Camp Freak [An original RP]

Posted

This RP is for OCs (original characters). And it's not KH based, sorry. :<

It's my first attempt at starting something like this; and it's fairly daunting on a board so jam-packed with KH roleplays. I'm really hoping this doesn't get shot down instantly.

[ -- First off;

A few basic ground rules before I even start to get into what this is about.

Please, PLEASE try to keep your spelling and grammar in check. Paste it in Word or something if needbe, just make sure that people can actually read it without a headache. A typo every here and there is no problem- barely spelling a single word right is. Sorry, but it seriously bothers me. I've had years of English teachers slamming grammar and spelling rules into my head, and now any kind of icky writing just... grates. Although I'm a hypocrite and do tend to start sentences with "And". It's not much of a grammar rule, anyway- basic stuff like forgetting full stops and paragraphing is what is just irritating.

One liners are to be used sparingly here, too. Short replies to long posts are kind of heartless. Even if all you can do is "Soandso jumped in the elevator along with Beezlebub", at least try and stretch it all beyond just one line. Like, if you're stuck with a one-liner response... how are they feeeeeeeeeling? What are they thinking?

Also, no serious God-modding or killing other characters unless you ask permission and they THEN ACTUALLY SAY YES. I've been in roleplays before where someone has asked another person of they can kill their character, has had a no in response, and then killed them off anyway. Gah.

[ -- The Concept;

There are monsters in the streets, the stores, everywhere. But they're not rampaging around, killing and causing havoc. In fact, they are relatively accepted. Evolution and mutation has caused the human race to have to grudgingly make way for their new equals. A lot of hatred still exists for the non-humans, and more for the half breeds. So much that scientists studying them have noticed how hard it is for those of us not entirely human, growing up and living around such prejudice. So a small group of them set up a camp, so to say, a sanctuary for the younger generations. And so, they brought in the kids that had been victimised or targeted, asking parents of such creatures to send their kids in, so they could have somewhere to live where they WEREN'T just freaks. Where they could be themselves. Not a lot of them were willing to stay, however... Once you're sent there, you need your parent's consent to leave until you're twenty. And not everyone feels like holding hands and staying in with the den of monsters.

[ -- Character Sheets;

Name: (Uhm, can really be anything.)

Age: (Bearing in mind the RP is set inside the camp and most people there leave at 20.)

What Are You?: (Half-breed, were, etc, etc... Any kind of creature.)

Appearence: (Picture and/or description)

Past: (Anything significant.)

The rest? I think it's better you work on and show during the RP. If you wanna participate, just fill out the sheet.

The WR let out a slight yelp. She looked behind her to see what had hurt her foot, but then found herself looking up at a person. Upon hearing her apology, she stood up and bowed, saying hesitantly, "N-no, I'm sorry. I was in the way."

"No need to bow to me, I'm not anyone important." she said making the WR stand up "And you weren't in the way, I was too distract to notice."

"Oh... Alright," the WR replied, even though she found herself saying that phrase too much.

"I guess we weren't introduced yet, I'm Marielle, nice to meet you." she said thinking that she was being a bit too kind to someone she had just met.

"Nice to meet you, Marielle," the Rabbit greeted. She fondled with the tip of her ear, eyeing back at Zack because she was confused on what to do.

 • Author

Seeing the White Rabbit and Marielle weren't about to go at each others' throats, Zack had started staring mindlessly off into space. He couldn't help but let his mind turn to the memories just a taste of blood had dredged up earlier- it confused him that it had even happened, since usually when he used blood to heal he was fine.

There weren't usually side effects... but, then again, he could only come to the conclusion that it must have had something to do with the species. It must have been the human side to the White Rabbit's blood that caused it. After all, he'd never had anything to do with rabbits, and it made sense, since the memory he'd had to relive was from back when there had been a little human boy called Zack instead of... the freak who replaced him.

At that thought, Zack realised he couldn't see properly, and blinked in attempt to remove the cloud across his vision. When he did, the tears trickled down his cheeks- not that he was even aware of it.

Aaron was sitting in a tree... again.

He sure loves trees... doesnt he?

"Love is such bitter sweet sorrow..." he said, quoting some dead guy.

"Hey! Zane! I wanna Spar!"

 • Author

Completely oblivious to the fact his brother was, I don't know, Zane, CRYING...?! Zane turned to look over at Aaron, raising his eyebrows.

"For fun this time? I'd really prefer not to find your sword tearing a chunk out of me this time around, it's kind of painful while it lasts, you know?"

Getting to his feet, he smacked his fist sideways against the tree. "What are you, a monkey?!"

"Yes, for fun!" Aaron said, with a slight undertone of sarcasm.

He jumped down to Zane, standing to his side,

"And no... I just love climbing. Always have..." he said, smiling and looking at the tree fondly.

He unsheathed his blade and walked closer to the field... a wide field about a dozen yards across.

"Bring it!"

