Please note: Pokemon, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and the Pokemon themselves are all owned by Nintendo, Pokemon Co., Game Freak, and Chun Soft. All locations, characters, and stories are all owned by me. This story is non-canonical to the PMD universe. This story refers to Pokemon as if they age as a human does. Humans are not referenced in this PMD fanfic. Please enjoy!

Prologue

Well...today I turn 29. Man, time sure flies. It only felt like yesterday that my best friend and I were saving the world...nowadays, those times are over. However, it never hurts to tell how it all happened, right? Right. So first, introductions. Hi, I'm Jaws, a Feraligatr. I'm pretty big, but I'm not scary like everyone says. In fact, I'm just a big softie...more of a hugger, really. I now realize that I shouldn't say too much about myself. For now, here's my entire life...starting from the very beginning!

0-3 years old

I don't really remember this time period all that well, but I guess that's normal, right? I guess I'll have to go off of what my parents told me. I was born a young, healthy Totodile, in a harbor town known as 'Nautica Town'. It was a pretty big town, with plenty of ports, facilities, and of course, places to live. My mother and father, at the time, had somewhat slow jobs. My father worked at the ports, hauling stuff in and out of boats. My mother worked as a member of an exploration team. As a result of their jobs, I was usually under the care of someone else, usually the Day Care. It had a good atmosphere there, but I wasn't fond of it. Little did I know that I was going to meet some other Pokemon there...Pokemon that would change my life.

4 years old

This was a time when I REALLY started remembering things. However, not too much of importance ever happened...except for one thing. My mother dropped me off at the Day Care as she left for work. My dad would've taken care of me, had he not usually had to work during the day. Anyways, I never really liked the Day Care, as I've mentioned before. The Pokemon who usually takes care of us, a Chansey, is always too busy talking to the parents, and nurturing the eggs. As a result, there's nobody to go to for things like bullying, which surprisingly happens a lot. It's usually the bigger kids picking on the little kids, and at my age, I was little. On this particular day, however, it was different. It started out normal. I was playing with a small toy in the corner, when a Makuhita came over.

"Hey kid," the Makuhita said, "give me that toy!" I looked at the Makuhita, already knowing what would happen. I want to stand up, but I never do. I just say what I always say. "But it's my toy," I said, looking up at him. "Well then, I guess I'll just have to...TAKE IT!" He shouted, as he grabbed my toy, and started pulling on it. I instinctively pulled back, even knowing it's a fight I'd probably lose. That's when that 'something different' came into effect.

"You there! Leave him alone!" A voice sounded from nearby. "Yeah! You should pick on someone your own size," said another voice. Then both of us looked over, seeing a Treecko and a Pancham, respectively. The Makuhita stared at the two, looked back at me, then back at the two before saying, "Feh...none of you are worth my time, anyways!" He said, letting go of the toy, and marching off. After watching him leave, I drew my gaze back at the two, who came closer to me to speak.

"Hey there, you alright? He didn't hurt you, did he?" The Treecko said, looking at me for any injuries. "I'm fine," I said, "but more importantly, why did you two come help me?" I asked. It was a legitimate question, seeing as how no one ever does if someone comes picking on me like that. "Because bullying is wrong, duh!" The Pancham said in a cheerful tone, "What? Did you NOT want saving?"

"O-of course I wanted saving...it's just that barely anyone does..." I said, in a depressing tone, which is usually not normal for a Totodile, but I wasn't normal. "Well we're that 'barely anyone', I guess you could say," the Treecko said in a serious manner. "Now, what's your name? Mine is Shoku!" He said, with the Pancham soon following with, "I'm Senchi!" I looked up at the two, thinking their names as strange, but I was never one to judge. "My name is Jaws...and, also...thanks for helping me."

"No problem," Senchi started, "Now, let's do what we do best...play!" And then we did just that...play. I was never so happy in my entire life. We played all sorts of games. It felt like hours have passed...well, actually, they did. Eventually, my parents came to pick me up.

"Well guys, I gotta go," I said, "do you think we could play together again?" I looked at them, hoping for a response I'd be happy with. Then they said something that I had mixed feelings towards... "Sure, as long as you live in Kibo!" The Treecko said in a cheerful manner. "Uh...Kibo? Never heard of it," I said, "does that mean that we won't see each other again?"

"I don't know...but hopefully we will in the future!" Senchi said in a happy manner. After hearing that line, my parents took me home. I started wondering if I would ever see them again, but day after day of going to the Day Care, they never showed up. I was becoming lonely. Nothing else important really happened for the next couple of years...until I was eight years old.

