Camp Freak [An original RP]

Posted

This RP is for OCs (original characters). And it's not KH based, sorry. :<

It's my first attempt at starting something like this; and it's fairly daunting on a board so jam-packed with KH roleplays. I'm really hoping this doesn't get shot down instantly.

[ -- First off;

A few basic ground rules before I even start to get into what this is about.

Please, PLEASE try to keep your spelling and grammar in check. Paste it in Word or something if needbe, just make sure that people can actually read it without a headache. A typo every here and there is no problem- barely spelling a single word right is. Sorry, but it seriously bothers me. I've had years of English teachers slamming grammar and spelling rules into my head, and now any kind of icky writing just... grates. Although I'm a hypocrite and do tend to start sentences with "And". It's not much of a grammar rule, anyway- basic stuff like forgetting full stops and paragraphing is what is just irritating.

One liners are to be used sparingly here, too. Short replies to long posts are kind of heartless. Even if all you can do is "Soandso jumped in the elevator along with Beezlebub", at least try and stretch it all beyond just one line. Like, if you're stuck with a one-liner response... how are they feeeeeeeeeling? What are they thinking?

Also, no serious God-modding or killing other characters unless you ask permission and they THEN ACTUALLY SAY YES. I've been in roleplays before where someone has asked another person of they can kill their character, has had a no in response, and then killed them off anyway. Gah.

[ -- The Concept;

There are monsters in the streets, the stores, everywhere. But they're not rampaging around, killing and causing havoc. In fact, they are relatively accepted. Evolution and mutation has caused the human race to have to grudgingly make way for their new equals. A lot of hatred still exists for the non-humans, and more for the half breeds. So much that scientists studying them have noticed how hard it is for those of us not entirely human, growing up and living around such prejudice. So a small group of them set up a camp, so to say, a sanctuary for the younger generations. And so, they brought in the kids that had been victimised or targeted, asking parents of such creatures to send their kids in, so they could have somewhere to live where they WEREN'T just freaks. Where they could be themselves. Not a lot of them were willing to stay, however... Once you're sent there, you need your parent's consent to leave until you're twenty. And not everyone feels like holding hands and staying in with the den of monsters.

[ -- Character Sheets;

Name: (Uhm, can really be anything.)

Age: (Bearing in mind the RP is set inside the camp and most people there leave at 20.)

What Are You?: (Half-breed, were, etc, etc... Any kind of creature.)

Appearence: (Picture and/or description)

Past: (Anything significant.)

The rest? I think it's better you work on and show during the RP. If you wanna participate, just fill out the sheet.

"Um.... yeah," the White Rabbit said, rubbing her eyes. "What happened...?"

 • Author

"You... kind of... freaked out," Zack tried to explain, but struggled to say it, not wanting to offend her or bring back any bad memories.

The White Rabbit looked down, sort of remembering her action. "Oh..."

 • Author

"But the... the thing that caused it... it's gone. Zane threw it out," he reassured her, and as he glanced over, smiled at the sight of Zane furiously scribbling away, trying to fix his drawing.

The White Rabbit looked up at Zack before looking over at Zane. Then, she stood up on her knees and bowed until her head was at the level of her stomach. "Thank you," she said.

 • Author

"Hey, no biggie. We weren't gonna walk off while you were so bad, were we?" Zack looked over at Zane. The younger twin, realising Zack had been talking to him, scowled. Though Zack knew it was more by habit than any actual annoyance.

"I.... guess not," the Rabbit supposed.

 • Author

"Not even Zane's apathy is THAT deep-rooted..." Zack smirked as Zane's scowl became genuine, and he turned back to the drawing. Then something occured to Zack.

"Hey, I never actually got your name..."

"Huh?" the White Rabbit questioned. "Oh... I didn't exactly get a name, so I'm always called the White Rabbit."

 • Author

"Huh..." Zack muttered, dropping his gaze to the floor. Zane came over, leaning over his twin's shoulder, for once looking genuinely curious.

"Hey, that's weird. It's the same for u-"

"Shut up, Zane!" Zack interrupted him, unexpectedly moving away, so Zane half fell without his brother's shoulder to support him.

The White Rabbit stared at them for a moment, confused of what they were fighting about this time.

 • Author

The twins carried on bickering for a little while, but both noticed the White Rabbit's confused expression. Their eyes met, and they smiled, Zack slightly embarrased at making her witness all the scrapping between them.

"It's nothing- just ignore us, okay?" they said simultaniously.

"O... kay...?" the White Rabbit answered, her eyes raised in confusion. She then gave her attention to the ground, drawing circles in it with her finger again.

 • Author

Zane pulled a face. "Cut out the crap with the circles, it's weird."

Zack's face met his palm with an audible smack, as he cringed at Zane's lack of tact.

"It's not weird," the White Rabbit stated. "It's what runs the world."

 • Author

"Oh yeah? How'd you figure that one out?" Zane said, voice snidey enough to earn him a warning glare from Zack.

The White Rabbit glared at the ground. She pointed at Zack, without looking up, as she said, "I already told him."

 • Author

Zane turned to look at Zack in mock astonishment. "Are you hiding what she said from ME, Zachary? Your own twin brother? Your other half, your-"

"I'll tell you the second you get your head out from up your ass," Zack answered, voice dull.

A foghorn sounded from across the camp, presumably near the canteen. Zane didn't react, but Zack winced, sticking a finger in the ear closest to the noise.

"Urgh, what do they want with everyone NOW?" Zane grumbled.

The White Rabbit jumped at the sound. Then, she only sat there for a moment.

 • Author

Zack and Zane stood up together, Zane heading over to pick up the sketchbook and crayons. Zack offered a hand to help her up. "C'mon. We don't wanna be late... After all, ZANE got himself in the camp director's bad books. I'm trying to make up for it."

The White Rabbit only nodded as a response as she grabbed his hand and stood up.

When they reached the canteen area place (...I'm sleepy. O.e) there was a sign up- a list of activities, which both twins scan-read the second they saw it. Zane stomped his foot. "Urgh! I KNEW they would make us do the stupid hike first!"

"Calm down. It's not like they're asking you to carry someone up there and camp with them all night, is it?" Zane said, somewhat snappily- he'd just about reached his limit when it came to Zane's complaints about the camp; especially the hike, as it had basically been the subject of a whole two hour long rant from him.

The White Rabbit had no interest in the sign-up list, but was instead was looking around. There were those that were bigger, more threatening-looking than her. All she was was a mixed-breed; part human, part rabbit.Yet, the humans sent her here with some actual threats, wearing a suffocating collar. The poor Rabbit sighed as she stared at the ground below her feet.

Aaron was sitting in a tree again, sharpening his sword.

 • Author

Zack realised that Zane was glaring up in the direction of the noise. Zane was looking in pretty much the wrong direction, but Zack spotted Aaron quickly and grabbed his twin's shoulder- whether in support or warning, it was hard to be sure.
