False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

(Josh, delete that post please. I was intending for that to happen a little later, not as soon as he gets his memories switched. Second of all, you literally just left Lyon hanging, and stepped out of the barrier she created.Just be patient, and let the characters develop at their makers pace please.)

(Darn I was too late to see the BIG POST) :(

(Sorry for being so stern, I was just a little tired, and thought that a big post like that should only be posted after both rpers effected have given the okay. I know I said you could, but I didn't say when, so if you'll refrain from something like that again, I'd appreciate it.)

Lyon parried the strike easily. Her opponent was distracted. Lyon followed his gaze, quickly realizing that her plaything was here. She smiled ever so slightly. She unleashed a wave of light that wouldn't do any damage, just push her opponent back a little. Lyon held Redemption by her side easily, her left hand glowing with a soft light. "You know you cannot defeat all of us. Why even try?" She asked innocently. There really was no need for any more fighting, especially since Enno was here now. She doubted that her words would have any effect on this servant of darkness, but she had to try.

Daichie:

Behind bars-"hey let me out!---jeez how did I end up here?"

Thinking back---

Stumbling out of the portal "how in the wor-" notices a large crowd of enforcers staring at him.

"This is not what it looks like" all of them summon their keyboard "guys really this is n--"

Daichie: "what do you want"

(I saw the big post- muahahahaha xD)

"I try-" Ren said, dodging all the strikes. "Because I believe in the balance." He parried and struck vertically, then going into a strike combo. "I don't think you would get it… your side killed my father for believing in it, so why start now?"

Balance? What kind of nonsense was this boy speaking? Darkness was in essence evil, and light was nothing but good. Balance was a ridiculous concept. Nevertheless, those words stunned her long enough for the strikes to take effect on her. She staggered backwards, then launched back into her assault. She swung down, then summoned an explosive of light, that dropped down at their feet. It blew up, but Lyon was prepared for the blow. She summoned a shield of light that absorbed the blast of the same element. Dissolving the barrier, she scanned through the smoke to see the Rebel.

Ren had taken some of the hits, but still he preservers. "Also…" Ren said. "When you took him away from us…" Darkess oozes in, casing him in what seems to be dark armor. "I made it my personal duty to kill you!"

The insolent Rebel had gone from philosophical talks about balance, to a simplistic thirst for vengeance. Lyon almost sighed. All of these Rebels were the same, simplistic, looking for an excuse to commit crimes. Lyon took a step back from Ren to give her some space to launch a new attack. The Rebel had summoned a suit of armor of darkness. Realizing that to combat this move, Lyon needed to use light drive. So she summoned her own armor, and felt her own light burn brighter than ever before. She launched into another attack combo, flowing easily from horizontal slice, to down ward jump slash, to a quick spin, all leading up to a dramatic lunge.

Ren dodged the slice, and reached out to grab Lyons face, to slam into the floor. "You are too weak!" He screamed. "Your light blinds you!" The voice was not his.... Dark... And malevolent...

