Camp Freak [An original RP]

Posted

This RP is for OCs (original characters). And it's not KH based, sorry. :<

It's my first attempt at starting something like this; and it's fairly daunting on a board so jam-packed with KH roleplays. I'm really hoping this doesn't get shot down instantly.

[ -- First off;

A few basic ground rules before I even start to get into what this is about.

Please, PLEASE try to keep your spelling and grammar in check. Paste it in Word or something if needbe, just make sure that people can actually read it without a headache. A typo every here and there is no problem- barely spelling a single word right is. Sorry, but it seriously bothers me. I've had years of English teachers slamming grammar and spelling rules into my head, and now any kind of icky writing just... grates. Although I'm a hypocrite and do tend to start sentences with "And". It's not much of a grammar rule, anyway- basic stuff like forgetting full stops and paragraphing is what is just irritating.

One liners are to be used sparingly here, too. Short replies to long posts are kind of heartless. Even if all you can do is "Soandso jumped in the elevator along with Beezlebub", at least try and stretch it all beyond just one line. Like, if you're stuck with a one-liner response... how are they feeeeeeeeeling? What are they thinking?

Also, no serious God-modding or killing other characters unless you ask permission and they THEN ACTUALLY SAY YES. I've been in roleplays before where someone has asked another person of they can kill their character, has had a no in response, and then killed them off anyway. Gah.

[ -- The Concept;

There are monsters in the streets, the stores, everywhere. But they're not rampaging around, killing and causing havoc. In fact, they are relatively accepted. Evolution and mutation has caused the human race to have to grudgingly make way for their new equals. A lot of hatred still exists for the non-humans, and more for the half breeds. So much that scientists studying them have noticed how hard it is for those of us not entirely human, growing up and living around such prejudice. So a small group of them set up a camp, so to say, a sanctuary for the younger generations. And so, they brought in the kids that had been victimised or targeted, asking parents of such creatures to send their kids in, so they could have somewhere to live where they WEREN'T just freaks. Where they could be themselves. Not a lot of them were willing to stay, however... Once you're sent there, you need your parent's consent to leave until you're twenty. And not everyone feels like holding hands and staying in with the den of monsters.

[ -- Character Sheets;

Name: (Uhm, can really be anything.)

Age: (Bearing in mind the RP is set inside the camp and most people there leave at 20.)

What Are You?: (Half-breed, were, etc, etc... Any kind of creature.)

Appearence: (Picture and/or description)

Past: (Anything significant.)

The rest? I think it's better you work on and show during the RP. If you wanna participate, just fill out the sheet.

Zack smiled at her. "Oh, good. You still have some crayons left, right? My- I mean, I didn't crush them ALL, did I?"

Zane looked up at him for a moment. His smirk widened, and then he was gone; he'd jumped upwards, too fast for Aaron to track him right, and was clinging to a branch over head with both hands, eyes closed, ready to try and focus.

"Hey, look, Adrienne, he stopped!" Sebby exclaimed, delightedly but completely pointlessly.

Aaron sheathed his sword... he looked down to see Adriennes hand...

he then realized he hadn't even seen her face yet.

He looked to it...

"Yo... your beautfiul."

"Um..." The White Rabbit began to dig through her small bag. A moment later, she pulled out a few worn-down crayons. "I got a red... brown..... and a black."

"U-Uhh.." Adrienne stuttered.

She then noticed that Zane was gone. She turned around looking for the twin and spotted him clinging to a branch overhead. "Hey!"

Aaron couldn't take his eyes off Adrienne... she reminded him of someone.

Zack groaned. "That really isn't very many, is it? Drawing like that'd be tricky."

Way to go, Zane. Though, he WAS used to cleaning up his brother's mess.

Zane used his grip on the branch to flip over it, balancing on it with the balls of his feet and standing up. He pushed his dark hair off his face, right out of his eyes, and stared down at the others, bemused. "Hm... no fun when they calm down."

"Hey come down from there!" Adrienne exclaimed.

(shortpostisnotshort)

Aaron looked up to the man.

"If you prefer me being Agressive... you'd be dead by now."

The White Rabbit smiled, saying, "No, not at all!" She laid on her stomach and opened her sketch book. As she began coloring, she continued, "You just go ahead and color with what life gives you, regardless whether or not they're taken away."

 • Author

"It's not so bad up here, you know? Feels kinda free," Zane laughed, not budging, instead bouncing on the balls of his feet, making the branch wobble, and, he hoped, the others worry.

Zack crossed his legs and sat down next to her, trying to crane his neck to see her drawing as she worked on it.

(shortpostisevenshorter)

Aaron sighed... he whipped his sword out and cut the branch he was standing on in half.

(( Shortpostsarealright. :3 ))

After a few minutes, the White Rabbit sat her crayon down to hold up her sketch book. "See?" she said, pointing at four stick people with bunny ears. "These are my sisters. And this..." She pointed at a little horizontal red line, "is me."

((No they're not... they're against the rules actually))

(( The creator can break her own rules! D: ))

Zane dropped like a stone, landing with a loud thud, right on his feet, crouching as he landed to soften the impact. He sighed heavily, and stayed crouched there, eyes fixed on the dirt. "Trust me. You don't want to ruin my fun."

Zack blinked. "Wait, why are you just a little red line?"

"Hey you guys, don't fight" Adrienne said.

((Parenthesis posts are against the rules 8'D))

"Because, I'm a white rabbit," the White Rabbit said. "I don't have a white crayon." She stared at the red line for a moment. "That's... what I woke up with when I got here..."

(( We're rule breakers... ._., ))

"Hey... you could always do an outline with the other colours, couldn't you? And the paper's white, so, even if you did have a white crayon, it wouldn't show up." Zack offered one of the darker crayons. "It just doesn't seem right, only drawing you as a line."

The White Rabbit stared at the crayon for a moment before taking it. "Yes, but it's better to be unseen. The red line was the only thing that made me stand out..." She then tried erasing the line with her fingernail. "So I clawed my way out of it."

 • Author

He put his hand over hers, stopping her erasing the line the best he could.

"There's nothing bad about being different," Zack said. "It should be somethin everyone celebrates. Being..." for a moment, his hand seemed to be shaking, but it stopped as soon as it started. "Being individual."

The White Rabbit's head lowered, as did her ears. "There's nothing to celebrate if you have to be labelled for being an individual..." she muttered.

 • Author

"Really?" Zack raised his eyebrows for a moment, then sat back, tugging his t-shirt down from the neck, giving her a brief glimpse of a dark grey, complex symbol incased in a circle, which seemed to have been tattooed just below his collarbone.

"...I never minded being "labelled", if you wanna call it that. See? No big deal."

Zack was blatantly ignoring the fact they had probably completely different experiences, of course.

The White Rabbit stared at the design of the tattoo for a moment. Then, she slightly smirked, saying, "Why must everything be inside a circle?"

Suddenly, thinking about the meanings of circles, she remembered a bad memory of her sisters before she left then. They would go as far as strangle on another food.

As she stared in space, the White Rabbit remarked, "The circles always hurt..."

 • Author

"Huh?" Zack leant over, trying to catch her eye. "What d'you mean, "the circles always hurt"?"

He tried his best to think himself- but only physical pain came to mind. Sure, the brand had been painful- after all, it was burnt into his skin- but he doubted it could be as simple as that.

"The circles..." the White Rabbit stated. "The people that would surround our box..." She held out her hands, both of her thumbs connecting, as well as her index fingers. "The pain my sisters inflicted on one another..." She then set her hands around her neck. "The pain from the red collar..." As she sat her hands down, she looked at the horizon line. "The circle that we live in..."
