False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

On my way to Ren, I turn around after hearing something behind me and barely block an Enforcer's Keyblade with my own! His attack deflected, he steps back and jumps into the air- performing Blizzard Edge no doubt! I sidestep him, now out of his range, and bring the hilt of my Keyblade down on the Enforcer's head as his attack hits the air.

The blow from my attack taking effect, the Enforcer collapses to the ground.

With that done, I continue after Ren.

When I finally catch up to him, however, he's faring fairly well- except for the fact that there are two Enforcers overhead aiming their Keyblades right at him!

I jump up into the air, using Strike Raid to throw my Keyblade in their direction- successfully knocking both of them upside the head!

They disappear from view, so I can't tell if they're unconscious or just down for a few seconds- either way though, the immediate threat to Ren is no more.

"Thanks." Ren said. "I need to learn the move afterimage... That would have been useful..."

Severa slapped Ryonne in the face. "Get the hell up! We're beating some people up and need you! Gosh, why do I even bother sometimes." Severa yelled at the passed out swordsman. Ryonne stirred in his slumber. His eyes blinked open, and he glared at Severa.

"You realize that there are kinder ways to awake me than a slap and some yelling." Ryonne said irritably, standing. He grabbed his sword that was near him. He unsheathed it quickly, before putting it back in. "Anyway, where are we, and how did I get here." Ryonne asked Severa.

"Well, Light found you and Horizon both unconscious, brought you to Radiant Garden, and now we're all here, in Port Royal." Severa explained briefly. She tossed him a pirate cloak. "Here put this on. I chose it for you. Fits you well."

"Thanks." Ryonne muttered, buttoning up the disguise.

"And how do I look?" Severa asked him, twirling around. She had on her own pirate dress. Ryonne considered her for a moment, before replying.

"Normal."

"Do I need to slap you again Ryonne Mors?" Severa yelled at him crossly. Ryonne chuckled.

"You look fine. Now, were we supposed to be getting somewhere?" Ryonne said. Both of them made their way to the Enforcer encampment. In a flash, Ryonne was on the ground, and slicing away at enemies. Severa followed up a blast of darkness at a guy behind Ryonne. The girl jumped down, and stabbed another Enforcer.

"I got your back." She whisered to him. Ryonne nodded curtly.

"Wake up Horizon." A sharp voice called. Lyon stepped up next to the unconscious captain. "I said wake up. Unless you're too tired to defend Port Royal from the rebels you let go." Lyon's voice was sharp and cross. That wasn't normally her nature, but command had called for it. And the situation. From the reports, the Rebels were beating the tar out of one of the encampments there. And Horizon had let them go. It was unheard of that Captain Fallo lose to well, anyone.

"That would be an awesome technique to have!" I agree, but only moments before another Enforcer appears to my right!

I don't know what technique she's about to use, but I Dodge Roll behind her, spin around and slam my Keyblade against her side with just enough force to bring her down!

Yet another Enforcer down for the count, and not a single mortal wound against them!

Looking behind me, I notice Harumi is gone, with just Nova remaining at our original position. My guess is she's infiltrated the place already!

With the outside forces no more thanks to Ren and I, I tighten the grip around the handle of my Keyblade and head inside the rampart.

"I'm surprised that you left the enforcer alive." Came a gruff voice from just inside the rampart.

A.J. stepped out the shadows.

"They wouldn't give you the same chance."

He waved a hand for Ren and Light to get inside quick.

"Probably should do as he says..." He backs up, battle stance at the ready.

Heeding A.J. and Ren, I hurry inside.

When I fully take in what A.J. has said, I tell him as I briefly pass him, "If we both fought using the same methods, what would make us different?" But I don't know if he heard me.

Entering the ramparts, I notice Ryonne and Severa!

"Heeey! Be careful you two!" I call out to them. I want to say more, and would comment on Ryonne's recovery, but the appearance of more Enforcers prevents me from doing so.

Faced with three now, they all charge at me simultaneously! I Dodge Roll out of the way, barely avoiding them, only to land on my feet and be greeted by a Sliding Dash!

The strike hurdles me some yards before I land on my back. I unfortunately can't afford to just lay there, as one of them leaps above me performing Quick Blitz!