Lyon disappeared from his grasp, vanishing into light. She reappeared behind him, and stabbed forward. "The same could be said of your darkness." Lyon retorted. It was true. The boy was falling back into his darkness. Was this not the one who so firmly believed in balance but a moment before? Lyon stepped back, giving them some more space. Close combat was good, but sometimes it became to chaotic, and the opponent was able to take advantage. Lyon couldn't help but think that this rebel was a ticking bomb, and when the darkness took full control, the destruction may be devastating. That meant Lyon needed to disarm this bomb, and quick.

~~~~~~~
Enno glanced around the battlefield. There were a lot of defeated rebels, and many Enforcers about as well. He then spotted one of them. A young girl. Still standing, and was also not engaged with anybody. In a flash, Enno was next Light, his blade unsheathed, and raised. His black cloak was fluttering about his feet, and the black hood concealed his face from any who might be looking at him. "Rebel. Raise your blade and fight or I'll strike you down without hesitation." Enno spoke clearly and directly, leaving no room for misinterpretation. She would have to fight for her life if she wanted to keep it.
"Tis true..." Ren said, blocking the thrust, and preparing a slice with A second blade. He noticed Lyons hesitation towards frontal combat,and got closer with every strike.
Lyon parried away each strike. He was backing her into the same barrier she had created before. She continued to counter the strikes, but they were coming so fast, mounting a counter strike seemed impossible. She thought about her options. The wall! It was an easy enough trick. Instead of parrying, Lyon jumped over the next slash, and kicked off the wall. She landed behind the Rebel, and sent a shockwave of light through the ground when she landed. Lyon struck out with her keyblade as well, hoping to push him into the same situation she had just been in.
(isn't light at some other world?)
Horizon:
Things were rapidly deteriorating for the Rebels. Lyon was doing a noble job of keeping her ground and fighting one of them, and even a new Enforcer had joined the fray. Horizon didn't recognize him, even though this new Enforcer held a rank high enough to catch the Captain's attention. Must be a member of one of the Covert Squads, Horizon presumed, shaking his head.
"I guess I'll just wait here." Horizon murmured, seeing as for the moment, no battle had reached him yet. Harumi was done for, likely not to get up...or even survive.
Harumi:
Harumi was nearly done for. She was bleeding heavily from the wound Horizon had inflicted. Her vision was swimming and all she could feel was the screaming pain. How could she have even thought of beating Horizon? It was impossible. And this was proof. He beat her in one blow. One blow! Sure, it was a powerful move, but Harumi thought that she could at last dodge it.
"I...I can't.." She whispered, her voice coming out as mere rasps. I can't die here..
Ren predicted lyons move after he blocked the strikes, stepping to the side to dodge the oncoming attack, with one arm at the ready to pull her down, with a powerful slam, if he was lucky.
The battle is growing more and more chaotic. Seeing Harumi, I Dodge Roll over to and pick her up. Putting some distance between us and Horizon, I put her down and cast Cure to help mend her wounds.
I take a defensive stance with my Keyblade- I won't initiate a fight with the newcomer, but I will defend my friends and myself.
Horizon:
So it seemed Harumi  had been whisked away; by the leader of this Rebel band no less. The same one Horizon had fought earlier, and at the time he had left her alive. Perhaps, in retrospect, that was a poor choice. But there was no point in regretting the past. Horizon picked up his Keyblade, and turned to this girl.
"This war is nearly over. Do you not see this?" Horizon said, "Your group is losing." He stepped forward, giving her a hardened look. No doubt she would say something inspirational, something hopeful to back up her side.
Harumi:
"Unh..?" Harumi mumbled, opening one eye. The pain had lessened; now just a sore throb that caused her side to ache. But she was alive, at least. Her savior was standing over her, and though she could only see the person's shadow, she could tell whom it was.
"Thanks...Light." Harumi whispered, looking to where Light was staring at. Horizon. Harumi chuckled, looking up to Light.
"Light? Show that rokudenashi  some proper ass-kicking."
Horizon has focused his attention on me as well- it looks like I'll have to contend with both him and the newcomer simultaneously.
Just as I'm about to say something, Harumi speaks up. I turn around to face her and give a smile. "You're welcome- I'll do my best."
Focusing again on Horizon and the newcomer, I ready myself. "So long as the worlds are trapped under tyranny, I will fight to liberate them Horizon. We have no right to force our rules upon them- they should be governed by their own people, with us intervening only to protect them from the creatures of Darkness."
