Simon XVII however seemed to have had a hard time remembering that he was raising a girl considering he ended up raising her as a tomboy, but either way he is his little princess, and he will hurt anyone that hurts his little daughter, psyically or emotionally. Or atleast that's what they tell everyone they meet outside the household as her dad's way of training her would be considered beyond inhumane for a child. Yuri was raised as the tomboy princess of the Simon household, deeply cared by the mafia family members, giving her a heart-of-a-child even though she is 17. The last thing she remembers was falling asleep on her sofa in her house, next thing she knows, she wakes up in an isolated island chained up by the ankles to Vongola XVIII...

Yuri looked up and stared at Agito-now-turned-Akito as he offered his hand towards her. Yuri backed away, getting her gauntlets ready to attack. "The hell just happened?! You like, totally changed! Are you a lunatic or just nuts?!"Yuri asked. Apparently Akito was Agito's older brother...but the same body? This was a strange one. "Uh...I'm Yuri..."Yuri didn't know what to say. She wanted to trust that smile,it was genuine, but just a few seconds ago this dude,or atleast the younger brother, was fighting against them a few moments ago. She looked down at Haru and then back up at Akrito, then following up the chain that led to a bush where his mysterious partner sat silent, not speaking or showing face. She looked up at Akito. "So,um,Akito is Agito your alter ego or something? Besides being your brother..."Yuri asked as she looked at him and then down at Haru. "He kind of beat him into submission." She lookec up at Akito, her eyes gleaming at the now orange sky as the sun started to set. "So you two would be children of Milfore, then, who's your partner?"She asked. One second he was one thing, the next another thing, well, person. Was there an alter ego or something with this child of Milfore?! Yuri quickly shook her head, holding her head. "Now my brain hurts."She murmured.

Edited by Stardustblade358

Akito tilted his head at Yuri before sighing. "It's kind of complicated... and I think it would be better if Haru-Kun could explain. Of course, Agito went a little overboard as usual." Akito flailed his arms around like a kid, causing his extra long sleeves to flap around playfully. "I guess you could say that Agito and I are just split personalities, but we're more like brothers. I'll leave it to Haru to let you know about Agito." Akito sat down and tinkered with his rollerblades. "As for my partner..." Akito looked over and started to crawl over to the bush. "Hey, can I tell her?" All that could be heard was a whisper that was barely louder than a breath. Akito turned back to Yuri with a sigh. "Looks like he doesn't want you guys to know who he is yet." Akito got back to his feet and stretched. Akito/Agito was near enough the same height as Yuri, so knowing that Agito had beaten Haru who was several inches taller than him, showed that he meant business whenever it came to fighting. "Alright, I think it's time for us to go. We'll meet you in battle city, that's where all the fighting is happening. Well, see you later." Akito said smiling, making sure to give Yuri a hug before skating off, leaving Yuri with incapacitated Haru.

Yuri watched as Akito took off with his currenlty-unidentified-partner. "Battle City."She repeated a bit as she looked down at Haru. She anime sweatdropped. "Oh well. Atleast I can get peace and quiet for a few hours."Yuri joked to herself when she looked up at the sky. Shades of orange, pink and purple covered the sky as the sun stared to set down. There were lots of clouds,so it seemed like it was going to rain soon if not later in the night. "It'll get dark soon. better get moving."Yuri said as she stood up. She then turned her attention to Haru. She sighed a bit and took a deep breath. "Alright then."She muttered as she got her hands together, her ring shinning slightly. If there was one thing good of the Simon ring for casual use: it was its gravity manipulating abilities. She wasn't psysically fit,so atleast it wouldn't kill her to carry Haru. She pulled Haru's arms and slumped them over her shoulders, picking up his legs and pulling him up. He was heavier than he looked! Her knees shaking and Haru's head slightly resting against the back of her head, she muttered a few things under her breath before she started to move. Battle city. Where all the battles were happening according to Akito. They would have to head there in the morning after filling Haru in with what he missed. Other that, tonight they would have to rest. After a while of walking Yuri found a rather big tree. This should be enough protection from the rain. Not fully, but good enough if anything. She settled Haru against the trunk and she quickly started to gather random sticks from the ground, getting it into a bundle. "If we don't get a fire going we'll freeze to death."Yuri muttered to herself as she ended up eventually climbing to the nearest branch and breaking down a few more sticks to add to the pile. She searched through the pockets of her hoodie and took out the matches. She tried to light one on,it broke. "Oh come on."She cursed as she picked another one and lighted it up. She threw it in the pile of stucks and started to slightly blow the bottom of it so it could grow even if just a little bit more. "(Papa, why didn't you told me you were going to send me to these trials...?)"She wondered. Her father wouldn't usually be that kind of person who would surprise her...so it was odd.

