It's that time I will be buying a new PC in a long time, but I'm having difficulty determining what PC is best for my needs. No I will not build mines as I fear something will go wrong. (Coming from someone who is into tech stuff lol)

I'm looking for a computer that can meet my needs:

- Sometimes I video edit on Sony Vegas, as well render of course.

- I play very few MMOs, but I do tend to play for hours on one I stick on. The following link can help what I want the computer to handle with minimal to no lag: http://www.mmofan.com/digimon-masters-online/ and http://www.aeriagames.com/wiki/index.php?title=System_Requirements&game=scarletblade

- I like to multi-task.

I'm in a budget, so I'm looking around at anything below 600$. Maybe I'll go 700$. I might most likely buy it off Best buy, as I can order it and pick up in-store.

This computer should suffice. A lot of hard drive space (Good for big videos) plus an Intel i7, which is very good for video rendering. Graphics are decent, and should be able to run those two MMOs. The RAM is sufficient enough as well, but should be upgraded if you want to multi-task more.

Silver's suggestion is good. http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ also has some really powerful computers are (relatively) low prices. You can customize each model 100% to your liking. I would suggest getting a computer with at least 6 gb of RAM if it's in your budget. 4 GB of ram won't be sufficient for even the less hardware intensive games in a year or two.

Customer support for cyberpower is absolutely fantastic. They are more than willing to help you find a good computer.

Just avoid Alienware completely. You wind up paying almost twice as much for half the power and more frequent breakdowns and bad customer support.

There are some sites that if you pick the parts, they'll build the rig and ship it completed. I honestly can't think of any off the top of my head, but they are out there.

Using Amon's suggestion, I found a PC that would fit your requirements. There is no graphics card, but it will let you render and game as you want. If you would like to know, you can get a nVidia GTX 550 ti for $130 to throw in there if you're able to save up for it. it'll let you play most games out today if you're willing to sacrifice a little bit of graphical clerity and use the medium setting on those games. I have one and like, I can play Skyrim with a hi-rez texture pack on the highest setting, but I can only play Far Cry 3 on low. so it varies from game to game mostly.

Here's the link to the PC:http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/LAN_III_Mini-I

And the link to the 550 ti: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130744

Just the desktop rig?

Intel Core i5 4430 3.1GHz
Asrock H87M
Kingston 1333MHz 8GB
Sapphire HD7850 2GB
FSP Hexa 500W PSU
WD Blue 500GB HDD
CM K280 Case
Liteon 24x DVDRW

Should be around $700 if you're building on your own. If you can add extra budget, go increase your HDD to 1TB or add another 8GB RAM. RAMs are cheap nowadays.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Would installing that graphics card be easy? If anything, what video cards (from the first link you put) are similar to 550 ti?

Also I'm going with 8 GB ram since some suggested 6GB or over. Does it matter which type of 8GB RAM I choose? It gives me several options.

Should be able to find a good cheap one here :)

Good and cheap are not words I would use to describe an alienware.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Installing the graphics card should be simple. You kinda just put it in the motherboard. If you need more detailed instructions Cyberpower customer support or googling a tutorial can help.

I don't know much about the 550ti so I can't help you find something similar.

It doesn't really matter which 8GB RAM you pick. The more expensive options only make your computer slightly faster. Put it this way, the difference in performance doesn't really justify the difference in cost.

Alright, thanks. Maybe I'll put the graphics card on hold until I really need it.

Last question guys. I have to by speakers for the desktop, right? I assume they don't have any internal speakers, so it's either speakers from built-in monitors or external ones. I have no issue getting them, since they are cheap. Also I won't need a graphics card to run the MMOs I mentioned, right? Like I said before, if I ever get more demanding games, I can buy a graphics card, but I won't if the integrated card can already handle those MMOs.

Sorry for yet another question, but is the power supply any good? I've heard past reviews how some have had bad power supply and had to get it replaced. I don't want to deal with this when I'm using it.

Yeah, installing the card pretty much entails plugging in the card to the biggest port on the motherboard. then all you have to do is download the latest drivers for the card off the nVidia website, and that's simple as well.

As for RAM, I've had pretty good success with Corsair Vengeance sticks: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233184

When it come's to on-board graphics, I'm not too familiar with Intel's. I run AMD, but want to go to Intel lol. So I'm no help when it comes to that.

And the power supply issue, if it gives you enough worry, further down on the page for the computer (if that is what you are going with) you can upgrade the power supply for pretty cheap. I would recommend the Corsair 600CXV2. With that, you're much better off than with the standard one they put in. It's 80 Plus Bronze, so it's good at staying efficient, and Corsair makes really good PSUs.

Good luck with your choice.