I really wonder if that shop is open now...oh the Council is calling. It would appear...well that is odd.
"Captain Fallo finish this up quickly, I must be off. Emerge victorious here and it could mean a promotion."
If this is not according to the plan thought up by the Council, I cannot help but wonder who is behind it...
Clenching his fist, the man drives it into the gut of an Enforcer- sending the soldier crashing into a wall.
Satisfied with his work, the man cracks his knuckles and smirks. "What's the point in wearing all that armor if it can't even withstand a person's fist?" He muses this question cockily, but his opponent is no longer capable of answering. "...Humph, we'll that's another world down."
The destruction and carnage surrounding the man makes it evident this was a rather one-sided battle. Sighing, he begins stretching as if he only just completed a workout.
"First Port Royal, now Agrabah- both of them were a breeze. Heck, I don't think either of them even had a Colonel stationed on site."
Finished with his exercises, the man takes one last look around before leaving the palace. Once outside, he raises a hand to block out the burning sun. Down below in the courtyard citizens begin assembling, looking up at him.
"...This world belongs to you again! Take back your palace, and govern yourselves once more!!" His words cause the crowd to begin cheering, upon hearing the cheers he can't help but smile. He'd love to stick around and help out, but his work was only just beginning. He had to move on to another world and keep it up.
"Where to next? ...I suppose the most efficient way to go about things from here on out would be to visit the next closest world, huh?" Extending his left hand forward, a Corridor of Light opens- the man stepping through it and leaving Agrabah behind.
Horizon:
"And yet you rule by darkness. Although light casts dark shadows, darkness itself does not help either. I see many of your companions use darkness as an essential tool...and I know well enough the darkness can corrupt and destroy one's heart." Horizon replied, "I am not hear to fight over ideals. I keep my own opinions to myself. I am here to fight, because I was not only directed to, but because I deem this nuisance must be eradicated."
Horizon aimed his weapon at Light, beckoning her to make the first move.
"I look to rule nothing- the denizens of each world are the only ones with the right to govern their home worlds. Darkness can indeed corrupt and destroy a person's heart if the person in question is too weak or foolish to handle it, but such is not the case with me. I respect the strength of Darkness, and know that it cannot be controlled or silenced- it cannot overpower me nor I it."
I continue my defensive stance, I will not fight until I absolutely have to.
Horizon:
"Perhaps so...you are certainly not as naive as you may seem." Horizon murmured, "As much as I would like to have an argument...unfortunately this fight must happen. If I am not the one to fight you, they will send warriors who dwarf my abilities in comparison."
Horizon walked closer to Light, readying his blade. Light's words did resound in his mind, as her stance held better than his did. However, he was trained to not think on these things. It dulled the blade, and distracted him from his orders. And orders were absolute.
With a flash he clashed against Light, their two blades clanging against one anothers.
While focused on Horizon, I can't help but notice Alyssa departing through a Corridor of Light. Why would she leave in the middle of a fight?
In this brief moment of pondering, Horizon is upon me- it takes my all just to block his attack! Our blades locked, I push against his and manage to propel myself back a few feet, repeating my defensive stance with Guard.
If Horizon and his group intercept us at every world we try to liberate, it's gonna take us a very long time to free each of the worlds.
Lyon stepped sideways, avoiding the desperate grab at her. The Rebel was getting sloppy, but also stronger, as if being controlled by something that wasn't completely familiar with the body. The darkness... it did make sense. What she needed to do was launch as much light as possible now, enough to hopefully knock her opponent out of commission. She jumped backwards, and summoned light to her keyblade. She threw Redemption at Ren, and with the light-charged keyblade came more balls of light, headed straight toward her opponent. Now with her hands open, she closed her eyes, and focused, casting one of the ultimate light spells in known existence. Her eyes flashed open, glowing gold, and Lyon called out, "Holy!" A huge pillar of light came crashing down to where the rebel was standing. It spun, the energy still pouring into it's victim. Finally, the pillar exploded violently. As sight was returned, Lyon was on the ground, light armor gone, keyblade back in her hand. She took a deep breath. She doubted she could do much more after that.
As the smoke cleared, Ren was slowly getting back up. "Your..." He coughed. "You're good..." He had little to no energy left.
