So as I'm sure you've heard Herobyte, the guy who leaked the entire B/W Pokedex before release, has now leaked the Sylveon may indeed be a new type, but not the oft-rumored Light-Type so many expected. Instead, this new type is supposedly called the Fairy type.

 

I'm wondering what you guys think of having Fairy as a new Pokemon type. Personally I like the Idea of a new type. We haven't had one since Gen II. and it would be nice to shake things up again. I also like the sound of Fairy-Type. I see it as functioning like the Normal type but geared toward Special Attacks. It could encompass Pokemon inspired, not just by Fairies, but all mythological creatures. Except Dragons of course. (hoping for a Fairy/Water-Type mermaid Pokemon) It would be cool if it was weak against Poison and Steel-Types (because Fairies are typically nature spirits) and strong against Grass and Water-Types (Because Fairies sometimes have the power to control nature) I'd also like it to be super-effective against Dragon-Types because they need to be taken down a peg and what better to subdue one magical creature than another?

 

So what do you all think? Would you like this to be a new type. What weaknesses/strengths should it have? How should it play? Do you hope they change the name in localization? Do you want a different new type? Do we even need a new type? Do you not care either way?  Are all of these questions annoying you? Tell me.

I like the idea but I hope that Sylveon isn't it. I want my flying eeveelution. I think the strenghts would be dark and ghost and weaknesses would be dark and psychic. If it happens I want it to be called fairy type worldwide but it's highly unlikely. I don't want a different new type nor do I think we need one. These questions are not annoying me.

And do you have a source for this so called Fairy-type rumour? I heard a bunch of people mentioning before the same thing but I can't seem to find the source.

Fairy Type seems kind of cool, I'd like to see the special attack sweeper version of Normal. But Xerneas being a Fairy Type? I don't even know...I hope it's a Fairy/Steel atleast. I was hoping for Grass/Steel, Water/Steel, Light (as one of the fan theory types)/Steel but just Fairy seems a bit iffy. 

 

This also breaks the streak that the 2 legendary mascots (not counting 3rd versions) have a same number of types (2 for Yveltal and 1 for Xerneas)

I don't really want it, but if it happens I'll accept it as it will add more competitive value.