8 years old

It was getting to be near evening, and my parents were both home, talking to each other. I was off in my own little den, just thinking to myself. That's when they called for me. Instantly, with nothing better to do, I came to them, expecting usual good news like a 'raise' or whatever. Instead, I got life changing news. A couple bits of it, in fact. "We have a couple of things we've been talking about, your father and I," my mother started, "and we decided we should tell you immediately, instead of holding off." What my mother means by that is that there's been some tragic news before this, like a relative of mine dying. They didn't know how to break it to me at first without telling it to me straight. When I eventually did find out, it was horrifying, to say the least, but if they told me ahead of time, I could've been able to get over it.

"So the first thing," my father began, "is that...well...your mother's pregnant." This alone shocked me. I wasn't one to want that much, but a little sibling to take care of was one of the single things that I wanted. "You understand what this means, right Jaws?" My mother asked me. "Yes," I responded, "it means that I'm going to get a younger sibling." I started smiling. "So...how long will it take?" I asked. "Just about as long as it did for you," my father replied, "a year and six months." At this point, I was happy. REALLY happy. I couldn't get any happier. Then the next piece of news came.

"The second thing we need to go over with you before we discuss all this with you," my mother began, "is that your father got promoted to a higher state within his job. However, for this promotion to go through successfully, we need to move to somewhere else." This really didn't bother me too much. I was sick of everyone picking on me...all the kids that remembered me from Day Care still pick on me whenever they get the chance. I can finally get away from them. "Alright then...where to?" I asked. "It's a big big place across the sea called Kibo," my dad answered. Now, remember that at this point, it was 4 years ago when Senchi and Shoku told me about Kibo, so I've forgotten all about it. Of course, I still haven't forgotten about them. So this 'Kibo' place was all a mystery to me. At this point, my parents started talking to me about everything that would happen within the next year. We would move in a couple of months, and until my sibling is born, we would start getting everything ready for him. So far, this was the best moment of my life.

We eventually boarded the ship headed to Kibo. I stayed with my mom, while my dad went off to talk to some people regarding work or whatever. As boring as it was, the view was amazing. Only a small piece of what was to come. I eventually looked overboard, and in the distance, I saw it...Kibo. The place looked very foreign, as was expected by the name. We eventually docked, and my family and I got off the boat. While my dad, had to do some more work stuff, my mom took me to our new home. It was a bit bigger than our old home, though not by a lot. Of course, the extra room was necessary, as the new family member that was coming would've had to take up at least a little space. Eventually some Hariyama came and moved everything in. All our old stuff, but in completely different spots...it felt like an entirely new home, y'know? Though I guess that's natural, considering...well...it is.

We also moved in next to this one family of a Gardevoir, a Gallade, and a Ralts. My mom wanted us to get 'acquainted'. While my mom talked to the parents, I was left with the Ralts. I can't really remember the conversation that well, but the name is one I could never forget...Ai. She was very nice, and I'm glad she was one of the first people I've ever met here in Kibo. I knew we would be friends for a very long time. Also, in a couple of months, it would be my birthday. I didn't think to highly of it at first, other than it being my birthday. Of course, I would soon learn that it would be the most awesome birthday ever.

9 years old: Part One

First day of being 9 years old wasn't that special at first. Generic 'happy birthday' from my parents, special breakfast, etc.. Later on in the day, my mom asked me if I wanted to go to the park, take a walk, and get some stuff for later tonight. With nothing better to do, I accepted.

After stopping at the market, we strolled around the park. Then my mom saw a friend of hers, or something. She told me she'd be a while, so she gave me a bag of stuff we got from the market, and told me to sit over at a nearby bench. Obeying her, I went to go sit down. After a while, she came back, saying that she was going off with her friend to take care of business. She told me to be a 'big boy', and to take care of myself for a while. After she left, I started waiting patiently. After a while, she still hasn't come back. That's when a couple of older Pokemon came over to me. An Ambipom, and a Charmeleon. "Hey kid, whatcha got there?" The Charmeleon asked me. I remained silent, heeding what my parents told me about not talking to strangers. "Not gonna tell us?" The Ambipom asked. "Well then, I guess you won't mind if I do...this!" He said, as he used one of his tails to smash the bag, and all of the contents inside.

