I heard Snake's new voice in the the new MGS: Phantom Pain Trailer and I have to say i already hate it. I mean seriously why did Kojima even feel the need to replace David Hayter with a completely new VA? Oh, I'll tell you why. it's because Kojima felt that there needed to be a VA who is around the age of 49 and can sound like a man in that age. Well, if you're going by that Mr. Kojima then why are you keeping Snake's Japanese VA but replacing an English VA who is around that said age??? That doesn't really make sense to me at all. David Hater is around that age and can still voice Solid Snake/Big Boss quite well. And if they're not going to have him  voice Big Boss than they can at least maybe have him VA a young Solid Snake. Because if they do that then it would kinda make more sense as to why he didn't voice Big Boss.

It just sounds so average and unoriginal, I don't see why Kojima decided to change his VA. Especially since Hayter is so iconic to the series 

A little sad that they didn't use David Hayter but I have no problem with Kiefer's work it's alright. He barely talks in the new trailer anyhow, you can't exactly judge on such little content. Personally I dislike it, although I will still enjoy the game.

It is not that bad though and it is nothing that would ruin the game

 

Also Mr. Kojima said himself that he wanted to make some real difference between Naked and Solid Snake and changing voice actor was solid option for it

It's getting to that point where they have to start being differentiated since in the 80's they are both now alive. I for one, think big boss should have always been a different actor.

The more I listen to it, the better it sounds. It's not that bad, just no where near as iconic. It's like a mix of David Hayter and Richard Doyle or something
