My little curiosities about KH.

Posted

(For those of you wondering why I had 3 short questions at the top that basically summed up what I was talking about, I thought of all this while in the middle of playing KH and I didn't want to forget it.  I barely managed to remember the Donald/Daisy thing because I waited too long before making this xD I put those at the top just so I wouldn't forget, and I had every intention of deleting them.  Of course, I forgot xD)

So I've been having questions as I've been playing Kingdom Hearts 1 at the moment, possibly some things other people have speculated about.   Maybe they are even plot holes, I don't know.  I just tend to think about them whenever I come across them.  I suppose I'll dive right in :D

One of the first things that always bugs me a bit is during the end of Deep Jungle, Jane suddenly understands what Tarzan means when he is speaking gorilla.  It is so random and out of the blue that it makes no sense.  The only relevant thing I could think of that the room was the "heart" of the cave, but it still doesn't make sense to me.

Next on my list is a bit earlier in the game during the events in Disney Castle.  I better just get the scene.

At 1:16, Donald asks Daisy if she can take care of...well, something.  What that is never seems to be revealed, and I have been extremely curious as to what they might both be referring to.  Nomura, wai yew gotta be so mysteriez?!

There's one last thing I'm curious about at the moment, and I never gave the subject an ounce of thought until today.  As you may all recall, Alice goes missing in Wonderland.  If you complete Wonderland before Deep Jungle, you'll see that Maleficent and her gang have captured her (Completing Deep Jungle first replaces her with Snow White, which could be an interesting thing to note).  If you are anything like me, you wouldn't have given it much more thought than that (I'm not saying you haven't ;P).  But recently I just wondered about exactly what were the circumstances of Alice being captured by them.  Obviously it was while she was in the cage, but then I thought of something.  We are already familiar with a certain individual who has a tendency to take individuals into custody for the sake of their hearts:  Riku.  As revealed by the events in KH Final Mix, we know that Riku ended up at Hollow Bastion, and Maleficent looking on from the distance as he shouted out for his friends.  Obviously she recruited him during Sora's travels, and she already had him take Jasmine later in the game (Though he seems to not know much about their cause at the time, stating "Hey, I got your princess" rather apathetically, seeming to only care about what he will get out of it).

Might it be possible that Riku is the one who captured Alice, or was this the act of someone else in the group?

Feel free to share your thoughts on this and maybe even post anything you've been wondering about! :D

Does riku take Alice?

no way to know

When Donald asks Daisy to "take care of the..." and she cuts him off, what are they talking about?

Poor translation. In the Japanese version, Donald says something along the lines of 'Daisy, the king...' His complete sentence would be Daisy, the king we will find. (This obviously means Daisy, we will find the king) She cuts him off and says 'It'll be fine. Make sure to take care of yourself as well.

How does jane suddenly realize "Eee ooh ooh ahh" means Heart?

Because of seeing the keyhole I guess? idk the connection honestly.

No real way of knowing but I'd say yeah.

Due to convience of story, I'd say they were problably talking about the Hall of the Cornerstone from KH2. It seems to fit and makes sense even if it may not of been thought of at the time of the first game.

I think its a connection to the "friends" thing ("no friends, no heart") aswell as the keyhole being in or the "heart" of the jungle.

She says that before Tarzan even brings that up.  I understand the point they were trying to make in the game, but Jane's realization of it just comes out of nowhere.  I guess the Keyhole thing makes a little sense; however, there's no real direct connection as to why she thinks of it.

Don't overthink it. Trust me, it will get on your nerves. If anything else, it may just be nothing more than what it is: A random connection/realization.

Haha, you're probably right.  But I reallly like over thinking things ;P

I think there's no way to know if  it was Riku who took Alice, but if I'd have to quess, I'd say it wasn't. Because why wouldn't he then had gone to say anything to Sora? It still was before they met in Traverse Town. Of course it might have been that he wouldn't want to ruin the capturing of Alice so that he could help Kairi but I'd still quess it wasn't him.

I'd say it's more than likely than it wasn't him, i just felt like speculating :P
