What if Sam and Dean had quit? What if they hadn't stopped the apocalypse? What if it was all up to you?

based on the tv show Supernatural

 a 1x1 with Josh wilson

It wasn't that hunters were fearless. Alia couldn't deny the terror that caused her heart to beat frantically against her chest or the adrenaline coursing through her veins. What made hunters special was the ability to overcome that instinctive fear. She took a deep breath and tightened her grip on the demon-killing knife she'd secured on a recent hunt. A blur as she dove around the brick wall she'd concealed herself behind, Alia drove the knife into the demon's neck. Its eyes widened and flashed red for a moment before the life faded out of them. Breathing heavily, Alia yanked the knife out of the body and glanced around her. She was in someone's backyard, but luckily she hadn't woken the homeowner. The night was chilly, but the moon was full and they would have seen Alia standing in the yard. Though the demon had been chasing her first, it was kind of difficult to explain to a regular person why she had killed a man on their property. Alia wiped the blood onto her pants and shoved her knife back inside her jacket. After the demon had ambushed her, she'd ended up in an area she was unfamiliar with. She pulled out her cellphone and dialed a familiar number. He picked up on the first ring. "James, I'm gonna need a ride." Alia scanned the moonlit suburb for a street sign. "I'm on...Hayward Court."

It took all the willpower Alia had not to shove the shimmering form of Michael off of James. She couldn't let him go. He could die. She clenched her fists and closed her eyes as James's body shined with golden light. It was too late to stop it, and from that moment on, it wasn't James anymore. It was Michael, and she was not going to stick with the angel who was going to kill her. Alia's eyes were still squeezed shut, but on the off chance that James could still hear her, she said, "Goodbye, James. Don't feel bad about what happens to me, okay? It's got to happen." She opened her eyes but didn't dare look at Michael. She just turned and ran.

James felt a bright light. Then he woke up in a white room with the angel Michel in front of him. "Am I dead? Did you do it?"

"Wait. No... Is this what possession feels like..." He didn't remember much from the time Vince did it. He walked towards the angel , and it disappeared. He looked to his right, and a t.v appeared. It had a label that said 'vision'. The TV turned on, and he saw Alia. "Wait... Is this my mind!?" He heard Alias words. "It dosent have to be this way!" He said. His word wouldn't reach her. He was just a vessel now, after all. He could only watch, as Michael used his body.

(Sorry for double post. Had to submit b4 going to parents house.)

Alia wasn't really sure where she was running to. It took her a moment to get her bearings and decide on where to go. She sprinted back toward the hotel and jimmied open the door to James's car with her knife. He always kept a key hidden in the sun shield. She retrieved the key and started up his car, hoping that her nonexistent driving skills wouldn't get her killed before she had a chance to become Lucifer's vessel. She stomped on the gas and sped toward Garth's house.

"Michael!" James screamed. "I want to talk to you! Tell me what the gameplan is! Were you just trying to kill her?" As much as he loved looking at a tv of himself, he had to have company. It would help him to stay sane. To not completely give in. Maybey he could control this power, an bring Alia back after her death.

(I know I was supposed to control the angels, but I think it'd be easier if you controlled Michael and I controlled Lucifer at the moment)

Garth's house was roughly a two hour drive away, but Alia was there in slightly over one hour. It was a miracle she hadn't been pulled over. She had some work left before she died. "Garth!" She pounded on the door and prayed he was home. The door cracked open a few moments later.

"Well, hey, Alia!"

Before he had a chance to start talking and hugging her, Alia said, "I need to be quick, Garth. Really quick. Some stuff is about to go down, and I can't tell you what right now, but you need to do me a few favors. First, you're going to need to find James for me. I don't know when. Just keep calling his phone. When it's him again, he'll pick up. Make sure he's okay and get him set up in a normal life. Take away all of his weapons so that he can't hunt again. Second, you've got to be sure that he doesn't try to bring me back. I know this isn't much information and I'm sorry, but thanks for everything, Garth."

She sprinted toward the car and sped off. She couldn't do this anywhere that someone could see. She pulled off in the nearest empty lot. High fences surrounded the old, cracked parking lot, so hopefully she'd go unnoticed.

"Lucifer!"

(I was thinking the same thing. Was gonna ask permission anyway.)

Michael enterd the room. "Our father appreciates the sacrifice you are making, my brother."

James was not interested. "So, are we going to teleport and catch her?"

