Camp Freak [An original RP]

Posted

This RP is for OCs (original characters). And it's not KH based, sorry. :<

It's my first attempt at starting something like this; and it's fairly daunting on a board so jam-packed with KH roleplays. I'm really hoping this doesn't get shot down instantly.

[ -- First off;

A few basic ground rules before I even start to get into what this is about.

Please, PLEASE try to keep your spelling and grammar in check. Paste it in Word or something if needbe, just make sure that people can actually read it without a headache. A typo every here and there is no problem- barely spelling a single word right is. Sorry, but it seriously bothers me. I've had years of English teachers slamming grammar and spelling rules into my head, and now any kind of icky writing just... grates. Although I'm a hypocrite and do tend to start sentences with "And". It's not much of a grammar rule, anyway- basic stuff like forgetting full stops and paragraphing is what is just irritating.

One liners are to be used sparingly here, too. Short replies to long posts are kind of heartless. Even if all you can do is "Soandso jumped in the elevator along with Beezlebub", at least try and stretch it all beyond just one line. Like, if you're stuck with a one-liner response... how are they feeeeeeeeeling? What are they thinking?

Also, no serious God-modding or killing other characters unless you ask permission and they THEN ACTUALLY SAY YES. I've been in roleplays before where someone has asked another person of they can kill their character, has had a no in response, and then killed them off anyway. Gah.

[ -- The Concept;

There are monsters in the streets, the stores, everywhere. But they're not rampaging around, killing and causing havoc. In fact, they are relatively accepted. Evolution and mutation has caused the human race to have to grudgingly make way for their new equals. A lot of hatred still exists for the non-humans, and more for the half breeds. So much that scientists studying them have noticed how hard it is for those of us not entirely human, growing up and living around such prejudice. So a small group of them set up a camp, so to say, a sanctuary for the younger generations. And so, they brought in the kids that had been victimised or targeted, asking parents of such creatures to send their kids in, so they could have somewhere to live where they WEREN'T just freaks. Where they could be themselves. Not a lot of them were willing to stay, however... Once you're sent there, you need your parent's consent to leave until you're twenty. And not everyone feels like holding hands and staying in with the den of monsters.

[ -- Character Sheets;

Name: (Uhm, can really be anything.)

Age: (Bearing in mind the RP is set inside the camp and most people there leave at 20.)

What Are You?: (Half-breed, were, etc, etc... Any kind of creature.)

Appearence: (Picture and/or description)

Past: (Anything significant.)

The rest? I think it's better you work on and show during the RP. If you wanna participate, just fill out the sheet.

Suddenly, the White Rabbit's stomach growled. She looked down frownly upon it. She tugged Zack's arm.

 • Author

"What?" he said obliviously, grip still tight on Zane's shoulder. Then he blinked, hearing another rumble, when it dawned on him. "Oh, you hungry?"

The White Rabbit slowly nodded as a response. Now that she thought about it, she hadn't eaten for a week almost....

 • Author

"Alright. Guess we should grab something anyway- me and Zane need the energy after his stupid fight."

Zack used the grip on Zane's shoulder to turn him around, and pull him after them. "C'mon, idiot. Think about revenge AFTER you've eaten and healed up."

The White Rabbit followed them. She was still in her gloomy mood.

 • Author

Zack glanced over at her, concerned she seemed to be so down. And, while he was distracted, Zane twisted out of his grip and ran towards where he'd seen Aaron.

Aaron was still eating an apple whilst sitting in the tree... he hummed a Poem to himself.

 • Author

Zack didn't try to go after Zane, just sighing heavily as he watched him run off.

Zane snuck up into the trees, managing to stay silent, until he ended up crouched up on a branch just behind Aaron's.

"Boo," he said, voice dull.

Aaron, quick to react, threw his fist back... making contact with Zanes face.

 • Author

Zane was knocked back from the impact, and fell with a pained yelp, catching a branch below with his hands and swinging himself over it, so he could stand on it. The branch had been riddled with thorns, though, and he clenched and unclenched his fists repeatedly, trying to get the wounds to heal faster- although he healed fast to start with, of course.

Aaron looked down at him.

"I don't want to fight you... I granted you clemency last time, and this time I'll have to kill you if you start up again."

 • Author

Zane smirked. "Last time, I wasn't so ready. And, besides, anything to get out of the stupid walk later."

He hopped across to another branch, then with a grunt of effort managed to leap up and grab one above, pulling himself up so he was only a few feet off being level with Aaron.

