Camp Freak [An original RP]

Posted

This RP is for OCs (original characters). And it's not KH based, sorry. :<

It's my first attempt at starting something like this; and it's fairly daunting on a board so jam-packed with KH roleplays. I'm really hoping this doesn't get shot down instantly.

[ -- First off;

A few basic ground rules before I even start to get into what this is about.

Please, PLEASE try to keep your spelling and grammar in check. Paste it in Word or something if needbe, just make sure that people can actually read it without a headache. A typo every here and there is no problem- barely spelling a single word right is. Sorry, but it seriously bothers me. I've had years of English teachers slamming grammar and spelling rules into my head, and now any kind of icky writing just... grates. Although I'm a hypocrite and do tend to start sentences with "And". It's not much of a grammar rule, anyway- basic stuff like forgetting full stops and paragraphing is what is just irritating.

One liners are to be used sparingly here, too. Short replies to long posts are kind of heartless. Even if all you can do is "Soandso jumped in the elevator along with Beezlebub", at least try and stretch it all beyond just one line. Like, if you're stuck with a one-liner response... how are they feeeeeeeeeling? What are they thinking?

Also, no serious God-modding or killing other characters unless you ask permission and they THEN ACTUALLY SAY YES. I've been in roleplays before where someone has asked another person of they can kill their character, has had a no in response, and then killed them off anyway. Gah.

[ -- The Concept;

There are monsters in the streets, the stores, everywhere. But they're not rampaging around, killing and causing havoc. In fact, they are relatively accepted. Evolution and mutation has caused the human race to have to grudgingly make way for their new equals. A lot of hatred still exists for the non-humans, and more for the half breeds. So much that scientists studying them have noticed how hard it is for those of us not entirely human, growing up and living around such prejudice. So a small group of them set up a camp, so to say, a sanctuary for the younger generations. And so, they brought in the kids that had been victimised or targeted, asking parents of such creatures to send their kids in, so they could have somewhere to live where they WEREN'T just freaks. Where they could be themselves. Not a lot of them were willing to stay, however... Once you're sent there, you need your parent's consent to leave until you're twenty. And not everyone feels like holding hands and staying in with the den of monsters.

[ -- Character Sheets;

Name: (Uhm, can really be anything.)

Age: (Bearing in mind the RP is set inside the camp and most people there leave at 20.)

What Are You?: (Half-breed, were, etc, etc... Any kind of creature.)

Appearence: (Picture and/or description)

Past: (Anything significant.)

The rest? I think it's better you work on and show during the RP. If you wanna participate, just fill out the sheet.

"I'm Adrienne," she introduced herself.

'He seems nice' Adrienne thought

As the others were outside enjoying some fresh air, Andromeda was curled up in her cabin, on her soft bed, reading an old book she had found from the drawer. She yawned, revealing her fangs as she did so, flipping a page absent-mindedly. Her black hair hid her almond-shaped eyes which flied across the letters, gaze dull.

Normally she would have gone outside and sat on the cool grass, but no, not now; it was more peaceful inside with no-one around. Meda didn't want to talk to anyone - she knew no-one didn't want to talk to her, anyway. Freaks or not, she would always be alone. Besides, everyone was younger than her.

Great, I'm surrounded by a bunch of kids.

Continuing to lazily glance through the text, the raven-haired feline sighed, wondering why her parents had thought this camp was a good idea.

Zack, after what must have been a full five minutes of deliberating, knocked his fist needlessly hard against the wood of Meda's cabin door. Not that he knew who was in there; it was just it was the only occupied cabin. And Zack still didn't trust Zane not to try and sneak in on people and be stupid.

He'd woken up, back killing him, to find Zane had cleared off. An angry Zane on the rampage meant trouble for anyone that got in his way... unless Zack found him quickly. That plan had gone totally down the drain, however; thanks to Zack's ridiculously bad sense of direction, he had pretty much passed his twin, and ended up in completly the wrong place. Still, he didn't know that, and the possibility of Zane sneaking in someone else's cabin was pretty high.

"Um, hello?" he called out, beginning to feel stupid- after all, what if someone was asleep in there?