Michael sighed " Your body is not suited for such things yet, my vessel."

"Please, call me James and-" he heard a ringing sound "you hear that?"

Michael frowned. "That infernal sound won't stop!" He looked at James "Do you know what that is?"

"Yes." James said "it's my phone., pick it up and press the green button"

"You humans and your devices." Michael said "All your machines do is make sound" he picked up the phone "who is this?"

(I think you intended for it to be Garth, but he's not going to call until after the fight)

"Um," Alia was trying to control her heavy breathing. All she could see was bright light, and she didn't have long before Lucifer possessed her. "I, um, this is for James, not you, Michael. I--I wanted to say no hard feelings, okay? And I...I didn't want to be alone when this happens. Don't worry about anything you've got to do. Saving the world is more important than saving me." She could feel a terrible twisting in her gut, and Alia knew she only had a few seconds before Lucifer took over. "Be careful, okay?"

Michael felt pity for the girl and vessel. "He will recive the message. His holiness appreciates your sacrifice." He hung up the phone. He sensed the battle was comming. He sat on a bench, drew his sword, and waited for the adversary to each him.

Alia could care less what any stupid god thought of her actions. She fought for herself and James alone. But she was at least relieved to know that James could hear her. She wouldn't be totally alone.

In an instant, she was gone. One moment she was in complete control of her body, and in the next she couldn't control a thing. Alia tried to control the terror coursing through her, but there was no going back. Lucifer didn't say a word to her. He simply jumped in James's car and began to drive. He must have had access to Alia's memories to know where he was going and how to drive.

Alia almost felt relief. She was still scared, sure, but soon it would be over. She could die and after that the world wouldn't be her responsibility anymore.

After 30 minutes, Michael saw the car in the distance "It is time, vessel." Standing in front of the cars, Michael swung his sword, and holy flame shot out. The flames blew up the car, but Michael knew it was far from over. "Lucifer, this fight has gone on for way too long. Now, will we end it like men?"

  • Author

Holy crap! They couldn't have this fight in front of the public! Alia was flipping out internally, but there was nothing she could do to stop it now. Though the explosion should have killed her instantly, she felt no pain. It was Lucifer's angelic spirit that was holding her body together. There was no doubt now--the moment he left, she was dead. Alia took a deep breath. She knew Lucifer had only accepted her request to be his vessel because he was sure she couldn't overpower him. But she didn't need to do it for long. She just needed to fight off Lucifer long enough to let Michael get in a killing blow.

Lucifer stood and removed Alia's knife. "I'm sorry about what I must do, Michael. I wish we could be brothers again."

James could not believe that the apocalypse final battle was taking place in Utah. He' thought it be somewhere cooler, like, in the tower of bable, and certainly, never thought it would involve him.

"I wish that too." Said Michael "but you have angerd father for too long! And now it must end!" Michael lunged at lucifer with his sword.

Lucifer ducked under Michael's attack. Now was the best chance Alia was going to get. She wasn't quite she how she was going to take over. She could still see through her own eyes, even if she wasn't controlling her actions. She was paying no attention to the battle anymore. She tried to force her body to move. And slowly, very, very, slowly, she felt her finger twitch. She could feel Lucifer's shock, and suddenly it wasn't just a battle between Michael and Lucifer--now it was between Alia and Lucifer too. Pushing out Lucifer was pure agony. Suddenly the injuries she'd sustained from the blast were front and center. Lucifer was still keeping her alive, but there was nothing holding back the pain. She couldn't force any words out of her mouth, so she forced herself to stare straight into Michael's eyes, hoping that he would get the message. If only for a moment, Lucifer was not in control. It was going to be the best chance Michael got.

"She's got him!" Said James. Michael was astounded "How?" "She won't hold for long!" Said James "let me out!"

"Why?" Said Michael.

"She may be lucifer's vessel, but shes my friend, and I will be the only one to kill her! It's what she wants!"

Michael paused "Such honor... You are truly closer to a knight of The Lord. I will let you."

James opend his eyes. He saw Alia, struggling to hold lucifer back. He knew this would save everyone. If only....

No.

It had to be now.

Tears formed in his eyes. "Goodbye."

The sword came down, and chopped her head off.

It was over.

All he could do was scream. Scream at how he had been so wronged, at the life he had to take.

It was the loudest he had ever yelled.

