Author's note: This is the first original story I've ever written, and actually got serious about. ;D *lacks imagination* Yes, it is a story about a vampire (and a telepath. 'Cause telepaths pwn.) but I tried to make it as un-Twilight like as possible. So, please read and give me your advice! The first few chapters are kind of old though (I just recently started writing it again), so please bear with me. (And, on a side note, I feel like I'm spamming you all with stories. -w-;; )

 

Prologue

An interesting prolouge. Perhaps put into more detail on who they are, where they are, and what they look like. But besides details I can't say much. (Seems I must get back to my own story about WEREWOLVES -.-')

(Author's note: Yes, Axel is my OC. -w- And he's nothing like the KH Axel.)

 

Chapter 1: (Axel's point of view)

 

I stared out of the car window at the bleak countryside. Nothing but fields and forests. I looked at the sky. Nothing but clouds. I sighed and shrank back into my seat. This was the fourth time this year that we were moving. Why couldn't we just stay in one place for once? At least the last place we were was sunny. The dreary New Hampshire countryside wasn't looking to promising. Would it ever get sunny?

 

"Mom?" I asked.

 

"What Axel? I'm trying to drive." She answered back irritably.

 

"Never mind," I mumbled. Why couldn't my parents take the time to listen to me? It would take no more than 5 seconds of their time. The car slowly, started to stop. Were we there? I looked out the window and immediately began to hope that we were. Outside my window was the biggest mansion I had ever seen. It was old-fashioned looking, yes, but it was amazing all the same. It was very tall and wide, and it was the paint was the purest white I had ever seen. There were many windows and each had a flower box on the sill (or at least all of the windows I could see had one).

 

"Is this our new house??" I inquired.

 

"Yup!" My dad said proudly," And we got it for a good price too." He added, ruffling my hair.

 

"Dad! You know I hate it when you do that," I complained, trying to brush my hair back to normal with my hand. It was black, messy, and very hard to control.

 

"Well, c'mon then!" He said, "Let's take a look inside!" My dad led us all into the mansion. I stopped breathing.

 

To say it was the most beautiful house I had ever been in was a major understatement. The entryway led into a large parlor, with two grand staircases on either side. Opposite from the doors was a huge window, no doubt fitted with hurricane glass. I stood in awe at the beautiful sight.

 

"Axey! Axey, come look at this!" my 6-year-old sister, Kari, chirped. I cringed. I had always hated that nickname. She grabbed my hand and dragged me over to the window. "Isn't it prettyyyy?"

 

Through the window I could see the ocean hitting up against the rocky shoreline. I knew that we were moving to a house by the coastline, but I didn't think that we were going to be THIS close.

 

"Mom! You didn't tell me we were--" I spun around, and then stopped abruptly. Standing so close to me we were almost touching was a tall man.

 

"I see you've noticed the MAGNIFICENT coastline. I must say, it makes me quite glad that you've taken a fancy to it. Most people consider it a turn-off," he said pleasantly. His eyes were slate gray and framed by a mop of light blond hair.

 

"J-just wh-what do you think you're doing? This is OUR house! Get out!" I gave him a rough shove and pointed to the door.

 

"Tsk. Not so." He pulled a key out of his pocket and waved it in front of my face. "THIS is the key to the house, and if I am in possession of it, that, more or less, makes me the owner of the house, no?" He folded his arms across his chest and shot me a smug smile.

 

"Mr.Sinclair! We've been looking for you!" My dad trotted over to the man and extended his hand. "I'm Bob Manchineel."

 

"Oh, yes! Mr. Manchineel! A pleasure to FINALLY meet you! I'm Marcellus Sinclair, as you might have inferred." They laughed and shook hands. Mr. Sinclair then looked over Dad's shoulder at my mom.

 

"And you must be the lovely Rebecca Manchineel!" He reached over and shook her hand as well. "A pleasure meeting you, as well!"

 

"To you too, Mr. Sinclair! And these are our children, Axel and Kari. Axel, Kari, this is Marcellus Sinclair, the world's youngest multi-millionaire! You're very lucky that you're getting to meet him, y'know!" She grinned at us like we were the multi-millionaires.

 

"We met," I grumbled irritably. Mr. Sinclair just went on like he didn't hear me.

 

"Oh, yes! Axel and Kari! That reminds me! There's something I want to show you!" He grinned.

 

"Axel, Kari, why don't you go see what Mr. Sinclair has to show you? We were just going to take a look at the garden," my mother chirped, walking towards the garden door. My dad followed. They didn't wait for an answer.