Haru began to groan and come to his sences after feeling his body being moved. A little after being dumped in front of the tree, Haru began to awaken. "Mmm... Yuri?" Haru looked around until seeing her next to the fire. "Hey, what happened?! Where's Agito?" Yuri sighed and explained to him everything that happened after he was knocked out. "So, you met Akito." Haru was sat on the other side of the fire. "I guess I should explain a little, considering we're probably going to run into him again." Haru took a deep breath before breathing out. "Okay... I wasn't always a part of the Vongola family." Yuri tilted her head in confusion. "Actually, I've only been a part of the Vongola for 4 years. Before that, I was a member of the Milfiore family. When I was little, I was good friends with Akito, who would soon inherit the Milfiore Famiglia, and he allowed to stay with him and get stronger. But when I turned 13, and I found out I was Vongola XVIII, Agito hated me for betraying and leaving the Milfiore." Haru looked down. "Not like I had much choice, especially with a teacher like Reborn. Anyway, Agito wasn't always around either, he was created some time before I left, but I'll leave that story for another time." Haru then looked across at Yuri. "So, I told you something about me, why don't you tell me something from your past?"

  • Author

Yuri looked over at Haru, actually quite surprised at that. When he asked her for her to speak a bit about herself and her past, she tried to think of something, her hands insntinctly going to her wrists which were covered by her long-sleeved hoodie. "Hm...."She hummed a she tried to think of something. "Well. I never met my mother,or atleast don't remember her. She died in a car accident when I was a few months old. I live in the Simon Headquarters with papa and his comrades. We're a small family, but we're growing each day."Yuri says smiling at that fact,as the Simon was indeed growing in numbers, rather big. "I have pet dog named Kobu,he's a great dane." She stared at the fire. "Papa raised me all on his own and taught me everything he knew from history of the families to all my skills to the Simon Ring. Though I'm not the most popular student in the class...or in the school." She scratched her wrists as her gaze never really wandered off from the fire. "Though I have never really been allowed to have my own schedule though. Dad has always formed that for me. I'm never allowed to stay over at a friend's house, nor am I allowed to go to birthday parties or invite friends over to mine. I'm always supervised by Vashle, dad's right hand man. My usual schedule is wake up,school, come home, lunch, training, homework, shower, supper, some play time, sleep, and the repeat. Vashle always said that it was for my own safety, that ever since mom died dad has been over edge of letting me go. So you can say anything I do I've learnt from those shows on tv. I'm not really an outdoor person at all."Yuri said, her voice soft as she closed her eyes, receiving the fire's warmth. "He refuses to listen,he has always refused to listen to anything I say when it came to any of that, saying that our main focus was to restore the Simon family to its proper glory. From that other things happened..."Yuri said as she scratched the scars on her wrists, few of many. She then blinked a few times and laughed. "Oh my I didn't even realized that I talked so much. You need to watch over what I say cause sometimes I'll end up talking your ears off with something that's totally out of the question. Hahaha~" She then looked over at Haru, her red eyes which had the Simon family symbol within them gleaming to the fire. "Haru, can I still call you Haru-kun? Its catchy."

Haru stared at Yuri with irritated eyes. "No, just call me Haru." Haru then rested his arm on his knee, extending his other hand toward the flames. "You're childhood sounds boring, being told to do this and do that. Though, XVII tried to do the same thing to me... However! I never succumbed to doing something I didn't want. You're a goody two shoes, you eerie told to do something and you did it, whether you liked it or not." Haru grinned. "Of course, with my obvious rebellious genius, I had XVII take it easy on me... Can't say the same for Reborn, that guy's a nightmare." Haru then narrowed his eyes on Yuri again. "So~... Explain the scars." Yuri panicked, looking left and right, pretending like she didn't know what he was talking about. "Stop playing dumb already!" Haru crawled around the fire and rolled up Yuri's sleeve. "If you want to something, don't let your body language give it away. Now, what's with these?"

"Bastards!!" Agito was flying through the air, engaged in battle with four cloaked figures, all of which could use the flame of the sky. Agito dodged and kicked, propelling himself from one enemy to another, using the hooks attached to his legs to draw others to himself. "As soon as I get to battle city, I'm getting this f***ing chain removed!" Agito spun and kicked two of the four to the ground, letting them bleed out. "Who's next?!" "Agito of the Milfiore, reading at a 6 out of 10 in strength." "Excuse me?!" Agito looked at the who remained, feeling that their powers were strengthening. Agito smirked, an unbuckling noise could be heard as his arms came loose. "Alright, guess I'll release a little of my power." With Agito's arms free, a dark red aura began to envelop the flames circling him. "His power shot up to 8 out of 10." Agito laughed hysterically. "This is only 10%!" Agito's blades began to rev once again. "Let me show you a power of the likes you've never seen before!" Agito crouched down to his blades, touching the tips until his fingers bled. "Regalia!" Agito's blades turned blood red as his Milfiore Ring began to illuminate from around his neck. "I'm up to 50% now, be afraid." Agito then disappeared and in a flash, the remaining pair had been ripped apart, limb by limb. "Blood Shredder." Agito stood up straight, his aura and flames receding until he appeared as he always did. "Pathetic, all of them. They're nothing more than lumps of flesh now." Agito looked over to his mysterious partner. "Of course, even with this monstrous strength, I'm still human... Unlike you." "Agito, you went too far again." The voice was very flat and without emotion, obviously male. "If you keep doing this, I'll put you in your place." Agito smirked. "You challenging me? Knowing how strong I am?" "If you won't listen, I'll make you listen." "Okay, bring it bandage boy."