I propel my body out of the way in the nick of time- but the attack's impact sends me rolling across the coarse ground.

Pretty sure I didn't come out of that unscathed, I'm able to use my momentum to get back on my feet, but find myself running away now from one of the Enforcers who's casting consecutive Fire spells at me!

In my mad dash, I can vaguely hear something to my left and instinctively perform a Dodge Roll- good thing too, as the Sliding Dash-spamming Enforcer flies right behind me, missing his mark.

With too many things going on too fast, and my having to continue running away from bursts of flames, I'm able to piece together one Enforcer is trying to get me with Sliding Dash, while another is using Fire; that leaves one of them unaccounted for!

Wherever that one is makes little difference right now- so long as they stay out of my way. My focus should be on the two who are- I'm blindsided by another Sliding Dash!

Tumbling across the ground, either my vision has gone bad due to all the damage I've taken and I'm seeing doubles, or two of the three Enforcers are in fact performing Sliding Dash.

I eventually skid to a halt, managing to raise myself back into a standing position. At this rate I'll be down for the count in no time- I have to put an end to this and help the others!

The one Enforcer has stopped casting Fire- I guess it can't reach all the way over here; thank goodness. The other two Enforcers are sliding their way towards me though, one slightly ahead of the other.

From what I know about the technique, the person performing it cannot stop the dash until it has run its course or they run into something. Hoping my information is accurate, I start running towards the one closest to reaching me.

With only a few yards between us, he seems sure that his next dash will send him right into me- which it will if my timing's wrong. He uses Sliding Dash once more to close the distance! He's merely seconds away from me- I stop charging towards him and jump to the left.

With my right hand, I just manage to grab onto his jacket, use his and my momentum together to do a one-eighty, and send him colliding into the other sliding Enforcer!

They viciously collide into one another, both dropping to the ground unconscious.

Their comrade is waiting for me to get back into the range of her Fire spells- I casually walk towards her until she begins casting her magic again; my response being a Strike Raid that sends my Keyblade against the side of her head, knocking her out as well.

Despite being behind enemy lines, as soon as I catch my Keyblade again I fall to my knees- as I try to catch my breath. That was intense- I've never been in a situation like that before...I just- I...I would sigh in relief if I had the breath to do it...

Ren saw Light at the verge of collapse. He dashed towards her in an attempt to stop a hidden enforcer from stabbing her in the back. He threw a blade when in range when he felt the cold steel of a keyblade go through his back. One of the enforcers was not as unconscious as thought. "ARRHHGH!" He screamed, as the blade cut deep into his back. It seemed like some more enforcers had heard that. One fired fire at him from his left, a powerful blast that sent him flying.

Daniel wanders around, Shadowblade in hand, looking around his surroundings. He's tired, and he could've sworn he had a bad feeling a while back. He knows some Enforcers are around so he tries to blend in with the darkness. He scowls. "Damn it... Ren... Light... Where are you?"

Harumi grumbled, continuing to make her way through and past the ramparts. There was a lot of Enforcers--more than she had originally expected. With one swipe of her Katana she fired a thin dark blast that swept over the opponents she faced. The Enforcer's fell with little issue. Thankfully, none of them recognized Harumi. "Just gotta continue and make my way through..."

~

Horizon opened his eyes, blinking a few times as he attempted to register who was trying to wake him. Horizon knew the face. Lyon. Well, that's all Horizon knew of the other, beyond the fact that both of them were Enforcers of similar rank. Horizon got up, expecting sharp pain. He blinked again, realizing his wounds had been healed. "I had fought a Rebel of my level. I succeeded in defeating him, but he used a cheap move to incapacitate me. It seems they are more foolish as well: one of them healed me."

"Hmm..." Daniel hums as he stops for a moment and scans the area again, dissummoning his Shadowblade. He guesses that the feeling was all in his head and that he was just pushing himself too hard. He stops hustling and decides to walk since there wasn't any known danger around. But he can't help but feel like something wasn't right once more. BUt after all, it WAS just a tiny feeling. No harm at all to shrug it off, right?

I hear something behind me, so spin around only to see an Enforcer fall to the ground.

