False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

Shougo:

Horizon, you seem a bit vexed, is something the matter?

It was looking like there was more and more of them. Even though every hit was made with precision the sea of Enforcers looked never ending. Glancing at his hand Nova had and idea, "Take this!!" He sent a starburst at a light hung on the wall, as he expected the light had fallen on his shrunken opponents leaving a group of them crushed.

Daichie: (while collapsed)

[flashback] Blood...So much blood *sees his mom's body* MOM NO MOM! *starts sobbing* NO.... no.... why *sees dad* "ANSWER ME!!!"

Dad: I'm so sorry [walks out the door] (Scene fades out)

*Darkness* [a female silhouette comes into view] "you can't let your past haunt you forever Kirisaki"

"who..who are you and where am I?"

silhouette "it seems you have forgotten your strength Kiri"

(A scene fades in) [dark streets, raining, a small crying boy crouched against the wall]

"is that me?"

[people walking by "who is that boy?" "man sucks to be him" "shh he'll hear you, just let him be"  A feminine figure walks by "oh...what's happened to you? oh poor thing come here" (scene fades out)

*Darkness*

*a tear falls down his right eye*

(another scene fast forward a couple years) [a boy struggling against his adversaries]

Boy, "that bread is mine!"

Others: "not for long" [punches the kid in the eye, boy collapses]

Others, "haha filthy homeless boy" [boy is left collapsed on the alley floor, his body is fragile, thin, weak.

[a couple hours pass by] A feminine figure walks in "Kirisaki!, come on come back to me"

(Scene changes to an indoor setting) [Kirisaki(boy) regains consciousness mmm..hmmm....] Female "here" [tries to spoon feed the boy] Kirisaki:[wakes up alert, sees female]

"I don't need your pity!" [knocks away the spoon]

Female "but you have to eat, look at you, you're so fragile...that aside at least tell me what happened, did you get in a fight?"

[boy looks at her, then looks down sad, tears fill his eyes and drop, but he doesn't make a sound]

Female " do you want to learn how to defend yourself?"

[boy looks at her, this time attentively}

Female: "I see, so you do, that's good you're going to need it if you are to survive in this world"

(Scene changes to a training room)[a boy and girl are exchanging blows with wooden swords]

Female" No not like that you're holding the sword wrong....No you're too far away, you can't hit your enemy like that....your attacks are too straight, too easy to predict, do it faster [hours go on with no progress] you really are hopeless"

Boy (defiantly) "No! I can keep going"

(Scene changes) [a boy about age 12 is seen sneaking around a tavern, he slowly walks towards a table where a young man sits with a young woman (white complexion blonde hair), snatches some bread and quickly makes his way out the door]

young man "HEY! [rushes out the door after the boy just before his female partner could stop him] GET BACK HERE [he catches up with the boy only to be kicked in the gut] AGH THAT HURT [just then a woman walks into view and the boy runs to her clutching her waist] your BOY just kicked me in the gut"

Female "I'm really sorry hes an orphan and is currently looking over some younger kids [3 little kids come into view from behind the woman]

young female *catches up* "he's got some guts doesn't he Ren" Ren "yeah he does he could be good for our group, well whatever" (scene ends)

"mom....dad....serena...the kids....Tim...."

"I can't lay here, I can't get captured here... [remembers serena's words "you're going to need it to survive in this world" remembers the girl's words "he's got some guts doesn't he Ren?]...that's right"

silhouette "I see you've remembered" [silhouette fades away]

Kirisaki: "wait, who are you?"

((just cause kh has a lot of these moments))