Yuri looked over at Haru and then back down at the hoodie. "Hold on. It's easier if I just get it off."Yuri said as she pulled down on the sleeves and unzipped the hoodie, pulling it off her and settling it down on her lap. Both arms were covered in scars. Self inflected, others seemed to big or bad to be self inflicted so obviously inflicted by someone or something else. The scars only led up to more within the covered parts of her body. "These would be my training scars."Yuri said as she once again scratched her wrist as it itched. Even though her arms were covered in scars it was like the most normal thing for her. "Dad always said that training for a Simon wouldn't be easy. So he took it upon himself to build up my pain-immunity."Yuri said with a smile as she smirked. She pointed down her right arm. "No matter how much you cut into my flesh. It will never hurt me! I've been thrown from wall to wall and my flesh cut into pieces over and over,so by now I'm immune to pain!"She said with the most sincere smile. She picked up one of the sticks from the fire and blew the fire off the stick. She offered it to Haru. "Here. Try it."Yuri said as if it were a game. She offered her wrist. "Test me,Haru."Yuri insisted as she smiled.

Haru stared at Yuri, not looking away from her as she put the stick in his hand with a smile. "What's..." Haru stared and his began to narrow painfully. "What is..." Haru dropped the stick and clenched his left hand, slapping Yuri in the face with his right hand. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" Yuri just stared, a little shocked at his strong reaction. "How could you?! How could you possibly put up with that sort of treatment?!" Haru yelled, putting his arms on her shoulders, staring at her while enraged for the way she was brought up. "How can you honestly say that all of that was good?! Immune to pain? I don't think so." Haru stared at the spot where he slapped her, watching it go red as Yuri had little to no reaction to it at all. "You're actually proud of this... The fact that you don't get..." Haru lowered his hands and backed away. "You listen to me and listen good. Even if you are immune to pain, that doesn't mean you won't ever get hurt. Inner pain hurts much more than physical pain." Haru stood up and turned away from Yuri, directing his anger and frustration away from her. "When I get off this island, I'm going to pay your father a visit and I'll show him what I know about pain. Then you'll see that pain is what makes us human."

Yuri stared at Haru. His reaction was beyond of what she expected. Even though where she was hit felt numb to the resistance she had built, his words were both confusing yet angering. As he faced the other way she scoffed it off and picked up her hoodie, quickly getting it back on and zipping it on. She puffed her cheeks in anger as she bit her tounge. "...of course,as if you would understand."She said as she spun, turning her back to the opposite way as she looked down. "You wouldn't understand. The burden a Simon has to carry...if I disappear where would the Simon linage go?! Back to a small family like it was in the time of Simon Decimo?! I have no choice to become numb when it comes to pain."Yuri said with a hiss as she gripped her fists tight. "Both internally and externally."She hissed as she looked away and closed her eyes. "I doubt that you'll be able to do that. Me and dad are gonna be busy as soon as I return. My emotion-removal training was suppose to start today. Yet I'm here. He's surely taking this chance to plan the training ahead."She muttered. She bit her tounge, she refused to admit that Haru was right if he was. She glanced over her shoulder. "This scars are the only thing I have to be proud of. They're a sign of dad's approval."She turned forward. "You belong to the Vongola, you're just a wonderful and well respected family. The Simon,us,we want to be up your level...its our job as the leaders ya know. It has always been."

Haru bit his lip at Yuri's talking, but couldn't hold his anger back any longer. "Who the hell do you think you are?! You think it's easy being Vongola?! I didn't want any of this! But that aside, you're telling me you want your emotions removed?!" Haru looked over his shoulder, glaring at Yuri. "Even if I get reckless, my emotions are what give me strength. You have those removed and all you'll be is a puppet! ... No, you're already a puppet if you think of those scars as way of your father showing you approval! Those aren't scars of approval! Those are the scars of demented child abuse!" Haru stood up and looked down on Yuri. "I pity you. You who simply does not and wishes not to understand the power of feelings. Without pain and loss, how can you ever hope to get stronger?" Haru then clenched his fist before taking a single step back. "I can't handle this anymore! Fight me! No weapons, no flames, just me and you. I need to know why you think that you can gain strength without feelings." Haru then held up his fists in a fighting stance. "Come on! Fight me!"

