Knack looks amazing. Seriously. If you haven't seen the trailer...WATCH IT!

Why am I excited for a game like this? Well, not only because Mark firetruckING Cerny. But it reminds of a time when games weren't taken so seriously. When they were more lighthearted and fun. Like Crash Bandicoot or Jak and Daxtor. (Go figure!) Games now are starting to just get to realistic. I like video games because they take me out of the real world. Into more of a fantasy. But now it seems like most games nowadays focus on realism. Don't get me wrong. I like realist games to a point. I enjoyed Metal Gear Rising. But it just seems most games are heading that direction and taking the fun out of it. Maybe I am alone on this. I don't know. I just hope Knack is great and really fun. I am hoping more games head in the same sort of direction.

I loved Crash Bandicoot...And yeah the game looks fun

Looks like it will be a bit of a fun way to start off the PS4.

Got some news so I figured I'd go ahead and make a discussion thread for the game.

For those who haven't seen it here's the trailer

And we now have story details which can be read below

Knack, the first PlayStation 4 game to ever be shown, is an interesting project, not least because of the main behind the game – Sony’s own Mark Cerny – is the one largely responsible for shaping the new console’s hardware specs.

The first details on the game have emerged today, as website Gaming Everything has picked up info from this month’s Game Informer magazine.

In terms of plot, it seems that Knack was created by a scientist, and tells the story that humans and goblins have lived together in harmony for years. Goblins, for some reason, have obtained military vehicles and Knack (and his team) have been tasked with finding out how they got them.

Trying to pull one thing from the info for the headline was tough – there’s little meat here – but in terms of the actual gameplay hopefully you’ll all already be aware that Knack is built from little crystals which can be added together to change his size, appearance and abilities.

Up to 5,000 of these crystals can added together, and Knack can – perhaps excitingly – grow up to 30 feet tall. Additional moves come from ‘sunstones’ and one such move is a ‘shockwave’ melee attack. The game is a mix of platforming and fighting.

Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida said that Knack was the result of Sony trying to move away from the identikit titles that have slowly taken over this generation. “We hate to see all the PS4 games being FPS or action-adventure or very photorealistic,” he said back in February.

Honestly this game looks like it will be amazing.