The figure nodded to himself, turning passive. He hadn't paid much attention to the confused boy anyway. He breathed deeply. His memory, that would be returned to him in only a moment. That'd be good right? Memories were something everybody needed. They helped dictate your actions.

~~~~~~~~
Lyon looked over to Shougo. "Alyssa's over there, shopping." Lyon gestured over to where the head Enforcer was still browsing the goods of a closed shop. "And there are no others. We are all we need. Unless Kirito is going to tag along again. Haven't seen him since he left after the mission." Lyon said. She wandered around the district a little, trying to find any remnants of darkness that had been used here.
Ren ran over to the fallen man, killing the soldiers. He recognized the body. "Daiche." He said, picking him up. "Let's go."
Horizon:
Horizon gave a glance to Shougo, "I am perfectly fine. We have what we need. If our superior would simply stop shopping for new shoes long enough that we can be done with this world, that would be greatly appreciated." Horizon replied, a small tinge of anger poking through his words. He knew why Alyssa had bothered to come. She had some thought the Horizon was, of all things, courting Lyon. Why else would she bother snooping, especially like this?
Ausar:
Ausar seemingly worked, looking as if he was writing down formulas and equations. In actuality, that was a farce. He knew exactly what to do. No need for recipes and guides on how to replace memories. Ausar smirked and eventually looked at the person, "Alright. Well, you're going to sleep. Once you wake up...everything should be fine."
Knocking out yet another Enforcer, I realize reinforcements have stopped coming in. There's less than a dozen left- we could easily finish them now!
Performing Sliding Dash, I crash into one of them with enough force to drop them. I Guard another's attack and trip them, hitting them on the head with the hilt of my Keyblade. Another comes up behind me, but they're so loud I Dodge Roll out of the way and shoot a burst of Fire to take them down.
Now there's only five left. Doing all of that was tiring, so I perform a Guard and look to the others, "Nova! Severa! Ren! There's only five left- finish 'em off!"
...maybe the owner of the shop died. Perhaps they lived in a flat above the store, locked up shop, and went to bed only to die in their sleep. Unfortunate, but nevertheless I will obtain that belt someday.
Presently, the Council is urging me to take the group to the...at Wonderland. My companions appear to be talking amongst themselves...with any luck one of them may be tracking down the...it would feel like cheating if I just told them where to go, however.
"Now then, have any of you tracked the prisoners yet so we can take our leave, or have you perhaps sensed a different form of darkness on this world that you wish to extinguish?"
Something is definitely in the air...I cannot put my finger on it, but I know it does not belong to those...but rather something else entirely. Then again, our mission lies elsewhere so we can ignore it completely and hunt down the...at Wonderland instead.
Shougo:
"yes Wonderland...I was at Lotus Forest before I was given orders to come here, but right before I left I sensed a dark portal open, though I thought it could've been my mind playing tricks on me. Lyon looks like she's been following something, anything Lyon?"
The number of Enforcers had lessened, it was time to finish them all off. Nova performed a Sliding Dash at the last of them.
The last of the Enforcers finally fall- I sigh in relief at our good fortune. "Well, that's the last of them."
With the battle over, I round up the Enforcers that didn't die and fade to light, open up a Corridor of Darkness beneath them, and watch as the pile disappears- that should return them all to The Land of Departure.
That taken care of, I turn to the others. "And now this place is liberated from Enforcer control- great work everyone!"
Looking around, I notice someone new with Ren. "Hey Ren, who is that?" I examine the boy- I don't recall ever seeing him before.
Severa swung the blade casually, before tossing it back into the sheath. "Too easy." She said, taunting the enemy. Well, all the unconscious enemies. Severa pivoted and sauntered slowly over to Light, Ren, and new guy. He seemed pretty capable... but Severa wasn't too apt to trust him. He seemed to use two spears, from what she could tell. Severa wanted to conduct a little test, but she doubted Light, or even Ren would approve of her methods. 'Screw them, I need to be sure.' Severa rushed forward, and pinned the new guy to the ground. In an instant, her sword was out and by his throat. "Who are you and why are you here? Also, I swear, f you are an Enforcer spy, I will cut you into tiny bits and eat you, cooked a dozen ways. Also, I can tell if you're lying, so be honest." Severa threatened him. She was on top of him, to the point that her hair was in his face. The bit about being able to tell if he was lying was a bluff, but hopefully he'd be too scared to realize it.
~~~~~~~~Lyon's eyes shifted to Shougo. "Hm? Oh no, I haven't found anything, but I've been looking. Though, if you know for sure that they're in Wonderland, then we should make our way there immediately. No telling what kind of damage they'd have already done." Lyon said, opening her palm, and channeling light through it. A portal of light opened, it's destination Wonderland. Lyon gestured to Alyssa. "Ranking officer first of course" She said.

~~~~~~~~~
"Whatever." The soldier said passively. Getting impatient, he grabbed the syringe himself, and plunged it into his arm. Instantaneously, he began to feel the effects. He yawned. Drowsiness was setting in. He lay prone on the table, and waited for sleep to come. He didn't have to wait long. As his eyes began to close, something triggered inside him. 'I'm... a... Rebel!' This revelation came a tad too late though. Already, his eyes were closed, and soon complete unconsciousness.
Before I can say anything- Severa is on top of the new guy! "S-Severa!" She has her blade honed in on him, I try to think of a protest but honestly I have no clue who he is. Still, the less bloodshed the better. "New guy- you should probably answer her, and quick!"
<3________________________________________________________________________________________________<3
[side: Alyssa]
"Of course." Well they figured it out, gold stars for everyone! ...Now that I think about it, who came up with the concept of gold stars? Perhaps we should make that an actual reward for the soldiers...who would not love to recieve a gold star?
The colors here in Wonderland are so...the darkness, it is very strong. Almost as if it is in this room...but there are only two tables housing lit candles, while the walls are decorated with all sorts of nonsense, and the ceiling...there they are.
"Captain Umzaki, Captain Fallo: your targets are up there on the ceiling...do take care of it."
What an odd place for them to be.
Daichie:
*Daichie, Lets go*
I slowly come about and I realize I'm looking at the floor, bobbing up and down *someones carrying me* I look to my right to see a man dark hair, some gray *who is that?* the man finally realizes I'm conscious and sets me down, I stand up and survey my surroundings, a girl, blonde, is making her way over to me.
I look around again and see that the enforcers are gone *the battle's over*. I look back again only to see another girl dashing towards to me and next thing I know I'm pinned.
The girl said "Who are you and why are you here? Also, I swear, if you are an Enforcer spy, I will cut you into tiny bits and eat you, cooked a dozen ways. Also, I can tell if you're lying, so be honest."
My first thought, *God she's beautiful, wait really that was your first thought?!* I finally get some words out, "My name's Daichie, I was thrown into a portal by a man, white hair and white robe, next thing I know I ended up here, and no I'm not an Enforcer spy...also you're on top of me".
Edited by Kumori-kun
Severa jumped off him, and turned away. Her cheeks had turned a little pink from the revelation of the implications of being on top of him were. "You're... uh... you're good. No common Enforcer would've been able to not flinch when I did that." Severa said, stuttering a slight bit in the beginning. Her eyes shifted to the ceiling upon spotting some motion out of the corner of her eyes. "Crap! The Captains found us! Scatter!" Severa dove through a dark corridor, which closed behind her. She hated abandoning the others, but all of them splitting up would be the only way to get them off their tracks. Hopefully, Ren and Light would each open corridors and take one each of the Rebels that couldn't open corridors themselves.
~~~~~~~