Yuri gritted her teeth as she clenched up her fists. "Shut up! Papa loves me and these scars are proof that I'm making him proud!"Yuri yelled at the top of her lungs as she stood up and without any warning, tackled Haru down hard into the ground. She made her hands fists and started to punch Haru randomly. She didn't had the psysically strength to fight Haru, but she would let out any frustration onto Haru. She wrapped her hands around Haru's neck rather quickly, her nails digging into Haru's skin as she tightened her grip, the same way such as her father would when he lost his temper with her. Her eyes could kill as they were filled with confusion, fustruation, and anger. She was raised to know no better. "You think emotions are so valued?! H-Have you any idea what punishment you can get if you show such weakness?!"Yuri asked with a wicked smile, almost as if she had finally lost it as years formed up at the edge of her eyes. The two struggled as they rolled around in the dirt, fighting over who would end up winning this one. "(What does he know?! Emotions...I can't show any...if I show any emotion...I won't eat for the night...no...)"Yuri thought, her memories mixing with the current situation. Her grip on Haru's throat didn't lessen as she head-butted her Haru, hard. She pressed her forehead against his as her arms shook as loose tears fell down her cheeks. "Emotions will show weakness, weakness will mean the end of the Simon family!!!"She yelled as she pushed herself so she was ontop, putting more pressure onto his neck. "I-If the Simon ends...there's no place for me in the world..."

Haru stared at Yuri, gripping her arms to try and get her hands from around his neck. "You... Simple... Minded..." Haru was watching as Yuri's tears dropped down onto his face, but he wasn't going to fall for this fake outburst for one second. He got his legs up from underneath Yuri and kicked her off of him. "You are so mentally fragile, it's pathetic! Emotions are not evil and are certainly not a weakness! I guarantee that if you lost all emotion, then you will become an even easier target to destroy!" Haru climbed to his feet and took two steps back, before running at Yuri and punching her in the gut, hard. "There won't be room for you in the world if the Simon disappear?! You actually believe that?! If you're a Mafioso or not, there will always be a place in the world for you!" Haru backed off before Yuri had a chance to hit him. "You can't beat me while denying your emotions." Haru then rushed in a again, punching left and right as Yuri blocked. However, Yuri's guard went down as Haru ducked enough to kick Yuri through her guard, against her chin and knocking her off her feet. After Yuri hit the ground, Haru dragged her back up by her jacket and pinned her against a tree. "I beat you with my emotions, understand that they gave me strength and grow up! Without emotions, you may as well be dead, you understand?"

~Meanwhile~

Akito was rubbing his eye patch as he sat with his back to a tree. "I actually don't believe it, Agito went all out and was still beaten, and now..." Akito winced as he looked down, seeing his entire body covered in deep wounds and lots of blood. "... I'm not entirely sure when he's going to come back out again." Akito looked up to see his partner, the mystery boy who had just put Akito and Agito in their current state. Akito smiled a little, looking at his partner. "Do you think you could help us out a little now, please? I'll try and get Agito to calm down if you do." "Do I have a choice?" The boy clad in black bent down and started to bandage Akito up. "You know, you're not such a bad guy Kuro." "I understand, thank you." Kuro, the boy who has proven himself stronger than Agito. "So Kuro, when are you going to tell us what Famiglia you're from?" "I thought it was obvious?" Akito laughed. "Well of course it is, I just want to hear you say it." Kuro stared, even though bandages covered his face. "Maybe... When I reveal myself to Haru Kimura." Akito laughed once again. "I'm going to look forward to that."

Yuri stared at Haru breathlessly, blood falling down her nose and her cut lip. She didn't felt anything. Absolutely nothing. No pain physically. She chuckled, looking down as by this point her tears had dried up and her skin was already turning blue on where Haru had punched. She tasted blood between her teeth as her stomach hurled,as much as she hated to admit it. She scoffed, does this mean everything she was taught has only been her father taking advantage of her childlike mind? Most likely, but she refused to admit it. She scoffed once more before looking up at Haru, her eyes the most dull they have ever been. "Then call me dead,Haru...this soul is beyond lost in a broken shell."Yuri said in a broken whisper as she smirked a bit, showing her two sharp canines that would most likely stand out from the rest of the teeth. She looked away and into the darkness of the night. "We should rest. Tommorow we should head to battle city. If we want to end up catching up with the rest we should start taking down as much competition as we can."Yuri said. She suddenly smiled brightly, her eyes gleaming as she giggled. "You seem to be selfcentered, yet you worry about me,Haru-kun. Maybe you're not as bad as I originally thought."Yuri squealed.

"Without emotions there will be no pain. With this training you won't ever feel pain ever again.

Haru stared at Yuri and gritted his teeth. "Don't confuse yourself. I don't care about you one bit, I just wanted to point out how much your life makes me sick." Haru dropped Yuri from his grasp, walking away and lying down on the floor on the opposite side of the campfire. He began to put his hands over the bruises that were starting to show up. (Come on Haru, don't fall for her tricks! She's now tried to kill me, even if I did provoke her into doing so. She wasn't trying to beat me, she was trying to kill me.) Haru rolled over onto one side, turning away from Yuri. (I want to head back to Japan so I can finish my training and become the next Vongola.) Haru's eyes then began to flicker, showing that it was hard for him to stay awake, but his body was now starting to ache, keeping him from his beloved rest. "Tch, keep an eye out while I sleep, I don't want to be attacked while I'm sleeping." Haru explained before drifting off to sleep, his breath as silent as could be.

