Detectives Investigating Stabbing on Cobblestone Drive
Detectives from the 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a stabbing that occurred on Cobblestone Drive earlier this week.

On May 20, at approximately 6:40 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the 14900 block of Cobblestone Drive for a report of a stabbing that had just occurred. Investigation revealed that the 17-year-old male victim had been playing basketball in Stonegate Park when he was approached by two male subjects who tried to engage him in a conversation. The victim became uncomfortable in the presence of the two males and began to leave the park. The two subjects followed him on to Cobblestone Drive where he was confronted by another male walking toward him. During the confrontation, the third male (suspect) stabbed the victim three times with a folding knife. The suspect and the additional two subjects then fled back into the park.

After returning to the park, the three males took custody of an approximately 5- to 6-year old female that had accompanied the two original male subjects to the park. Based on witness accounts, all parties then fled in an unknown vehicle.

Suspect Still at Large

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 18 years of age, approximately 5’10″ tall, and weighing approximately 225 pounds. He had black hair styled in an Afro. The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts with white stripes down the sides.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the identity of the suspect involved in this incident to contact the 4th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5530. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or leave a Crime Solvers tip here. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
