There is no debating the worldwide success of the iconic Pokemon franchise but despite millions of fans, thousands of petitions and an undisclosed number of emails, we’ve yet to see any light at the end of the tunnel for Pokemon MMO fans. We’ve seen a fair few fan-made projects come to light in recent years and more are released on a regular basis.

We’ve previously discussed PokemoniumPokemon World Online and Pokemon Creed, but a brand new browser MMO game based on the Pokemon universe has recently enjoyed a surge in popularity.

Monster MMORPG is a relatively new browser Pokemon game but with a difference. Unlike the other games featured in this article Monster MMORPG attempts to bring a bit of innovation and a unique factor to the online world of Pokemon. Instead of copying the maps and monsters directly from the game, the developers have sought the help of various DeviantArt artists to bring brand new ideas and environments to life.

There’s dozens of previously unseen Pokemon-esque monsters and the game includes most of the features that make the franchise so popular. Catch and train a huge variety of monsters, battle other players in PvP and build your PokeDex. It’s all there. If you’re interested in experiencing this unique browser game you can visit the official website here.

I think I may try this

Sounds interesting. I remember back when I played Pokemon World Online, I had a lot of fun with that one. Still hoping Gamefreak will make an official MMO at some point, though.