  • Author

Yuri rested against the tree, hugging her knees as she stared at the flickering fire. She heard Haru's slight yet sleepy mutter to watch over as he slept. Yuri tched a bit at herself at that but decided that for the best of the both of them, and for her own safety, she was better off keeping her mouth shut. She looked down at her hands, even with her hoodie they were shaking. She flipped them over and saw Haru's blood caked on her fingernails,as she had fought back,no,as she had attacked him. She rubbed her nails against her jeans in an effort to remove the blood. However just the feeling of when she wrapped her hands around Haru's neck felt extremely familiar. The vulnerability when she was pinned to the tree felt nostalgic in a matter. Has she suffered something like this? Maybe similar...she couldn't remember...or atleast didn't wanted to remember. She wrapped her arms around her, getting them inside the sleeves crisscrossed. "I'm so sorry Haru...We Simon aren't human anymore."She muttered as she rested her head against the tree, refusing to close her eyes. Simply staring out and about the darkness until the sun rose up the next morning.

Haru was sound asleep and completely unaware of the fact that Yuri had apologised. During his time asleep, Haru's mind was plagued by a dream... Or could it have been a memory? Regardless, Haru would be left confused in the morning anyway."Haru-Kun! Are you ready?" Akito Wanijima, only 8 years old, smiled as wide as always with his cheerful expression. Following him was none other than his best friend in the whole world, Haru Kimura, aged 9. "I'm so ready! You'll never beat me!" "3... 2... 1... Go!" The two bolted down a large garden, none other than at the Milfiore's Head Quarters. "I'm gunna win Haru!" "Oh yeah? I don't think so!" Haru then suddenly pulled ahead of Akito, watching as if he tripped somehow. "Yes! I win!" Haru ran all the way to the end without stopping. But as he looked back towards Akito, his face showed all expressions that could have been possibly related to the word 'terrified'. Akito, led on the ground in feral position, screaming out as he held his head. "Akito! Akito, what's wrong?! Come on! Talk to me!" Akito's condition was only getting worse as the adults came and took him away. Haru followed after them, hearing some of the adults talking. "Could it be that Master Lind is finally returning?" "No, these signs aren't showing anything like that... What's that?!" Everyone's attention was brought to Akito as his eyes and expression began to change to a more feral look, his pupils becoming like slits rhather than being circular. "LET ME OUT OF HERE!!! I'LL KILL YOU!!! I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU SH!T HEADS!!!" Akito screamed out, his personality becoming completely unstable. "Looks like... The third brother has been born. Hold him down... Say hello Akito's little brother... Agito." On that day, Haru had learned something about Akito that he would have much rather not known about. Once Agito had become more stable, he was aloud out of from his containment. Haru, who still came to play, could easily sence it, the darkness within Akito's heart that had now burst it's way out to the surface. "Come on! Fight me! You pathetic piece of sh!t!!" "No, let me talk to Akito!" "No, I won't let him go... Haru-Kun." And for the first time, Haru hated being called 'Haru-Kun'."DON'T CALL ME THAT!!!" Haru shouted, the morning sun meeting his gaze painfully. Haru was breathing heavily, but couldn't recall why. But, judging from the way he just shouted, he had a hunch to what he was just thinking about. "I must have had that dream again..." Suddenly, a certain memory came back to him from that time, something that he should have remembered, but didn't until now. "Who the hell... Is Lind?"

Haru's shout startled Yuri more than it should have as she clawed her nails against the tree she leaned against. She blinked a few times, her eyes softening with innocence once realizing it was only Haru dreaming. She then smiled to herself. Whatver had happened last night she hid away in the archive of bad memories, hidden away with lock and key, along with all the horrible sides of childhood of being raised by Simon XVII. "Morning,Haru-kun."Yuri chirped, not even minding to think maybe the shout was meant to her. She raised her hand up to the tree, some bandages wrapped around both as she smiled. "I couldn't bring myself to kill any brids that came around. But would you settle for some peaches?"Yuri asked as she moved her fingers, the ring shinning brightly as she user the gravity to pull a few peaches from the very top of the tree. They weren't big,nor they weren't at their perfect time to be at their sweetest, but it was something. She catched the peaches and looked up to see the birds chirping at the early morning rays. "No one came near us. According to the birds they're all at Battle City. We should start heading there. It's not as far as I first expected."Yuri said as she crawled up next to Haru. "Here, eat up."She said as she offered up the peaches.

Haru looked over his shoulder to see Yuri, still angry at her for what happened the night before and it was very obvious that calling him "Haru-Kun" was not helping. "Yuri, don't call me that." Haru then stared as she offered him a peach. "As if I want anything from the one who tried to kill me last night!" Haru then swiped his hand, knocking the peach out of Yuri's hand and onto the ground. "Just die!" Haru then got up and walked to the other side of the tree, not wanting to see her at that moment. (Why am I always stuck with the crazy ones? Not only that, she's incredibly annoying and stupid. I mean, who on Earth takes pride in their father's beating them and leaving scars that will stay with them for the rest of their lives?! Her entire existence disgusts me!) Haru sat with his arms leaning on his knees. "Lets her going to Battle City so we can get this stupid ass game over with! Do you think you could manage that, "Princess"?"

