So what is up with all of these endings with reconnect in it. Also if sora is the hero of the story shouldnt he be the person to reconnect people toqether and touch peoples hearts. If so he should be able to wake up ventus and get terra back. just a thought.

Yeah . The "Reconnect" message that shows up in some endings is something like that. It means that "the pieces will be collected" and it might mean that this game will lead to the clash of the 13 darknesses and the 7 lights to forge the X-blade.

I think it just means connected to the next story.

It shows a connection between all the previous games came to one and it will leads to the next series,or should i say the final one.Indeed,Sora was the hero and should save those people such as Terra and Ventus that you speak of,but you gotta know that Sora didn't know about them,nor if he ever meet them yet.So yeah,he has to take a step one by one... 

Remember that KH2 sentence "connect the pieces between me and you" or something like that? Well it just means...