"Wh-what was that for!?" I asked, infuriated. "Looks like we got your attention now," The Charmeleon started, "Kid, hand over all of your--"

"I'M NOT A KID!" I shouted, still infuriated. "I got told that I'm an adult, I have adult responsibilities, and not only that, but I'm nine years old now!" I was looking at them with anger, but it clearly didn't faze them. "Really now?" The Ambipom said. "Well happy friggin' birthday to you!" I stood there confused. "How did you know it was my birthday?" There was dead silence for the next few seconds, until the Charmeleon let out a chuckle. "We just did, now...c'mere!" He said, as he pulled me down to the ground, pinned my arms behind me, and stood me up. "It's time...for your birthday punchies!" At that moment, the Ambipom raised both of his tail fists into the air, and punched with both simultaneously. The pain was dreadful, and definitely not something I had to deal with in Nautica. He punched me again, with what felt like even more strength. I was on the verge of passing out. He was about to punch me one more time, when a voice sounded from the right.

"Hey! What do you think you two are doing!?" I looked over to see a Pancham(Also, please note. I've always been taught that there are many Pokemon that share a species in this world. Therefore, even a friend you've once made could be one Pokemon, and you could mistake another Pokemon of the same species with your friends). After he said that, the Charmeleon let me go, and I fell to the ground. "The mayor's kid! Run!“ The Charmeleon said, as he and the Ambipom rushed off. I would've liked to thank the Pancham right there, but before I knew it, I feel into a deep sleep, fainted.

I eventually woke up in a room, made only bright by a window. I got up, sitting on a pile of leaves for a bed. I looked around, and noticed that it seemed to be more like a clinic room of sorts. I then noticed the same Pancham from before starting right at me about a foot away. "Ah, glad to see you're awake!" He said. I kinda just stared at him, not knowing what to say. "You wait here! I'll go grab the doctor!" He said, as he left the room. A few moments later, he came rushing back in, also dragging in a Treecko. "Ah yes...glad to see you recovered properly," he said. Now, stand up. I need to examine you for a sec." The Treecko seemed just as old as I was, so I was wondering why he's even doing this. I stood up, though my legs felt shaky. He started looking around at my stomach, where there were a ton of bruises. The Treecko then got up and went over to a small box of sorts, and then looked at me. "Excuse me for a sec...it seems I've run out of Oran Berries," he said, "allow me to leave to grab one from another room."

And with that, he left. "Looks like he won't be gone for a while!“ the Pancham said, looking back at me "The only other place in this entire cave system of a clinic that has Oran Berries is quite a ways away...Oran Berry?" He said, handing me an Oran Berry he apparently had hiding. I grabbed it, and took a bit out of it. "So...why did you hide the very from him?" I asked. "Because I like messing with him!" He replied. "It's all just for fun, though. He's my best friend, really."

"Right...oh yeah, thanks for saving me!" I said, smiling. "I bet anyone would run away from the mayor's child!" The Pancham looked at me, smiling. "Nope! They ran because I'm a master of martial arts!" I kinda darted my eyes away from him at this point. Looking to change the subject, I asked about the doctor. "So...why is my doctor so young?" "Oh, that's easy!" He replied, "he's the actual doctor's son. As part of his training, he deals with the patients with less serious problems. Oh yeah, also, don't call him anything other than 'Doc'. He gets mad if you call him anything else." He finished up, as we heard some murmuring from down the hall. "Here, allow me to show you." As the Treecko came through the door, the Pancham said, "Hey there, Shuko! How ya been?“ "I thought I told you NOT to call me that, Senchi! Call me the doc, and nothing else! Same goes for you, too!“ He said, pointing at me.

Though I wasn't paying attention. I was too busy trying to wipe the years from my face, I was so happy! "H-hey, are you alright?" Senchi asked. "Y-yeah, I'm fine...I'm just so...So..." I had no idea what to say. So I just came right out and spoke my thoughts. "Well...I think I remember meeting you two at one point." I said, wiping the years from my face. "Really? And you're name is...?" Shuko replied. "It's me...Jaws..." That single sentence was followed by dead silence. After a while, they both came up to me and started hugging me out of nowhere. "It's good to finally see you again, Jaws." Shuko said. "We gave up hoping to see you again...but now you're here...“ Senchi said. I was legitimately surprised that they missed me as much as I missed them. And now...we're together. I knew right then and there, that nothing would ever change that.

They're my favorites as well. And Pancham, because I'm not biased.

It's fine, and I will!

Yup. IT'S TEH SISTER!

Well considering it always gives me a place to build off from, and considering that I post a year one day after another, it makes it interesting...well, it would be more effective if more than just you watched it. Even still, I'm enjoying writing this! :D
