had her as a support and have someone like Konohamaru take her spot on the roster, leaving Karin (with her ability shown in UNS3's story mode) to be on a list of supports like Iruka and Ebisu... BUT, that is a story for another day.
Last thing: even if we DID get all these costumes that many, many fans have asked for... it won't be enough. It won't. If we get Jugo in his cloak, people will bitch that he doesn't have his Sage Mode from the Raikage fight. If we get, idk, Orochimaru an Akatsuki cloak, people are still going to bash his Ougi and say that his UNS1 version was better. If we give (this will never happen in a million years, but hypothetically) Tobi his "Maskless" outfit, then people will bitch that he "doesn't have Wood Style" or "doesn't have a jutsu relating to the Juubi" or some shit.
You see, ladies and jellyfish, the DLC cycle has spun out of control. We either have jerky developers screwing their fans over with some kind of DLC loophole OR we have jerky fans acting like spoiled brats over the fact that they can't always get what they want. The latter, of course, applys to UNS3. Even in a world where game developers allow their fans to send them feedback, we can't please everyone. Granted, nobody can be truly satisfied with anything, but still, there's a limit to how low we can stoop before we start being plain selfish. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, and for the love of God, if you don't like the costumes so much, enjoy the rest of what the game has to offer, like the Story Mode's boss battles or the new outfits and characters that this game has. Seriously.
I know this doesn't apply to everybody, in fact, It's nice to know that there are few people on this particular site that can be grouped into the category as "bitchers". HOWEVER, I'm simply here to give an opinion and an analysis. In fact, if you know someone like this, go ahead and copy & paste this little diddy onto to an email and send it to them.