Lyon went through the corridor, and upon hearing Alyssa's instruction, scanned the ceiling. Indeed, there were the Rebels on the ceiling, among a field of Enforcer bodies. Lyon acted quickly, and casted a gravity spell on the floor, changing their orientation to the ceiling. Lyon touched down, and summoned Redemption. "Surrender now, or we're going to have a problem." She commanded. Of course, she doubted that they would comply, but it was worth a shot.

Up on the ceiling are Enforcers, the ones we had encountered before! Severa runs through a Corridor of Darkness on her own, making me realize we should split up as well- smart!

"Ren! Take Daiche with you- I'll take Harumi and Nova!" Grabbing the two of them by the arms, I pull them with me through the Corridor I open- closing it behind me once we're all through.

Hopefully Ren and Daiche will get out safely, but for now I have to focus on getting the three of us out of here.

"Harumi, Nova- let's follow this out, it should take us to Dwarf Woodlands," I take the lead with the two of them following behind, "I hope you two don't mind, I have some business there so if the two of you want to hang back while I take care of my things that's fine by me."

If we are splitting up, I might as well try to liberate another world in order to drop the heat off the others.

Oh no...all of them are getting away. No wait...two remain, but for how long?

Now it is time to see what these Enforcers are truly capable of...I wonder if we have lost Wonderland?

Ren ran with Daiche, with hood on. He had if on most of the time. He was disappointed both that they failed, and that they would come back....

((Woo I finished my finals))

Shougo:

About to go through the portal when my stomach rumbled "hmm..I should get some food first" *I'll let Alyssa's group handle this*

Daichie:

"Ren what are we going to do?"

(I will be posting soon, no one worry. Just some issues in my life have arisen and I need to take care of them before I can return to roleplaying. I apologize, and i hope to make a reply here soon.)

((Hey no rush! If you're dealing with issues in your life that comes first and foremost, you take your time and reply when you're ready. I hope you're okay and that you can take care of everything :) ))

Lyon muttered a curse under her breath, and had to decided where to go, and quick. She chose to follow the one who was swallowed in darkness. Ren his name was she thought. Lyon went through another light portal, and popped out in front of Ren and Daichie. "Now, surrender or fight. I will not tolerate running a second time." Lyon's voice was serious. These Rebels had to be taught, harshly if necessary. Lyon pointed Redemption at them, and it glowed with a soft light.

Ren did not have time for this. He darted to the left, and created a stalling barrier.

Horizon:

Horizon had followed behind Lyon and shuffled through their own Corridor. Once again, the Rebels had gone and made a mess. A large fight had broken out and forces on both sides were scattered, people running everywhere. Already Alyssa, Lyon, and the other Enforcer had gone off, leaving Horizon alone. The Captain would certainly aid Lyon later, due to finding someone else.

"Harumi." Horizon said, "I see you have found yourself with this group."

Harumi:

What the heck is happening? Was all Harumi could think. Things had gone from bad to worse, escalating quicker than the ex-Enforcer could comprehend. She growled, unleashing her dark Katana as she swept around, looking for someone to fight. Until she heard  his  voice.

"Damn." She whispered, turning around. Of all people, the one to face here was Horizon Fallo. "None of your business." She spat, raising her sword, "You're just like the rest! Blindly following this! Do you even know what's going on?!"

Ausar:

Ausar sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. He hated when his subjects fainted like this. "No matter." He muttered, "I will fix this. Fix up the memories and send him out to deal with the others....maybe....something extra too. A failsafe for when I need it."

Oh? It would appear Horizon has confronted that former Enforcer, Harumi. She's the turncoat that the Council refused to shut up about some days ago. Why would she leave the Enforcers to begin with?

Ask and you shall receive...she is either bluffing or she actually knows something and is about to reveal it to Horizon.

"Do not allow yourself to be distracted by your target, Captain Fallo. Carry out your execution."

With any luck he will listen to me, but for all I know the secret she may possess could merely regard one of our side projects...surely she would have no idea about...

Daichie:

We need to separate her from the rest if we want to take her on. Open a portal, I'll stall and try to throw her in. I don't know about harumi though.
