Super Powers!

Recommended Posts

So I'm sure my fellow Kingdom peeps have noticed this one before. apparently the process of becoming a human looking Nobody seems to constitute gaining super powers, much in the same way Keyblades, pure light and the power of Darkness all give their users super powers of some sort. The abilities Nobodies and humans have seem to correlate with their dispossitions. Even have colours attributed to them.

I don't wanna delve into too much detail but lets go with Sora or Riku, by CoM they have an impressive skillset and powers worthy of them. Sora can pull off tremendous physical feats from old but gold Sonic Blade or even one of many Strike Raid attacks. His magical powers are on Steroids or something like Firaga Burst, Tornado or Deep Freeze! As for Riku , Soul Eater, Dark Mode and Dark Aura! In gameplay Riku is overpowered to say the least.

As for Organisation, they're like Kingdom Hearts dubious twist on the Xmen! Xemnas is the psychokenetic, Xigbar's the Teleporter so on!

Well, if the keyblade wielders and organisation members didnt have powers of some kind that are of a higher caliber they would be over powered by those floods of weak shadows and dusks.

I think it goes without saying if you are outnumbered you need super powers to even the odds.

I don't think becoming necessary grants you powers although I would imagine it stregthens innate abillities I think each individual is naturally gifted with certain powers depending on their heart. Example Braig displayed many of the same powers as Xigbar albeit weaker variation of them. I think the extent of power they display during KHII could be explained as them having time to develop, strengthen, and evolve those natural abilities. Remember most of the Org had ten plus years of extensive combat experience to develop their prowess.

It's ambiguous as to where everyone's powers come from.  My personal headcanon that sweeps across many other works is that, unless explicitly stated otherwise, most everyone has the potential to learn them (like magic or Ragnarok of whatever), and it's just a matter of honing those abilities.  Some are more varied than others, though.  Both Sora and Donald use magic, but Sora is also a swordsman whereas Donald is a pure magician.  There's nothing to suggest Donald can't learn, say, Ars Arcanum, except Donald has no interest in swordplay and a bad-tempered duck throwing that attack at you would be beyond terrifying.

I never thought becoming a Nobody granted you any particular powers aside from an ability to form corridors of darkness.  The keyblade has specific powers that make it unique, but I don't think it itself grants superpowers.  Donald is a magic wielder and he doesn't have a keyblade, and Riku had powers before he got his keyblade.  Even then, Sora had to get tutored by Merlin to before he could use magic, and I assume things like his Ars Arcanum are things he just learned over time because he was already a skilled swordsman before he got his keyblade.

Or I could be wrong and that the keyblade really does make you a superhero.  I dunno.