Yuri's eyes softened as she picked up the peach, cleaning the dirt off it before getting it in her pocket incase of later on. The phrase 'just die',it seemed all to familiar like the situation of last night where she was pinned against the tree, blood falling from her lip and nose. "..." Yuri looked up,turning over to him as he didn't even looked at her straight. Her eyes were soft,as if filled with sadness of confusion, but she didn't really said anything that would show as such. She nodded slightly. "I can handle it."Yuri said as she stood up,being careful not to get herself tangled with the chain as she started to walk over and beyond Haru, pointing up at the horizon where around the tree tops in the distance a skyscraping building could be seen. "We're not that far away. We should get there by foot and save our pills incase we need them to battle."Yuri said as she started to walk, stopping as she turned over to Haru, pulling on the chain a bit as if suggesting for him to move. "Come on,Haru-kun. No need to be grumpy,we'll get there in no time and maybe we can find some good food before you starve."Yuri said not really caring Haru's warnings about the nickname,as it was to catchy for Yuri to really care or mind for.

Haru got to his feet and stuck his hands in his pockets. "Don't call me that." Haru then walked past Yuri, heading in the direction of the skyscraper. The more they progressed, the slower Haru would walk, feeling the intensity of dying will flames that lie only just beyond the next few trees. Haru then crouched down, as his in a bush. Yuri stood there, wondering what he was doing before realising that Haru had yanked the chain, causing her to fall over. "When I crouch, I expect you to do the same, got it?" Haru whispered in a slightly angry tone, leaving Yuri to just nod before she got told off again. Haru inched forward more through the bush to look down upon Battle City which was just below. The sight was filled with what look liked a few hundred people, all fighting each other with their partners. "This is insane... I can't go down there. If we do, I'll get killed." Haru looked down as he strangely remembered a meeting he had with Vongola XVII.

Haru sat down in XVII's office, eating chocolate with a pair of headphones around his neck as the Vongola himself explained to him about the decadely Mafioso Trials. "Now, Haru, I'm sure you know about the Mafioso Trials?" "Yeah yeah..." Haru was concentrating on his music and eating, not giving XVII much notice. "Yes, well, the Mafioso Trials occurs once every ten years and the winning family retains control over all other Mafia Families. "For the past 300 years, the Vongola family has triumphed all other families." "Yay us..." Haru exclaimed without the slightest interest. "However! ... This year, the families wish to see the blood of Primo and Decimo in action." "Sure, whatever..." "Haru, as soon as you start this game, everyone is going to be coming after you. You will be their target and they will try to kill you." "Yeah~... I'm tired..." "Did you hear everything I said?" "Yeah, something about Mafioso Trials and people trying to kill me." XVII sighed and put his head in his hand. "I guess that's close enough..."

Haru's eyes twitched, realising how stupid he had been. "I guess he did tell me... Take out Vongola and anyone could take control. I need to stay alive." Haru then pulled on his chain. "Come on Yuri, we're going to that big sky scraper over and head to the top of it. That way, we'll get a birds eye view of everything that's going on down there."

Yuri looked over at Haru as he pulled on the chain. "I'm not a puppy don't pull."Yuri whined as she looked over at the skyscraper. The fighting families were scrambled everywhere. There wasn't a second where there wasn't a scream or a sound of something or someone crashing. The scent of blood and smoke and dust was eminent the closer they got to the city. Yuri glanced over at Haru for a second, quickly looking away as she slightly scratched her cheek where the plaster was. "Well we'll have to sneak by foot and then fly up on the opposite side of the battlefield. If we fly directly we'll be red targets."Yuri mentioned as she glanced at Haru once again and then back at the city. As the two sneaked around, being careful not to be spotted or get involved in a battle. As they ran by one of the allyways one of the teams was sent crashing through the buildings above them, only for the team to get back up and jump back into battle. The two stopped by a corner looking for an opening. Yuri got distracted by the fights for a few seconds. She watched as teams fell and rose and fell again. They were almost caught by bullets as they slammed themselves against the wall, bearly missing them. The place was hetic! "(This place is nuts! I've never seen so much blood before either. Not aleast then...)"Yuri thought as she trailed off.

