do you sometimes wish sora's guard was a little longer, like the length of roxas' level one guard, that would be nice, then if you were just a couple seconds off, you'd have a chance of blocking it

If you want a stronger guard then choose the shield when picking a weapon in the beginning of the game otherwise dont complain because you chose your path.

the whole point in picking the staff shield or sword

is to choose your strength

oh, i didn't know that, does that apply for kh 1 & 2?

Only KH 1,Sword raises attack,shield raises defence,Staff raises magic, KH 2 just has a damn long tutorial and no reward.

so, choosing the shield will allow you to hold the guard longer, but only in kh 1, well, that will be helpful in proud mode

 

Ok, well I just found out isn't true, the guard doesn't change at all when you pick the shield first, unless you have to keep the staff and get rid of the sword? If so then I must have gotten ridden of it, but if not then I don't know.
