The war is finally reaching towards it climax. The Defenders and the Dynasty have developed new technology that will allow them to search for the Dragon Balls more efficiently then ever, both in similar manners, as well. On the Defenders side, Bulma Breifs has created a new, more advanced version of the Dragon Ball Radar, which can track a Dragon Ball from any point in the world at one time. Meanwhile, the evil scientists of the Dynasty have used the technology of the Scouter and built upon it, now able to track the density of the orbs within the entire scope of the globe.

And now that the tech is with each faction, it is now time to put together the Dragon Ball Hunter teams that will use this tech to find the Dragon Balls and end the war, either justice prevailing or failing in the process.

CAPSULE CORP BASE 9853

(Caba)

 

Both excitement and tension was in the air as all the young members of the Defenders were all gathered in the giant Meeting Hall, eagerly waited for their next course of action. They were all told by Namek Division Leader Piccolo to meet in this specific base because of how close it was to the Six Star Ball, the first Dragon Ball that they would hope to capture on their first mission as a Dragon Ball Hunter. Other than that, the young fighters have spent the time since then talking amongst one another to kill time, the noise of several different dialects and tones filling the air, as Saiyans, Humans, Namekians, and other races all spoke with one another.

 

One particular Saiyan wasn't talking to anybody, however. Caba was calmly leaning against the back wall of the hall, arms crossed and eyes closed. The young Saiyan wasn't much of a people person, mostly because he only interacted with those who he trained with, and those people were only that of the higher ups. Still, he could use someone to talk to. But even with that, his excitement to begin the meeting was too great. He smirked to himself. After all my training, I'm finally going on onto the field. Time to show why I'm the best Saiyan soldier in this entire alliance, he thought, his cobalt eyes opening, revealing the spark of determination that Caba always carried.

 

(Goku/Vegeta)

 

"Man, you even hear these guys through the walls," Goku commented to Vegeta, as the two Saiyans made their way from the Division Leader Sector of the base to the Meeting Hall. "They sure sound excited, huh, Vegeta?"

 

"Their enthusiasm is one thing. Whether or not they're actually cut out for the job is the only thing I'm concerned with," Vegeta gruffed, arms crossed and frowning as always.

 

"Aw, Vegeta. Even now, you're still the same hardass as you've always been. Heheheh," Goku said with a teasing smile.

 

"Enough, Kakarot! This is no time for games. May I remind you we are in a war!" Vegeta replied most aggressively.

 

Goku was going to counter, but he didn't. He understood why Vegeta was being so harsh. After all, he and the Prince Of Saiyans were the fighters that had the most pressure on them in this, deciding whether or not the young ones had enough skill to potentially go out and get killed by the Dynasty.."Yeah, yeah, I know," Goku, now in tune with Vegeta's seriousness, said. "These kids are gonna have to give it their all. They're our last hope. And we can't afford to make mistakes right now. Especially myself... I'm the leader, after all."

 

Vegeta simply grunted in agreement, and after that, no more words were needed to be said between the two pure bloods as they were about to enter the Meeting Hall...

(Yukio)

 

One young saiyan had just entered the bustling base, surprised by the sheer number of people from many different races in here, conversing on battle tactics and what to do next. "Wow..." The young saiyan murmured as he walked past the people. He tried to look for any familiar faces, but so far he had seen none. He eventually arrived at the hall of the base, and spotted a man leaning on the wall.

 

"Hi there! I'm Yukio, nice to meet you!" He held out his hand, hoping for the man to acknowledge him and shake it in return.

Caba turned his head to the side and noticed the young boy before him, extending his hand. Well, that was easy, Caba thought, remembering his desire to talk with the other fighers.

 

Caba got off the wall and grabbed the young Saiyan's hand, shaking it firmly. "Pleasure's all mine. I'm Caba, Kakarot's and Vegeta's personal student," Caba said, thinking he could show off in that moment.

"Oh, so you're Caba? It's an honor to meet you sir." Yukio said, relinquishing his hand. "You must be pretty powerful to have trained with my father and his rival. He talks about you very highly, he's very proud of you from what i've heard. How long have you been training with them? And, have they ever taken you to the Hyberbolic time chamber?"