The sound of clacking chains echoed through the room as 5 year old Yuri pulled on them. They pulled on her extremities as she tried to bite them off,but she couldn't even reach them. The basement of the Simon HQ was used as a training ground, the chains were new, atleast to Yuri. Was father playing a prank on her? One moment she was sleeping in her room the next she was chained up. She heard the footsteps as she saw her dad walk up. He wore his usual suit. He had long red hair which he kept in a professional ponytail. His eyes were the same as Yuri's: red with the Simon family emblem in them colored black. "Papa! You came to rescue me!"Young Yuri yelled in happiness. She pulled upon the chains again. "Papa, get these off me. I don't even know how long I've been here. The guys must of pulled a prank on me."Yuri said in a cheerful manner as she smiled. Her father's serious expression never wavered. He was never truly the same after Yarina's death. The accident was so sudden. He truly preferred to had lost Yuri than to had lost his beloved wife. The reason she was even out in that car was because of Yuri's first birthday that was coming up,and she had gone to get a gift for her. She never made it back home. So was Yuri to blame for Yarina's death? Even though whenever he looked Yuri it was like looking at Yarina,it just angered him to no end. His eye twitched as Yuri hadn't stopped talking while I was explaining this whole thing. He slammed his hand which held his glass of red whine against the wall as he yelled, the glass shattering into pieces. "Shut up Yuri can't you just give me a break?!" Yuri instantly stopped as she stared confused. He sighed. "(Come on Ichiro, get your head together...)"He thought as he looked down at his hand as a cut was formed from the breaking glass. As he watched blood flow down from his hand wound onto the floor, mixing with the wine,it was as if something had sparked inside of him...or more like snapped. "Yuri,do you know who you are?"Ichiro asked. Yuri looked up thoughtfully and then smiled. "I'm Yuri Rossatto!"She squealed. "Yes,and you are a?" "Simon?" "Yes,and what is your duty?" Yuri didn't answer, not really knowing it. "To continue the Simon line!"Ichiro yelled. Yuri looked down. "Sorry."She muttered. Ichiro walked over back to the table, picking up something. "For a time I've thought that you're growing well. However...you're to carefree. If your mother was here she'd tell me I'm talking nonsense and that I should just let you be a kid until you mature to take things seriously."Ichiro said as he smiled at this a bit. Then he frowned. "...but she's not here."Ichiro muttered as he walked up to Yuri. Yuri looked up at him as his Simon ring shined with the light shinning down on it. It was barely then when she noticed what he had picked up. "If you're going to continue the Simon line...if you're going to get us one step closer to be equal to be Vongola...we're gonna have to set you straight,Yuri, and make you stronger than any other of the family children of the mafia."Ichiro said with a look of madness in his eyes. He moved his hand and wrapped the chunks of leather against his fist. Yuri shook a bit. "Papa, what did I do wrong?! Did I forget to clean up my room?! I know I cleaned up my room..."She muttered shaking, not really knowing why she was going to be punished for. "This isn't punishment Yuri."Ichiro said as he rose his hand.

"This is training."

CRACK

Yuri was brought back to reality as Haru pulled on the chain, having her dodge a chunk of cement that fell from one of the buildings. She shook her head and breathed in relief. "Thanks."She muttered to Haru, but they were already moving again. It was then when Yuri saw as one of the mafia children fell unconscious, defeated and badly hurt. Suddenlt she saw the boy disappear in a flash of black, only to be replaced by another person, and just like that, they continued to fight. "What the..."Yuri's eyes sharpened before she was pulled again by the chain, having her keep up again. "Haru, what do you think happens when you lose in this game?"

Haru looked over his shoulder for a few seconds before looking back. "Either the moderators take us out of the game when we're too injured to continue, or..." Haru got his back to a wall and peaked around a corner. "... We die." Haru then looked back and saw an open window. "Follow me." Haru said with complete confidence, not worried by the fact that he could indeed die in this game. The two made their way inside the building, looking around cautiously. Haru groaned a little before walking over to the fridge, taking out a bag of chocolates. Haru scoffed the chocolates, leaving a few for Yuri before hgiving them to her. "Keep your sugar levels up, it helps." Haru wiped his face as Yuri finished eating. The two made their way to the door when Haru noticed a shadow at the window. "Crap." Haru dragged Yuri underneath the table, keeping a hand over her mouth the entire time. Just then, a man opened the door to the building as what seemed to be his partner stood outside on guard. "What is it?" "I thought I saw someone in here." "Well, go check it out then." Haru panicked as the first man entered the building, slowly getting closer. (Crap! This is bad! If he notices us, we'll get caught up in this entire fight! I'll end up dead, they'll kill me!) Sweat dripped down from Haru's face as the man stood right next to the table. (We're dead! We're dead! We're dead!!) Without warning, the man stood at the door was attacked and the first man left to back him up. Haru grabbed Yuri's hand, using this chance to get out of the building and run back into the darkness of the alleyways. "That was too close." Haru then noticed he was still holding Yuri's hand. He immediately threw it away from him, rubbing his hand in his jeans as if he were trying to rub off something. "Lets go." Haru then began to lead the way to the skyscraper, the two eventually making their way inside. "Alright, now that we're here, lets take the elevator. If we fly up, we're sure to get shot. Besides, I doubt anyone would think to use the elevator inside the building." Haru then walked inside the elevator and pushed the button to take them to the roof as soon as Yuri stepped inside. "I just hope this thing doesn't get stuck. If it does, I'll be stick with you that much longer." Haru sighed as the two rode the elevator to the rooftop.