Knock knock~

Andromeda flinched, eyes darting towards the cabin door, hand frozen in the middle of turning a page. She slowly put the book down, crawling silently to the other side of the bed, staring at the door in surprise and slight irritation.

The person said something - it sounded like an inquiring hello. Meda snapped out of her slight amazement, her feet meeting the cool floor as she got off the bed and paced to the door. Pulling it open, she let her green eyes rest upon the boy. He looked like one of the older kids; actually almost as old as her, a teen. Leaning against the architrave, she spoke:

"Yes?"

ryo walked around smoking another smoke, looking for someone to talk to

Zack cleared his throat awkwardly, shuffling his feet as the girl opened the door. He'd taken a few precautionary steps backwards when the door had creaked open, but now he could see to his relief that she didn't look that menacing. Though first impressions weren't always accurate in this camp- Zack had learnt that the hard way, after one of Zane's tricks went wrong and the kid they'd been teasing had completely gone psycho. He could tell the girl standing in front of him was part cat- the ears gave it away- and that she was probably a little older than he was. Up until that point, it had seemed the twins were the eldest; Zack guessed they were probably just among them. The older inhabitants tended to stay clear of everyone else...

"Erm..." he mumbled, trying to maintain his composure. "I was wondering... if you'd seen my brother round here. He looks kinda like me," Zack tugged on his coppery brown hair slightly. "'Cept he's dyed his hair dark. I... I thought he might've snuck around back here, and Zane can't be trusted with girls around..."

Babbling by that point, he trailed off, running one hand through the back of his hair.

Finally giving up of trying to find something to do Marielle turned around and went back to hr cabin, the only thing she could think of was getting her notebook and write something. While she walked fastly through the corridors in the direction of the cabins she didn't notice the other people who were walking around, for her that wasn't very important, since she always lived alone nothing changed.

after walking around of being bored, ryo decided to walk very slowly to his cabine, to have more fun of boredom

Andromeda tried to seem interested as she listened to the guy blabbering something about his missing brother. She really wasn't eager to talk, but oh well, she was quite bored so why not. And it seemed this person didn't mind conversing with her. The ravenette yawned before replying to the boy.

"Well, I've been in here all day", she gestured towards her bed, "so I haven't seen anyone, really. You're actually the first person I've talked to so far."

ryo finally gotten to his cabin, then when he gotten in, ryo went into his kitchen and had some coffee and donits while reading

The brunet sighed, gazing around as though he somehow expected a glowing signpost to sprout up from the ground, pointing the way to his brother. That (unsurprisingly) didn't happen.

"What, you just stayed in there, in the dark, all morning? How come you're not bored out of your mind?" Zack asked- he himself just couldn't fathom it. He might have been decidedly more patient and level-headed than his twin, but he had just as short an attention span. They both needed to be constantly kept entertained, or, heaven forbid... they might get bored.

Zane was easily entertained, though, and Zack was always happy to go along with whatever stupid thing Zane wanted to do. Unless it was totally out-of-the-question crazy, and then they'd find something more entertaining to do.

Andromeda smiled slightly.

"Let's say I've got used to it", she said. Oh, he had no clue... she had been sitting in her room alone for months. Well, what can you do when no-one wants to talk to you? Her sister had tried to cheer her up and get her to go out to town with her, but she refused to join her. The ravenettte was sure she would have just been insulted, the freak she was.

after ryo had his coffee, and donits he walked around for 5 minutes then went and took a nap on his couch

"This place is boring me out of my mind, I should get out of here. It's not like they can keep me here forever." Marielle took her coat and put it on her shoulders, opening the door she got out and slowly walked through the camp paying attention to every detail to figure out which would be the best way of getting out of there.

ryo decided to go walk around the area then, he saw marielle and walked up to her and said

"Nothing that should concern you." she answered with her normal cold voice.

ryo

"If this place was a bit better maybe I would be more, lets say, friendly." Marielle said stoping and looking at him with her emotionless eyes.

ryo looked at her in the eyes

"So I guess you could come with me."

ryo

So I guess you can help me find a way out of this place."she said walking besides the walls trying to find a good spot.

ryo

"They would find us first, we'd better find a better way, something that wouldn't call many attentions."

ryo
