The Immortal Grand Prix, IGPX for short. The most popular competition in the mid 21st century. Giant mechs race against each other and beat each other into submission to take the checkered flag. Normally races are divided by one team against another, each team featuring 3 mechs designed after their respective positions, the speedy forward, the balanced midfielder, and the brutal defender. There are three leagues. IG-3, IG-2, IG-1, each more professional than the rest. Now, a new generation of racers will compete one on one in the IG-I (IGPX Independent) in attempt to being accepted into the IG-3 and eventually climbing to the IG-1 championships.

 

 

Rules and Stuff

-Please keep swearing to a minimum

-Romance is allowed. Nothing more explicit than a kiss

-You must stick with the RP. Let me know if you'd like to retire, but if you just leave, we will all scorn you

-If someone's not posting, assist me in pestering them to do so

-follow this and the official thread

-This topic can also be used for general discussion as to what's occurring in the actual RP

-multiple characters allowed. Up to one of each mech type per RPer

-Remember you're amateur pilots driving giant robots, nothing too ninja when your fighting in a race

-Races are three laps. Each page in the RP will account for a lap. When courses grow more specific, I'll mention what obstacles come to pass after a certain amount of posts.

-If you're not racing, feel free to account for off the track drama with fellow characters

-Type Fight to the Finish at the end of your sign up sheet to prove that you've read all these

-I guess you're allowed to sabotage mechs before a race, but if you're disqualified from the IGPX either for that, or foul racing, or off the track offense, you'll be banned from the RP as well

-We're starting out in the IG-I, so you'll be racing for yourself, but eventually you'll have to form a team consisting of one of each mech type and you'll probably be stuck with them until the RP dies/finishes

-This RP will last a very long time. Starting out in the IG-I and progressing all the way to the IG-1. It'll probably end with the IG-1 championships. If you'd like, we could all do another season in the IG-1 afterward

Age: 15 would be prodigious, 16+ works too, probably less than 30 would help too

Gender: Male or Female. One or the other, they can look both or cross-dress if you want; they had to be born one or the other though.

Appearance: Pictures appreciated. Descriptions accepted.

Bio: Your character's past. Primarily what got them involved in the IGPX

Mech Type: Forward (primarily speed based) Midfielder (Balanced and maneuverable) or Defender (heavy hitting)

Color Scheme: Your mech gets two colors to decorate it

Other Mech Details: Patterns, etc. Optional section.

Mech Upgrade: You get one custom upgrade to your mech, you get another upgrade every time you advance a league. These can enhance performance or give you an edge in battle. I'll make a judgement call on whether or not it's allowed

Bio: Blake has always had a need for speed. Once he turned sixteen, he began training. The next year, he applied for the IGPX Independent. He realized the thrill of fighting and his hasty impulsiveness has gone down slightly and was given a brother: bloodthirst. In a figurative sense of course. Blake just enjoys being able to beat someone. Fighting and racing had become his favorite things and he was ready to excel in it all.

Mech Type: Midfielder

Color Scheme: Black and Red

Other Mech Details: Mostly black. The red is a lightning-like pattern along back and limbs and flamy on the mech's shoulders

Mech Upgrade: Sonic pulse at the end of each of the mech's limbs to either give him a quick burst of speed or deliver a brutal blow. Can only use 5 times in one race.

Age: 16(If it's OK...

Gender: Male

Appearance: Appearance: a six-foot tall teen, thick legs and barely thicker than pencil arms that are stronger than they look, having a hitchhikers thumb and a double-jointed one of the left hand(Yaay specifics.) and has a bit of a stomach, but it's not too bad, since he has a longer torso. He has dark-brown nearly black hair, as well as for his eyecolor, he is a light-tan in his skintone with pudgy cheeks and marks from his face that come from smiling a lot. He is wearing a red, black, white, and red-orange flannel and black jeans with black with red stitching high-top sneakers

Bio: Ren wasn't always the best... Racer... but he could fight and block better than the rest, being quite fast at pummeling people who would dare try and harm his friends or family, but almost always loosing in a footrace. One day, as fate would have it, though, Ren was at a race, and got lost on his way back to his seat after he went to get snacks before the race started, and wound up in a fight with one of the racers, the group's defender, in fact, and with little time to spare after Ren KO'd the defender of their team, they forced him to race with the team as their defender. As chance would have it, the team managed a win, and Ren found a love of being a defender in the IGPX world, deciding the moment after to become an official racer and do his best to win the Independent League, and then go on farther beyond.

Color Scheme: dark Red and dark green.

Other Mech Details: the colors have a wind-like effect with a lighter version green or red(Red on green, green on red)

Mech Upgrade: The chassis is made of an extremely strong, heavy metal(The reason for the upgrade), and thus requires a extremely strong, high-speed booster in order to keep up, the booster has a wave pulse that pushes it farther, and can be saved up to generate an even larger push, but it cost's the speed until this is done, it can only be charged once per match safely, but can be used 3 times total, but each time used increases the chances of blowing the booster out and knocking Ren from the race, also threatens his safety, and can injure or kill him if too much stress is placed on it at once.

You know me, I'm a stickler for the rules and therefor I read them, but Fight to the Finish.