"You're Kakarot's kid?" Caba said in surprise. He kinda looks like Gohan, actually. "Hmm... well, anyways, thanks for the praise. And to answer your questions: All my life. I was created with DNA from Kakarot and Vegeta, and them and their allies trained me to the be the fighter I am today. And yeah, I've been to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. I spent five years in that place; the most anyone's ever spent."

"Wow!" Exclaimed Yukio. "You spent 5 years in there! That's incredible. I thought you could only spend 2 years in there before the door dissapears? I spent one year in there, but that was all i needed to become a Super Saiyan anyway. That was some of the hardest training of my life, but it was worth it. Now, i feel ready to definitely join the battle. All this killing and violence has to stop, i'm going to make sure that it does. Especially for my family, and Ed...." Yukio's voice trailed off.

"I personally had Dende and Mr. Popo rework the Chamber so I can stay longer. After all, rules and limits are made to be broken. And with all that extra training, I sure broke through a lot of my limits. I can become a Super Saiyan, as well as Super Saiyan 2, now." Caba smiled, though paused after after hearing Yukio's declaration. "Hmm..." Caba put his hand on the kid's head. "Don't worry, squirt. We'll win this war. Though, it'll be tough to be stronger than someone like me. Fair warning," Caba boasted.

Alexander was running a little late, as per usual for him on a day where there was to be a meeting. It was never his intention, he always let his training take over for him. Hours seemed like seconds at times to him during his training. Physically, he was already strong enough, but his spiritual training had only recently began. "That energy blade technique you use... It's powerful, but it drains so much of your energy so fast because you're spiritually weak. It could be a turning point in a decisive fight in the war... Now, I have to go fight, train well Alexander I hope to be able to spar with you again some time!" his long gone rival once said to him. He had finally arrived, entering the building, he sat up against a wall as he waited.

Over the murmur of people discussing strategy and other matters, Alex overheard someone with a very familiar voice, one he know for a long time. He walked over to the source, sure enough it was Yukio. "Yukio!" He called out to his practical little bro. "It's been a few months, how have you been?" He asked, finally reaching him.

Before Caba could respond, Yukio heard Alexander call his name.

 

"ALEX!!!!" Yukio manly hugged him. "Oh man, Its been pretty long, now hasn't it? I've been doing good, i learned how to become a Super Saiyan 2! But, i don't know if that power was worth the cost that allowed me to reach that form....." Yukio's voice trailed off again. But, he shrugged it off for the moment. "Well, anyway. Things have been great, what have you been doing lately?"

"So, your name's Alex?" Caba cut in, a little mad that his conversation was cut off by a newcomer. He was glad that he had more people to talk to, though. And more word to go around about my skills, he thought. Caba then grinned and greeted the newcomer: "Hi. My name's Caba, I'm the student of Kakarot and Vegeta. I'm guessing you know this little tyke here," Caba said, crossing his arms.

Before Caba could respond, Yukio heard Alexander call his name.

 

"ALEX!!!!" Yukio manly hugged him. "Oh man, Its been pretty long, now hasn't it? I've been doing good, i learned how to become a Super Saiyan 2! But, i don't know if that power was worth the cost that allowed me to reach that form....." Yukio's voice trailed off again. But, he shrugged it off for the moment. "Well, anyway. Things have been great, what have you been doing lately?"

Alex was taken a little aback to Yukio's hug. He was so much stronger than he had remembered. He then started to talk. "Yeah, it has. Really? Nice... I've got a few card tricks up my sleeve as well now. And I heard about that... I'm sorry..." He trailed off as well until the next sentence Yukio said. "Uh, fighting on the front lines, training intensely, lots of depressing things, the general everyday things of a frontline warrior." he said. "You've grown. A lot. Have you been eating all the veggies that Chi-Chi prepares?" Alex laughed a little, both of us knowing that Chi-Chi's cooking never went unfinished. "But seriously, you've gotten a lot bigger since last we saw each other. I woulda been home for a visit if I hadn't been sidetracked by a lot of fighting and Dynasty getting up to their nasty ways." He said. "We oughta spar for a little after the meeting, if we have time..." He said, then Caba cut in.

"Seems almost out of character for him, but considering how many people try to control and destroy Earth, I can see why."

