I never played the game, but I know it well... I guess. I've just finished seeing the wholw cutscenes from the games, atleast the ones that were dubbed...

The story is a bit confusing, I must admit... I just don't get why Zack had to die? He faced a whoel bunch of those guys in the end... but he died with only 3? But why was he attacked?

And he never got the chance to read the lettes from Aerith or see her again... :(

he was recorded killed in action by hojo and turned into a test subject, he then escaped and hojo was worried if anyone found out he was alive shinra would get sued

so he ordered he be caught and killed.

He died because he knew what ShinRa was doing with their experiments. ShinRa didn't want this and wanted him killed, which they unfortunately succeeded in doing.

He died because he's dead in FFVII and Crisis Core is a prequel.  Besides, wouldn't you be exhausted after fighting an entire friggin' army?  The last three of them managed to kill him because he's too tired to fight back anymore.  They were hunting him down to begin with because he was labeled a dangerous test subject and was marked for death after he escaped.

Because he got in the mix with the wrong people.

He should have chose the life of the guy that gave him a ride in the truck.

He got in way too deep, man.

Way too deep.
