Not many can tell, but demons run amuck in this world. Only a select few can see them; and an even smaller number keep them contained. However, such is done under selfish purposes. The Organization of Demon Death Sentences (ODDS) seeks to destroy every demon they can to harvest the powerful, multi-purpose energy they release: deimya. The latest member to the Organization, Akito Naizaka, shows great promise... and innocence. It is yet to be seen how much ODDS will be able to manipulate him.

     – Compact Mode (4 inch cylinder)

     – Extended Mode (6 foot staff with pointed tip)

     – Reaper Mode (scythe add-on to Extended Mode)

     – Ender Mode (Extended Mode's tip detaches, revealing a thin blade to be wielded along with the pointed tip; each piece  approximately 1 meter in length)

"Honestly, I don't get it too much myself." Akito said. He pulled some trail mix from his bag. He hadn't eaten in a while so he decided to curb his hunger a little bit. It was confirmed that Kotori was no ordinary demon so hopefully she wasn't one to feast upon human souls. He offered the bag to her. "Hungry?"

Kotori turned around once Akito asked his last question.

"Food?!" She asked a bit surprised.

Yes, real food. Kotori hasn't ate real food for a while....she's had to actually consume the souls of the small things she's found.

"Yes please!" Kotori said quickly.

Akito smirked as he handed the bag to the young demon. "Help yourself."

Akito leaned back against the wall. Boy he felt tired. The decision of resting his eyes immediately became sleep.

"Thank you Akito!" Kotori said happily, sitting down right in front of Akito as he sat down.

She began looking through the bag, finding some crackers. Kotori stared at Akito, for now he was asleep. The best thing to do was to let him sleep. She bit into one cracker before standing up and wondering around the building.

Akito's eyes snapped open. He stood. "Kotori?" He began to search the building and quickly found her. He pulled out Nightmare Ender and extended it pointing at her. "Kotori." He said seriously. "Tell me, how can I trust you? How do I not know you have some spell causing me to help you like this? Because without it, you'd be dead. Tell me before I fix that!" His grip tightened.

The cracker in Kotori's hand broke, crumbling to the ground.

"W-What do you mean Akito?" she asked.

Her eyes became dazed and she unsheathed her sword, demonic energy surrounding her.

"You're going to kill me...Akito? I haven't done anything..." Kotori said rather sadly, the crumbles on the ground became ice along with the ground below her.    

"I'm very much ready to kill you, Kotori, that much I can say." Akito's hand was shaking. "Just give me one reason not too!" A tear fell from his eye. "Tell me... please. Do any of us need to strike each other down?"

"You wouldn't be able to kill me...would you...Akito?" Kotori asked, looking at Akito.

"I'll help you Akito. I won't let your boss kill you." she said seriously.

"Only because you don't want to die yourself. Prove to me I'm doing this of my own free will!"

It was too much contraversy. Akito dropped his staff and fell to the floor, having collapsed from stress and mental exhaustion.

The ice below Kotori vanished, she sheathed her sword and kneeled down beside Akito. A simple sigh left her mouth. Carefully, she dragged Akito to where he was laying against the wall. Kotori simply sat down and bit into a new cracker.

Akito's eyes fluttered open. "Kotori, don't move." He ordered. "Don't even make a sound."

He waited... listened. There was something. He could sense it. He stood. A seemingly natural shadow rose out of the ground and began to take shape. "Friend of yours?" He asked his demonic companion.

(God I have to post on...everything. This is the best thing ever yet the worst thing imaginable)

 

"One problem Akito...." Kotori muttered.

"I don't have any friends, sadly you're the only one." she said seriously.

"Didn't think so." Nightmare Ender went into Reaper Mode and Akito ran it straight through the shadow, dividing it in two. "Ha! That wasn't hard at all!" Akito laughed. He compressed his scythe and held one end in each hand. He braced himself as he twisted one side one way, the other, the opposite. There was a loud screech as a small compartment opened up in the capsule and the demon turned to ash as it was absorbed into Akito's weapon. "Different victims provide different magic." He said to Kotori. "I can't let ODDS get ALL the deimya can I?"

He paused for a moment... "Friend..." He placed a hand on the demonic girl's shoulder. "Kotori," he said, looking deep into her eyes, "I've made my decision. We're going to survive. I'm going to help you, you're going to help me. We're in this together."

Kotori felt her face go red in a blush.

"T-thank you Akito...." she said a bit quietly, trying to look away from him.

Akito quickly turned and examined the room they were in. "I wonder if they'll find us..." He said. "I wouldn't be surprised if we've run out of time by now." He turned back to face Kotori. "We're probably going to have to fight soon." He told her. "Be it against your kind or mine, it'll be soon."

"We're going to have to fight?" Kotori asked, looking up at Akito a bit nervously.

"They will most likely find us..." she muttered.

"We'll be fine." Akito assured as he continued to wander the room. "I've got new magic on my side, and more importantly," he looked to Kotori, "I've got you." He paused for a moment before continuing in a more nonchalant tone. "Which haves me thinking, if we're going to be fighting for our lives, you and me, together, maybe we should get to know each other better." He pulled over a dusty chair and sat down, legs crossed, one elbow on his thigh, chin in his hand. "So, Kotori," he started, "why don't you tell me about yourself?"

(Is that like your signature sitting position or something....? I sit like L from Death Note...)

 

"I barely remember what happened to me. I remember an attack...and that's basically it. I need to find two people...my parents..." Kotori said a bit sadly.

"So ya. That's basically it. I don't really know much about what happened." she said, looking at Akito.

"Pity..." Akito said quietly. "I don't exactly know much about my past either..." He gave himself a mental shake, pulling his attention away from the hole in his personal timeline. "What can you tell me about you now, though? Who exactly are you?"

"I have already told you who I am, Akito. I am Kotori Motoyo. A demon who doesn't have grudges against humans. There is my answer. I control darkness and of course ice. Also empathy and as you've seen teleportation." Kotori said seriously, keeping her eyes on Akito. 

"Darkness is new." Akito commented. "And empathy... wait... HA! So you HAVE been in my head!" He accused with a hint of humor.

Kotori glared at Akito.

"It isn't that funny. And no, every demon can control darkness. Some more then others." she said, crossing her arms.

"I'm being serious too." Kotori snapped.

"Fine, fine. I'm sorry." Akito said. It felt good to be light-hearted again. He twirled around his compact Nightmare Ender. "Every demon has darkness, eh? Hopefully this new magic isn't too basic then." He pressed the button to extend his weapon. "I can't see my staff." He said bluntly, almost sounding disappointed. "Or my hand." He had turned invisible.
