Does anybody else wonder what happened to the Fake Riku from CoM?

Just finished another playthrough of Re: CoM, and I just started wondering, what happened to the Fake Riku? During the credits, you see him turn around and Axel appears and holds out his hand to him, then that's it. As far as I know, we never found out what happened.

Personally, I think it would be cool if he surprisingly appeared in KH3 for something.