Yuri remained silent most of the elevator ride. The violence that surrounded the city was rather upsetting atleast to her as it brought memories and reasons that she preffered to have them kept secret and locked away in the deepest parts of her mind. She looked down at her hand slightly, the one that held Haru's moments ago. Due to her father's training she couldn't feel anything. No pain,no touch,no ticklish,no cold nor not. Yet it was as if the Vongola flame was strong enough for even her to feel. Was this...warmth? She hadn't felt it in years so she wouldn't know. "(I guess the Vongola blood are truely strong no matter who or what.)"Yuri concluded as she glanced up at Haru. He would usually be as cool as a cucumber but as soon as they got to the city he was as jumpy as a wallaby. The losers would dissapear, their fate unknown,it is indeed worrying plus the shame brought upon the family of not winning. But Haru's worries seemed to lay somewhere deeper..."Haru-kun,why are you afraid to die?"Yuri asked as she turned over to him,the elevator door opening as they had reached the roof.

Haru stared watching the doors open, trying to process exactly what Yuri just said. "I... I'm not afraid!" Haru immediately protested. He then coughed and put his arms in his pockets, calming down slightly. "I'm not afraid of dying... I just don't want to. If I die, Vongola will be finished and all of hell will break loose. Seriously, Vongola help to keep the other Mafia families from waging war, it would greatly damage the world if I disappeared." Haru said trying to cover up his real reasons. (I don't want to die... I can't die! Not yet... Not until I set things right...) Haru was staring off into the distance before looking at his hand. "Yuri... I... No, forget it." Haru then walked out and Yuri followed, the two walking to the edge of the roof and looking down at the battles that occurred below. "I'm glad we came up here, those idiots won't look up here." "I'll say, well done Haru-Kun." Haru turned around suddenly to see a badly beaten up Akito chained to his mysterious partner Kuro. "Akito? What are you doing here?" "The same as you I guess." Haru calmed down, but kept his guard. "And how about Agito?" "He's out like a light and probably won't wake up for a few hours." "Why what happened?" Akito skated over and rested against a wall. "Agito was on another one of his rampages and Kuro-Kun stopped him. Isn't that right Kuro?" Akito asked smiling, Kuro nodded without a word. "Ummm, Akito, exactly who is Kuro? I've never seen him before." "Well of course not..." Akito took out a bottle of water and started drinking. "You haven't seen Kuro-Kun before because he's a brand new boss, and a powerful one too." "Oh yeah, which family?" Then, Kuro took down the hood of his cloak and both Haru and Yuri stared in shock to see the familiar bandages that covered the majority of his face. "I am Kuro Von Veckenschtein, heir to the Vindice and son of the Arcobaleno, Bermuda Von Veckenschtein, nice to meet you, Haru Kimura and Yuri Rosatto."

Yuri closed her eyes at Haru's explanation as she smirked a bit to herself. "(Good enough.)"She thought. She suddenly looked up and almost froze at the mention of the name: Vindice. The protectors of the Mafia laws. Anyone who is to defy any mafia law from small to big,if not encountered by others first, they would be encountered by them, and hell would have to be paid if they were involved. "Vindice,I haven't heard of them since the time of the Decimos. So they've returned."Yuri said with crossed arms as she looked over at Akito. "I'm starting to feel sorry for you Akito, having to share a body with someone as violent as Agito."Yuri smiled a bit, only for her smile to fade as she then thought of her own body, how would an alter ego feel about looking like a rag doll sown up from pieces. Not as if she had much of a choice. She felt her troath choke a bit as she shook off the feeling of remembrance and of the fact that she had to return home...to training. How scared she felt for a second as she thought of what possibly could be next. It's not like she had any choice to run away. She was Simon by blood,Ichiro would track her down if its the last thing he does and oh the punishment she would receive when she was found. Though by this point she felt nothing on the outside,on the inside she was hurting badly, her heart beating fast with adrenaline wondering if it would be the day that her father would decide that she was finished with training. Just before he got here, her father had mentioned of making her emotionally numb to fully accomplish the training. She was scared to death what that meant. If hurting her physically was for body pain immunity, what would he do to numb her emotionally...no,she couldn't think like that, not now,not when they had a game to play. These thoughts would be for later, when time was available for resolvement. "Well so far everyone's beating eachother's asses down there. We should stay here and enjoy the show if anything."Yuri said as she rested against the fence of the roof and then glanced at Haru. "Haru's been as jumpy as a wallaby since we arrived to the city."Yuri smirked as she looked over at Haru.~Meanwhile~In a computer room the sound of typing could be heard as the group on the roof of Milfore,Vendice,Vongola and Simon was shown on a monitor. It suddenly zoomed in on Haru. "We've found Vongola. Should we send hints of his location to the others?"A man by the computer asked as a young woman sat on a chair, her eyes emotionless. "No,not yet."She said. "Let's wait by nightfall,he won't be expecting it."