Aaron stood up, easily balancing himself on the thing branch he was standing on.

He unsheathed his sword...

 • Author

Zane took a leap, managing to grab Aaron's branch despite his sore, still healing palms. With a laugh, he swung his legs and body the best he could, trying to make the branch wobble, and Aaron fall.

Aaron didnt fall... he stood there, seemingly on thin air...

"Is that the best you can do?"

He swung his blade at Zane.

 • Author

"Unlike you, I don't really have a weapon-" Zane pointed out, then seeing the blade heading his way, kicked off one of the branches nearby with both feet, catapulting himself over the branch he was holding, and trying to kick out at Aaron while his legs were still airbourne.

"You should get one." Aaron admitted, throwing a second blade out from a secondary sheath. It was considerably shorter the Aarons... but, it would work.

he tossed it to Zane...

"There you go, might make it fair

[Mind if I join? <3

Name: Zerex Radon

Age: 16

What Are You?: Human, but not quite

Appearence: I'll do a pic for some other time... Brown-spiked hair, golden brown eyes, stocky. Wears Baige-brown swim-shorts and a white T-shirt with "Fury" branded on it. Trainer-socks and a pair of White Converse are his preferred foot attire. He carries a Katana with him aswell as two hidden blades (like Ezio in AC2)

Past: Zerex lives alone after running from home at just 6; during a drunken fight between his parents. His stocky appearance is only achieved through techniques learned from the monsters that looked after him and this illusion hides his true power; an advantage in battle. He is versed in all forms of martial arts and enjoys swimming, hence the shorts. He carries a Katana on his back, which has the phrase "he who holds this, holds true power" inscribed on it, the true power of this sword has been used once by Zerex. He dislikes using it. He holds a picture of the ones he left in his left pocket, to remind him of what he's fighting for, despite faint memories. His goal, to bring a balance to the world, and those who inhabit it. Zerex will strike down those who stand in the way of his goal.]

Zerex awoke. It had been 3 days since the incident and he was raring to go for a swim. He left his clothes and items by the lake and hopped in, the water cleansing his fatigue. The scar left by the wound was visible to all. "I've screwed up," he thought to himself as the thought of what happened plagued his mind.

After his dip, Zerex dried himself off with a make-shift blow-dryer created by him summoning a flame to his hand, "now this is something I can get used to I suppose," Zerex said, a smile creeping onto his face as he studied his new-found ability...

The White Rabbit looked back. "Shouldn't we go stop him?" she asked.

 • Author

Zack sighed. "If I don't let him go, he'll just keep trying to. And if I did hold him back all day, he'd take it out on me afterwards... He's headstrong, but he isn't stupid enough to get himself killed... The other guy can't be too strong, anyway, right?"

Zane caught it by the hilt, smirk growing on his face as he stared down at it. "...Why not keep the advantage?" he asked Aaron, voice holding a tone of surprise even though he was keeping his expression calm.

Sebby had sat himself up in a tree, gazing out over the lake; he knew that there was a water demon who liked to spend her time in there, and responded well to him chatting away... but she wasn't there. Instead, he hopped down behind Zerex, not trying to be quiet.

"Wasn't it cold in there?" he asked brightly.

Zerex heard the Wolf-boy approaching; extinguishing the flame he held as he did so. He was curious as to why the boy wanted to talk to him. (Zerex is supposed to be mature beyond his years after growing up alone etc etc. So I use "boy" although there is maybe a year or two between the pair).

Despite this preliminary uncertainty of the boy's intentions, Zerex replied in a happy tone, "not at all! I'm a big lad, I've swam in colder places and I don't feel the cold as much. You seem like the type who would enjoy a swim."

"I don't know," the White Rabbit said. "I just don't want to see you both hurt again..."

 • Author

"Huh... I guess," Sebby said, squatting down by the water's edge. "I never really learnt how, though, y'know?" He stuck a tentative hand into the water, and pulled it out almost instantly with a shudder. Maybe it was something to do with his tiny build, but the cold just went right through him.

Zack frowned. "We might not look it, but both of us are pretty hard to kill. Injuries that'd be fatal for humans can heal, but..." he shook his head. "If it starts to affect me, I'll go stop him before it gets too bad. But hopefully Zane won't mess up again."

"Because. I don't feel I need it." Aaron replied, slyly smirking.

 • Author

Zane scowled in response, the weight of the weapon feeling a little strange on his nearly healed palm. He tried to leap over to Aaron, swinging the blade as he jumped.
