As the title says, I'm in need of help. Not help as in 'I can't figure out my math homework!' but help as in advice. Emotional advice, because lately, I have been repeatedly down and depressed, often lasting for days in a row. I hate it, but I can't help but get upset over nearly anything-- from people doing something they don't realize hurts me, to me just being an idiot on my own.

I would like some advice on how to get out of this cycle of depression, as it's certainly annoying to anyone who has to put up with it. Heck, I'm sure someone is annoyed by this very thread itself.

So...does anyone have any advice, at all? For what I should do to make myself more resilient to my own problems, and not having to get down all the time? If I need to explain more, I surely will.

And please, don't tell me I need to see a doctor. I'm fully aware that I should visit a real professional--I just know talking about one's feelings usually relieves one of stress.

The thing with any cycle is that you need to know how to break it. You need to think what's really bugging you because there has to be something. Just make yourself really comfortable and think, reflect ton the last few days and try to find the cause of your depression. What I do, is I talk to my mom, or my best friend and tell them how I feel. They usually comfort me or help me make sense of it all. Otherwise, I do something that brings me joy. I watch my favorite TV show, read a really good book or cook and or eat something. Just anything that would break the monotony and get me thinking and feeling better. I hope this helps you!  :)

Ok. Intervention time.

It's good to see that you're seeking others to talk about the situation. Trust me, bottling up your emotions hoping it would go away will come back to bite you. Hard. Been there, done that and I'm still living with the trauma (Doesn't really help knowing that I have a gun sitting right next to me with a single bullet sitting nearby either). Although your post seems vague in detailing the cause of your recent bout of depression, all I can say for this

Are they aware that they're hurting you on an emotional level, or is it circumstantial due to a personal event? And no, don't blame yourself.

believe me i suffer from almost the same thing. i was actually crying a minit ago. no joke. i'm sorry but i have no advise for you but i hope hearing this from someone who has nearly the same problem will help you.

I'm no professional but my inarguable logic suggests channeling the negativity elsewhere elsehow or just denying with pure willpower.

Listen, we all have problems. Some are severe, others we make worse for ourselves. You're alive, that's reason enough to be happy. If the problem persists, don't keep it to yourself, tell someone, get help.

best thing find out whats causing it and avoid it and if you dont know think about what you do in the days when yuor sad do you do anythign fun .. down and depressed normal is from some tragic event in yuor life or feeling like yuor worthless. Best thing is to have a laugh and avoid feeling crappy .... do crap you enjoy and you shouild not be sad because your keeping your mind from wandering into sadsvile

Thanks, guys..I assure you all that I'm feeling better, but I wanted to at least say that I wasn't in the best of moods, and wanted an idea of how to relieve myself of depression. Thanks.

Np :D
