Camp Freak [An original RP]

Posted

This RP is for OCs (original characters). And it's not KH based, sorry. :<

It's my first attempt at starting something like this; and it's fairly daunting on a board so jam-packed with KH roleplays. I'm really hoping this doesn't get shot down instantly.

[ -- First off;

A few basic ground rules before I even start to get into what this is about.

Please, PLEASE try to keep your spelling and grammar in check. Paste it in Word or something if needbe, just make sure that people can actually read it without a headache. A typo every here and there is no problem- barely spelling a single word right is. Sorry, but it seriously bothers me. I've had years of English teachers slamming grammar and spelling rules into my head, and now any kind of icky writing just... grates. Although I'm a hypocrite and do tend to start sentences with "And". It's not much of a grammar rule, anyway- basic stuff like forgetting full stops and paragraphing is what is just irritating.

One liners are to be used sparingly here, too. Short replies to long posts are kind of heartless. Even if all you can do is "Soandso jumped in the elevator along with Beezlebub", at least try and stretch it all beyond just one line. Like, if you're stuck with a one-liner response... how are they feeeeeeeeeling? What are they thinking?

Also, no serious God-modding or killing other characters unless you ask permission and they THEN ACTUALLY SAY YES. I've been in roleplays before where someone has asked another person of they can kill their character, has had a no in response, and then killed them off anyway. Gah.

[ -- The Concept;

There are monsters in the streets, the stores, everywhere. But they're not rampaging around, killing and causing havoc. In fact, they are relatively accepted. Evolution and mutation has caused the human race to have to grudgingly make way for their new equals. A lot of hatred still exists for the non-humans, and more for the half breeds. So much that scientists studying them have noticed how hard it is for those of us not entirely human, growing up and living around such prejudice. So a small group of them set up a camp, so to say, a sanctuary for the younger generations. And so, they brought in the kids that had been victimised or targeted, asking parents of such creatures to send their kids in, so they could have somewhere to live where they WEREN'T just freaks. Where they could be themselves. Not a lot of them were willing to stay, however... Once you're sent there, you need your parent's consent to leave until you're twenty. And not everyone feels like holding hands and staying in with the den of monsters.

[ -- Character Sheets;

Name: (Uhm, can really be anything.)

Age: (Bearing in mind the RP is set inside the camp and most people there leave at 20.)

What Are You?: (Half-breed, were, etc, etc... Any kind of creature.)

Appearence: (Picture and/or description)

Past: (Anything significant.)

The rest? I think it's better you work on and show during the RP. If you wanna participate, just fill out the sheet.

"He wasn't scary," Zane scoffed. "He just had a bad attitude and a lot of luck."

"...And he was fighting against an arrogant idiot, that helped the whole powerful scary thing," Zack pointed out, earning a dirty look from Zane.

The White Rabbit reached over and picked up her sketch book and crayons. Turning to a clean page, she handed the sketch book and crayons to Zane, suggesting, "Picture...?"

 • Author

He stared at her like she was completely insane.

Zack shoved him gently, all ready to apologise profusely for Zane's behaviour.

But Zane took the pad from her slowly, glaring distrustingly at her like he expected her to attack him any second.

The White Rabbit then grinned happily before sitting up. Becoming friends seemed like a long shot, but getting on good grounds with him was a start.

 • Author

Zack raised his eyebrows at her over Zane's head, unable to hold back a smirk. Zane was quickly drawing, brow furrowed with concentration. Despite the obvious focus, he was a lot more of a natural at it than his older brother- unlike Zack, he could actually draw.

The White Rabbit continued to smile. She tapped her feet on the soft grass in a steady rhythm as she drew circles on the ground with her finger.

 • Author

After only a few minutes, Zane flipped the sketchbook around, sitting back so Zack could see while he showed them the drawing.

It was scribbly, but it still looked like the twins.

"Wow!!" the White Rabbit exclaimed as she leaned forward to get a better look at it. "That's you two, right?"

 • Author

Zane messed up the back of his hair, grumpily refusing to look at her. "...Obviously."

"It's really awesome!" the White Rabbit commented. "It's definitely better than my drawings!" Then, she paused to stare seriously at the picture. "... It could use a little improvement," she stated. She pointed at the figure that looked a bit like Zack. "His thigh's almost as big as his head."

 • Author

Zack spluttered as Zane's eyebrows shot up. He turned the drawing around, studying it for a moment, then scowled, seeing she was right.