If he beats me this time, I am NOT going to scream or have a toddler tantrum about it. Even though it's the third time. Gah, why couldn't I win the last two?! Zane thought to himself, looking around for the blade Aaron had leant him earlier- although it was shorter than Aaron's, it made Zane feel a little closer to winning. He must have dropped it when they were falling... after all, he'd been stabbed, he wasn't really going to look for it right away. After an embarrasingly long search through a nearby bush, Zane finally found it, and headed towards Aaron. "...Alright, I'm ready now," he announced, slightly grumpy at not getting to it right away.

Aaron was trying to muffle a snicker... but it came out anyway.

"You know... I got that blade from my old sensei... taught me everything I know today." he said, matter-of-factly.

"I'll probably take it back off your hands once I find or buy or trade off another one for you" He continued, winking.

He charged foward, blade aimed and ready.

 • Author

"...You'd do that? It's not like I've ever..." Zane started to go off on one, rambling, but trailed off when he realised Aaron was heading towards him. Ignoring the slight sting from his earlier wound, Zane darted forwards and swung the blade around, aiming for Aaron's shoulder. It wasn't as if the wound could bother him, anyway- he knew for sure that it had to have fully healed up by that point, so any pain he felt was probably just all in his head.

Aaron managed to dodge out of the way within a split second before the blow landed.

"Whoa! First time you've come close." Aaron said, taunting his opponent.

He jumped into air and shifted his weight, backflipping so that he was standing behind Zane... he gently tapped him on the back with the broadside of the blade.

"You're dead!"

 • Author

Zane smirked for a brief fraction of a second, then caught on to the fact Aaron was teasing him. "Oh, shut up-" he tried to retort, taking a step forwards. And then Aaron moved, and Zane, not expecting it, swore loudly when he felt the sword touch his back. Whipping around, he brought his own blade up as he turned, trying to push Aaron's aside with a block he prayed would work and wouldn't result in him dropping the sword.

The force of Zanes hit knocked the blade from Aarons hand, and it went flying into the dirt.

Ohshi-, he thought to himself....

He smirked... hoping to lead Zane into his newly concocted trap.

 • Author

Zane laughed, shaking the dark hair out of his eyes as he twirled the blade in his hand, lifting it so the very point of it was level with Aaron's chest. "What were you saying before about my good shot, huh?"

He just couldn't believe his luck had carried over. That, and he'd forgotten his own strength- something only Zack tended to do, since by comparison Zane was ridiculously weak when paired against his older brother.

Aaron, in a flash, brought his right leg up, and kicked the blade from Zanes hand... quickly followed up on by a punch to the face.

"COUGH." Aaron grunted...

"Now so long as your lying there, pay attention..."

 • Author

Zane managed not to yelp or embarrass himself in any other way as he hit the ground, floored by the punch. Dazed and having to blink stars out of his eyes, he only groaned a very pained sounding "What?" in response to Aaron. Automatically reaching up to check his nose wasn't broken, he was relieved that it wasn't- only bleeding a little, and that wouldn't last for long.

The White Rabbit had sighed at the sight of the sparring battle. It probably was useless to try to stop it the third time around, so she didn't bother to intervene.

A memory came to her. It was of her sisters, once again. When they had fought over food, she stayed out of the way because she was afraid of her own wellbeing. However, it was a result of her sisters' agonizing pains. She shook her head, not wanting the memory to burden her.

After a moment, the White Rabbit had noticed that tears were coming from Zack's eyes. "Zack," she began as she sat next to him, "are you okay?"

 • Author

Zack stared at her blankly for a moment, reaching up to catch one of the tears as he felt it rolling down his face. Surprised, he stared down at the droplet, blanced on his finger. With a slight shudder, he wiped it off on his jeans, slumping slightly as he buried his face in his hands. "I don't know..." he mumbled, voice thick with still unshed tears.

The White Rabbit frowned as her eyebrows slightly curled upward. Zack looked really... pitiful in this state. Is this how she looked like when she was upset? As she sat a hand on his shoulder, the White Rabbit conjured, "Um... You'll be all right. I promise." She smiled, hoping that it would help at least encourage him a little.

"There is no duelist like me... this makes three times I've beaten you." Aaron said... getting cocky for a moment.

"But I digress... good fight man!" he said, offering a hand to Zane... and pulling him to his feet in a friendly gesture

 • Author

Zack's shoulders shook, his breath coming in sobs, as he kept his hands over his face. He didn't reply for a long while, struggling to breathe properly through the near-hysterical sobbing. Eventually, he murmured something into his palms, needing a few more seconds to repeat it so it was even audible to the White Rabbit's good hearing.

"Don't touch me."

It sounded less like an order, and much more like he was begging.

Zane smiled, rolling his eyes, and when he was back on his feet, crossed his arms, pretending to scowl. "Punching is cheating," he said childishly, only uncrossing his arms to briefly pinch his nose, waiting for the blood to stop. There really wasn't that much, and he mopped up the tiny black trickle long before it would have bothered him.

"Sorry about that..." Aaron mumbled, disgraced that he had hurt him...

"Got carried away." he admitted... before it hit him

"HEY! I DIDNT CHEAT!" he said, half joking

 • Author

"Besides, sheesh, I was holding back the entire time," Zane continued, sniffing a little before dropping his hand away from his nose. If he was being honest, he probably would have ended up cheating anyway himself... he just would have taken a little longer before he actually tried anything.