Getting up, I see Ren go flying past me, as one Enforcer stands with blood on their Keyblade and another casts Fire.

Taking a breath, I charge at the Enforcer with the bloody blade, swinging my own at his head only to have it deflected! Our Keyblades locked, I use the strength available to me as best I can and push the Enforcer back. Charging again, I go to swing my Keyblade- then knee him in the gut!

As he falls, the other Enforcer does not hesitate to cast Fire at me despite the fact it could very well hit the newly fallen Enforcer! Drawing my Keyblade, I strike at the cast of Fire at the last possible second and send it hurdling into a wall, then I perform yet another Strike Raid to knock that Enforcer down- it's the only real fighting ability I know how to do so far. The fact I was able to do any of that must've been thanks to adrenaline alone.

With them gone, I turn my attention back to Ren- who's bleeding on the ground!

"Ren? REN!" I call out, running over to him.

When I reach his side, I cast Cure, then shake him. "Ren? Ren? Ren!"

Ren struggles to wake up "Are...you...okay?" He says to light.

Daniel continues his walk until he spots Ren and Light, eyes widening at the scene, and he runs up to the two, gasping. "Ren! Light!" As he approaches the two, he yelps at the scene in front of him, astonished. "Ren... Are you okay?!"

(He walked into a different world? Lol)

He saw her face... good... She was fine... He on the other hand, was a mess. "Heh... My suits ripped...and you said it looked good too... Damn..."

(MY CHARACTER IS AWESOME LIKE DAT xD)

(And lightchaser told me she brought Daniel with u guys so i was all like oookkkkaaaayyy xD)

A.J. summoned his Keyblade and helped Light fight the Enforcers, though he stayed a little back to gage the girl's battle skill. He silently cursed himself when he saw Ren take a hit. He stepped over to Ren and squatted to get a better look.

"Don't worry." A.J. told Ren as he pushed his hat back on his head. "Still plenty of good tailors around to fix you up."

He pulled a Potion from his duster's pocket and offered it to Light.

"Try this. It should finish getting your friend back on his feet without knocking you off yours."

  • Author

"I'm fine, thanks to you. And we'll buy you a new suit after this is over," I say to him reassuringly, glad that he's talking.

A.J. comes over and joins us- handing me a Potion, I nod to him. "Thank you."

Turning back to Ren, I hold his head up and have him gulp the Potion down. Once it's empty, I slowly lower his head back down to the ground. "You're gonna be fine- we're coming out of this, and we're gonna see all kinds of new worlds! It's going to be great Ren- this is just the beginning!"

Edited by LightChaser

"You...you mean it...?" He said weakly. "That would be....so great..." He smiled. He slowly got up, and walked.

((Sorry I couldn't get on I had school. Can someone fill me in?))

Nova walked up to the group out off breath. "Sorry I'm late, a few Enforcers got me back there."

  • Author

I'm glad to see that Ren has the strength to get up and walk, but I don't know where he could be walking to.

"R-Ren? You should wait here, there are probably more Enforcers holed up deeper into the ramparts," I suggest, turning back to see Nova arrive.

((We're fighting Enforcers, Ren got stabbed because of me... >.>))

Harumi whacked an Enforcer upside the head with the butt of her sheathe, smirking as the man collapsed. Eventually she made her way back to Ren, Light, and Nova. "Well...uh...what happened to Ren?" Harumi asked, looking at him. "Is he okay?" Harumi looked at Light expectantly, as if she would have the answer.

"I'm fine..." Ren said. "So don't worry..." He walked, and took a right from the ramparts. "I'm going to rent a-" he coughed. "A hotel.."

  • Author

"I, I think it's called an Inn, or a Tavern!" I call after him, "Don't use the wrong jargon- you'll draw suspicion!"

Conflicted on what to do, I want to follow him, but also need to make sure all the Enforcers are down so they won't call for reinforcements.

Thankfully Harumi showed up, so maybe she already took care of the rest of the Enforcers deeper in the ramparts.

"Ren...he got hurt, because of me..." is all I can manage in an effort to answer her question, as my mind races, "Harumi, have we taken care of all the Enforcers? Are they all down?"

If we just leave and follow Ren, we'll draw the Enforcers to him if there are any left.