Alia was totally stunned. She couldn't remember anything, couldn't figure out where she was. Her vision was blurring red, and everything around her was pitch black. She could hear screaming--thousands of screams, all blending together in a terrifying, bone-chilling wail. Goosebumps rose on her arms, and suddenly she was burning. Everything hurt, and she couldn't see, couldn't find her way out of an invisible fire. She screamed for help. Couldn't anyone hear her? Though it felt like people were screaming only inches away from her, she couldn't feel or touch anyone. It hit her like a kick in the gut. She wasn't in a fire. She was in hell.

James heard his phone ring. "Hello, who is this?" He heard the voice. It was Garth, Alias contact. James responded in a cold, determined voice."Good, because I want to work on two things. One. Keeping this job; I'll get another partner if you have one. Two. Ressurection. I will work every minute until I get her back. I will only stop when she is back. With or without you. Is that clear?"

Things came back to her in chunks. It was like her mind was too overwhelmed by the agony of the fire to really focus on remembering anything. She'd volunteered to be Lucifer's vessel, so she was dead. And what had happened to James? Alia couldn't quite remember the fight, so she could only hope that he hadn't been seriously injured. She would know if he was trapped in hell with her, right? Logically, shouldn't they be nearby? She tried to force herself to scream a name rather than just gutteral sounds of pain. "James! James, are you here? It's Alia!" And, thankfully, she didn't hear a single reply besides the other screams. So it was just her who was dead. The apocalypse must have been ended. And while she was going to suffer this terrible, scorching pain forever, at least James had made it and they'd saved the world. She was almost able to smile.

"Hi, little girl!" Said Vince, walking his way to Alia. "I wanted to see how my bro's girlfriend was doing. Feeling toasty?"

  • Author

Alia didn't answer Vince. Partly because she didn't want to give him the pleasure of seeing her at her lowest, and partly because she wasn't sure she could do anything but scream. There were other parts of hell--she knew from the stories Dean had mentioned to her. There were parts that were even more painful than the pit of invisible fire she was standing in. Though it wasn't much comfort, at least this wasn't the worst. Why was she here, anyway? She'd never done anything wrong. She fought monsters, she saved lives. She'd died to protect the entire world! Didn't she deserve a spot in heaven? How much more would she have had to do to earn a place there? She may not have been perfect, but Alia knew that she sure as hell didn't belong in hell.

"So, I'm guessing you are wondering why you are here? Right?" He smiled. " I'm trying to figure that as well. Maybey it's because you worked as the big mans vessel, Huh?" He frowned "man, are those angels strict... We are much more leinient on the whole 'evil' thing. Why do you think we have multiple layers?"

  • Author

It didn't matter what Vince said. Alia was going to ignore him until he left her the hell alone. She didn't need to deal with some stupid self-absorbed demon when she had other things to worry about. For starters, she wasn't going to stay where she was. Alia wasn't going to spend her eternity burning for no reason. So she ran. Away from Vince, crashing into other souls. Everyone was screaming and the pain of the fire didn't dissipate, but there had to be an end. It might be miles away, but she was going to get there. She'd find a way out.

"You know you can't escape me, right?" Vince said. "This is kinda my domain." He gave her an iPhone with a play button on it. " Wanna see what your friend is doing?"

  • Author

God, yes, Alia wanted to know what James was doing. Was he okay? Had he been injured in the fight? Had Garth found him yet? What the hell was that boy doing and how was he going to survive without her? But Alia couldn't trust Vince. He could manipulate a video however he wanted. "No, I don't want to see!" She chucked the iPhone deeper into the invisible flames and began to run again. It hurt so bad. She could find a way out, couldn't she? There had to be a way.

"Now come on! How come you are just going to turn down hospitality like that?" Vince said

It had been a long night for James. He was on the road again. Another dead end. "Why won't you help me, Michael!" He said to the vestige in his body.

"Puriel and the others have spoken. I cannot bring her back. And trying again won't work this time, I'm afraid."

He was on his way to Garth. Apparently he had 'more news'.

It was a struggle to force words out of Alia's mouth. Screaming was all she could manage, even though her throat was quickly burning with a different kind of fire. She couldn't stay here. She would escape. She let those words play through her mind like a mantra and tried to think of James. Poor kid had to kill her. It had been over so quickly that Alia really hadn't even gotten a chance to look at James. Had Michael left him yet? She pushed on through the fire. God, it hurt. It hurt like nothing she could even begin to describe, but at least she was making progress. Toward what she wasn't sure, but it sure as hell beat sitting around burning for eternity.