"...Zack has really fat thighs anyway," he grumbled.

"Excuse me?!" his twin exclaimed. "I do NOT!"

(( Yay, I'm less than 100 posts away from my 2,000th post! :D ))

The White Rabbit sighed. She could never imagine what it would be like to have a brother, but the twins' arguments gave her an idea of what it would have been like.

Then, her ear twitched. Something caught her eye.

During the twins' feud, the White Rabbit got up and walked towards it.

As she approached the bush, about two feet away, she froze.

Sitting on the bush was a red collar.

 • Author

Too caught up all the squabbling, which eventually turned to banter, it took quite a while for either twin to notice that White Rabbit had moved. When they did, they both noticed at the same time, and stared each other out for a moment, Zane mocking his older brother without even needing to open his mouth.

Zack got up and followed her, leaving Zane to grumpily try and fix his drawing, oblivious to the White Rabbit's change in mood. "Hey, what's wr-" he started to say, then caught sight of the collar.

"...It's not the one you were talking about, is it?" he asked, concerned.

All of the Rabbit's nerves were shaking. Her hands sweated spontaneously that she kept on opening and closing it into a fist. Her eyes were looking all around the collar. "I.... got rid of it," she said quietly. "I threw it far away. Why is it still here...?"

As her heartbeat sped up, she began breathing frantically. "It.... uh...." She began panicking, becoming delusional. She screamed, scratching frantically at her neck. Through her eyes, she was trying to get the red collar off of her neck. She would swing one hand in the air, fighting off the raindrops in the delusion.

 • Author

"Hey...! HEY!" Zack yelled, forcibly grabbing the hand scratching at her throat, tugging it away from her neck. He struggled for a moment, trying to keep her hand away without hurting her- it was hard to know his own strength.

"It's okay, it's okay- just look at me-" he tried to get hold of her face, trying to make her follow his instructions. "Just keep looking at me, forget about it, it's nothing- ZANE, GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!"

The poor Rabbit couldn't snap out of it. It was like being stuck in a horrible nightmare. She was still swinging her hand, trying to reach her neck, which now revealed old scars.

 • Author

Zack held her hands back, desperately trying not to put too much of his strength into it, knowing he'd hurt her if he did. "ZAAAANE!" he yelled again, pulling the White Rabbit up against him, trying to comfort her the best he could, hiding her face in his shoulder.

Zane strolled over, clearly irritated. "...What?"

"Get rid of the collar thing! It's really upsetting her, can't you SEE that?!"

The White Rabbit continued to cry and scream. She pounded her fist on Zack's shoulder, even though she didn't realize it. She lowered her head, trying to bite off the nonexisting collar.

 • Author

Trapping her arms, Zack knotted a hand in the back of her hair, tugging her head back. "It's okay, it's gonna be okay, Zane's gonna get rid of it-! ZANE RAINES, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET ON WITH IT."

"Alright, alriiiiight..." Zane said, grumpily, picking up the collar. He held it in his hand for a moment, narrowing his eyes- and then lobbed it as hard as he could, right over the trees with all the strength he had.

After a few minutes, the screams only ceased to crying. She eventually stopped struggling. All of her outbursts were limited to her murmuring, "The circle hurts.... The circle hurts...."

 • Author

Zack hugged her properly, trying to calm her down completely, muttering "it's okay" under his breath.

The White Rabbit reduced to only crying. Within moments, she fell asleep.....

In her dream, it was always the same. It's raining. The Rabbit walks in circles, alone. Her neck is bleeding, her blood representing the red collar.

However, one detail was altered. When the Rabbit looked up, she saw two figures. She wasn't alone....

(( The White Rabbit shall wake up when I get back sometime tomorrow! :D ))

 • Author

Trying not to move too fast in case he woke her, pretty soon after he figured out she had fallen asleep, Zack sat down, still holding onto her in case she started freaking out again.

Zane rolled his eyes, going back to his attempt at a drawing. "Jeez, you both made such a fuss over a stupid little collar. What's her deal, anyway?"

"...You wouldn't understand. I didn't get it too well, and Zane... well, you're you." Zack muttered in response. And Zane didn't bother arguing back.

(( I'm at my friend's now, but I'll continue. :3 ))

After several minutes, the White Rabbit stirred in her sleep. Then, she opened her eyes to a slit, waking up.

 • Author

"You okay now...?" Zack asked softly, loosening his grip on her and sitting back to give her room.