"Yeah, poor Ed. I wish i was there, i could've helped him." His head hung down for a bit. "But, back on the subject. I guess i have grown alot now haven't I? And, don't worry, understand why you haven't been home lately. This war is starting to get out of hand from what i can see. I'm glad now i can put an end to it." Yukio replied. Then Caba cut in.

 

After Alex replied, Yukio said, "Agreed. There's been too many people trying to destroy Earth from time to time. It seems like everytime we finally think we've earned peace, some other vengeful person gets right back in our way, and they either want to either kill all of us Saiyans, or just kill dad, or just want to plain take over the world." He laughed a bit. "It's pretty crazy when you think about it."

So, they're students of Kakarot too. And they look upon him as a father. "That's right. I am his student. I'm one of the prospects of the Saiyan Reconstruction program. I was created from DNA of both Kakarot and Vegeta, as well as trained by them and some of the other Division Leaders, such as Piccolo, Krillin, and Buu. In a way, I've come to know them as family, as well, just like how you call Kakarot your father." That wasn't something Caba ever said out loud before. Even around his own "surrogate family", it was hard for him to open up like the way he was doing now. These two... I think maybe I've found some friends.

"Wow, that's incredible. I didn't know that people could be created in other ways besides....other Natural ways", Yukio said, trying to avoid that subject he accidentally brought up. "I'm surprised that Al and I haven't met you until now." Yukio finally decided that maybe it was time to get onto business. "Anyway, Caba, do you know when the meeting starts? It's been awhile, and i want to know what we have to do next."

Caba's mouth twitched upright at Yukio's innuendo, as he struggled not to laugh. He helped to do this by going straight to the other point he brought up: "Growing up, I interacted exclusively with Kakarot and the others. I don't know anybody else. You two are the first that I've even talked to ever since I finished my initial training."

 

The black clad Saiyan's eyes then wandered over to the big clock that hung on one of the Meeting Hall's walls. "I don't know actually. All he said was to meet here and wait. I wasn't told anything else. And considering I'm his best student, it's probably gonna be something big. I've been hearing rumors about the Dragon Balls recently... 

"Well, that's dad for you. Always hiding his plans, never know what he's going to do next." Yukio said nonchalantly. "Wait, you've been hearing rumors about the Dragon Balls? It's been so long since we've used them. And no one's had technology to find them for ages. Unless...." Yukio's eyes widened in shock. "Maybe the Dynasty has created some new device to find them?!?! That would be a huge disaster if they can locate them. Imagine what they'd wish for. It would become like the battle of Planet Namek all over again! Except now, the people of Earth could be entirely wiped out in the process instead." Yukio's grim words echoed.

(Caba)

 

"I know. I've heard about that, as well. I have also heard about our faction developing some new technology as well... " Caba's voice trailed off as he and the other fighters in the room looked to the front, where Kakarot and Vegeta had arrived finally.

 

(Goku/Vegeta)

 

"Welcome, everybody! I'm glad all of you could show up!" The Defender's Saiyan Divison Leader chimed. "Today is a big day for all of you."

 

"Every one of you is going to be selected into a special division. This division is in charge of a new development that has come up in the war," The Defender's Saiyan Division Co-Leader added. "Some of you may have heard that the Dragon Balls have resurfaced. This is very true, and the Defenders are prepared to take the opportunity in front of us."

 

Hearing Vegeta speak so leader like reminded Goku of the fight with Kid Buu, as he concluded: "So, we're going to take you guys and put you into teams called Dragon Ball Hunters. There are seven balls, so we're going to make seven teams," Goku clarified, holding up seven fingers. "The first team is going after the Six Star Ball, which is close to this very base."

 

"And the rest of the teams will be spread to the other bases that are close to the locations of the other Dragon Balls," Vegeta finished.

 

The entire room was abuzz as the young fighters grew excited with this new task in front of them...

So this is the tasK? Dragon Ball Hunters? Caba thought back to the stories that Kakarot told him, about how he and his friends searched the Earth for the legendary orange orbs, encountering many enemies on the way. Perfect. I'm finally going to fight someone that'll push me to my current limit.. and... I'll be able to help end this war, too. Then everybody will be safe. I can tell this is going to be interesting. He smiled, hungry for a challenge.

 

(Goku/Vegeta)

 

"We've already pre-selected who's going to be on the Hunters team for this area," Goku then announced.

 

"Indeed," Vegeta commented.

 

Both pure blood Saiyans looked around the room, looking for their team... both Saiyans were then a little surprised to see the ones they chosen in attendance they way they were.

 

"Ain't that a coincidence? They're all there, all together in front of us," Goku whispered to Vegeta. "I wonder if they already made friends with each other already..."

 

"Kakarot, I still don't understand why you grouped them together," Vegeta replied. "What good will it do?"

 

"Whattaya mean what good will it do? I trained them all myself. Well, one of them you helped train too... anyways, I'm sure with that, they'll all get along smoother."

 

"You do remember that one of those boys has a problem. He's not like those other two; he could compromise the task at hand. I hate to admit this, but I'm speaking from experience."

 

"I believe you, Vegeta. And that's why this is a good idea. I'm trying to make him break that habit like you did all those years ago."

 

"Hmm... well, in any case, the decision is made. Let's hope that his plan of yours will work... leader," Vegeta's last word was sarcastic and somewhat disrespectful. Goku sensed Vegeta's feelings.

 

"I promise you," he reassured. "Now, then, let's get this done!" Goku announced, turning his attention back to the front. "The Dragon Ball Hunters that will search for the Six Star Ball are..."

 

Goku pointed a finger at a group of boys that were standing in the back of the room. "Caba, Yukio, and Alexander!"

Yukio stood up, beaming and excited. Alright! This'll be great. Now we can finally help put an end to this war. "Ok guys, come on." Yukio waved his hand towards the direction of where Goku and Vegeta stood, and started walking towards them.

Haru stood in the back of the room, smirking due to the amount of people here. So many people who I can prove my strength to... Heh, this'll be perfect! He gloated in his mind. He watched as the first team was selected, a group of three Saiyans. "Heh, looks like the spoiled guys all get to work together... Of course they would." He quietly remarked, in a sarcastic tone.

"So, we get the easy one, eh?" Alex though, giving a nod to Goku, he knew what was to be done. "Thank you, Goku." He followed Yukio onto the stage area. "But... What lies ahead is major trouble for us... Will we be able to handle it?" Alex's thoughts were interrupted by a voice. He had an... Odd knack for hearing when people talk about him, even in crowds like this.(Oddly, I do share this trait with Alexander IRL) Hearing someone say "Heh, looks like the spoiled guys all get to work together... Of course they would." He wouldn't know who said it, but someone said it alright. He decided to ignore it. No point in trying to find out anyway.

(Goku/Vegeta/Caba)

 

Goku beamed as all three Saiyans stood before him and Vegeta. "Alright then, you guys need to hang on to this," Goku handed the black clad Saiyan a small object. "This is a new Dragon Radar that Bulma created; it can track the Dragon Balls from anywhere in the whole world," Goku briefly explained.

 

Caba pressed the small button on the side of the Radar, revealing an orange circle to blip onto the green screen, while a small panel on the bottom read '515 miles Southeast," the current location of the Six Star Ball. Wow. That's amazing, the impressed Saiyan thought.

 

"Now then, you know your objective. Go to the Main Lobby to meet with your team leader and then leave to find the Dragon Ball as soon as possible," Vegeta gruffed.

 

"What? Team leader? We need a team leader?" Caba asked.

 

"Yes. Each team is going to be assigned a veteran to keep watch over you rookies."

 

"Oh..." Caba sighed, thinking he might have been the leader of the team.

 

Goku chuckled, seeing his show off of a student get so glum. He put a hand on his shoulder. "If if makes you feel better, Caba, you're going to be the co-leader, because of your experience."

 

Caba brightened, a bit stunned that his teachers were showing such high regards. But, he stayed cool, and simply nodded. "Thank you Master Kakarot."

 

Goku scratched the back of his head. "Geez, why don't you ever call me Goku? You're just as stubborn as Vegeta," Goku chuckled, receiving a glare and growl from Vegeta.

 

Caba tittered, but then bowed to both of his teachers, recieving a bow from Goku back, and a smaller one from Vegeta.

 

"Come on, guys, I know the way to the Main Lobby," Caba then said, leading his new team out of the room.
