Camp Freak [An original RP]

Posted

This RP is for OCs (original characters). And it's not KH based, sorry. :<

It's my first attempt at starting something like this; and it's fairly daunting on a board so jam-packed with KH roleplays. I'm really hoping this doesn't get shot down instantly.

[ -- First off;

A few basic ground rules before I even start to get into what this is about.

Please, PLEASE try to keep your spelling and grammar in check. Paste it in Word or something if needbe, just make sure that people can actually read it without a headache. A typo every here and there is no problem- barely spelling a single word right is. Sorry, but it seriously bothers me. I've had years of English teachers slamming grammar and spelling rules into my head, and now any kind of icky writing just... grates. Although I'm a hypocrite and do tend to start sentences with "And". It's not much of a grammar rule, anyway- basic stuff like forgetting full stops and paragraphing is what is just irritating.

One liners are to be used sparingly here, too. Short replies to long posts are kind of heartless. Even if all you can do is "Soandso jumped in the elevator along with Beezlebub", at least try and stretch it all beyond just one line. Like, if you're stuck with a one-liner response... how are they feeeeeeeeeling? What are they thinking?

Also, no serious God-modding or killing other characters unless you ask permission and they THEN ACTUALLY SAY YES. I've been in roleplays before where someone has asked another person of they can kill their character, has had a no in response, and then killed them off anyway. Gah.

[ -- The Concept;

There are monsters in the streets, the stores, everywhere. But they're not rampaging around, killing and causing havoc. In fact, they are relatively accepted. Evolution and mutation has caused the human race to have to grudgingly make way for their new equals. A lot of hatred still exists for the non-humans, and more for the half breeds. So much that scientists studying them have noticed how hard it is for those of us not entirely human, growing up and living around such prejudice. So a small group of them set up a camp, so to say, a sanctuary for the younger generations. And so, they brought in the kids that had been victimised or targeted, asking parents of such creatures to send their kids in, so they could have somewhere to live where they WEREN'T just freaks. Where they could be themselves. Not a lot of them were willing to stay, however... Once you're sent there, you need your parent's consent to leave until you're twenty. And not everyone feels like holding hands and staying in with the den of monsters.

[ -- Character Sheets;

Name: (Uhm, can really be anything.)

Age: (Bearing in mind the RP is set inside the camp and most people there leave at 20.)

What Are You?: (Half-breed, were, etc, etc... Any kind of creature.)

Appearence: (Picture and/or description)

Past: (Anything significant.)

The rest? I think it's better you work on and show during the RP. If you wanna participate, just fill out the sheet.

Zack put a hand on her shoulder, staring at her, worried and slightly confused.

"Looks like you had a rough time of it out there, huh?" he said softly.

Of course he didn't understand. He really couldn't. The only time he'd ever been treated as though he was less than human was when he and Zack were exposed- and they'd only found out they weren't human at pretty much the same time, so everything just blurred into one big shock. Before that... he might not have always had Zane, and they might have been the "freaky twins", but it all had been so easy even then.

(( We have a thunderstorm, so I won't type that much. ._. ))

Still staring at the horizon line, the White Rabbit merely replied with a nod.

(I... kind of have to give in and go to bed. I have three exams in a matter of hours... O.e Gah, I'm going to failll...)

"But... are you okay here? It's not so bad- most of the bad stuff from outside just... goes away."

As well as a lot of the good stuff, Zack couldn't help but think.

(( Yeah, same here. xD Night! ))

"Yeah, I suppose..." the White Rabbit said.

Then, as though her soul returned to her body, she said cheerfully, "By the way, you don't have to pretend to be your brother. I'm not upset anymore."

Zack paled, then his cheeks flushed red. "...Damn. I was hoping you wouldn't figure it out... what gave me away?"

With a sigh, he ran his hand roughly through his hair, messing it all up- but when he messed with it, the black tangles of his hair regained their normal colour.

The White Rabbit grinned, saying, "Rabbits have a special sense of people, or something like it." She then looked at her sketch book to turn the page.

"How long have you known?" Zack asked, sheepish. He hadn't been couunting on her figuring him out- although it would have been awkward, had she met them both later on; since Zane would still be treating everyone like dirt, and the fact it had been Zack who followed her probably would have become apparent very quickly. He could have acted a little more like he used to, let Zane pull him in and act just as bad. It had happened before...

Aaron still had his blade unsheathed...

"Please, don't make me you kill you."

"I had a suspicion when you stuttered when you asked about my crayons," the White Rabbit explained. She took her black crayon and began drawing an immense circle.

Zane straightened up, hands in the back pockets of his jeans. He kept his head down, though, so his bangs fell right over his eyes. All you could see of his expression was his lips, still twisted into a smirk.

"Oh, I'm not worried about YOU killing ME."

Zack groaned. "Oh. I kind of forgot I was faking him for a moment... I kind of hoped you'd have missed it."

He slumped forwards, leaning on his elbows. "Circles again," he commented.

"That sounds like a challenge. One that I'm tempted to accept." Aaron said, plainly.

He lunged after Zane

"Hey, you guys stop it!" Adrienne yelled.

Zane dodged sideways, with a low laugh. He whipped around, lashing out a kick at Aaron.

Aaron felt the sting of the blow surge up his spine.

ohhhh that smarts he thought...

but pain is overrated. He cast it off... and unexpectingly swung his blade at Zane, nicking his shoulder with a shallow gash

Zane didn't flinch, ignoring the wound as blood trickled down his arm, so dark it was practically black. Instead of even glancing at it, he shot forwards, grabbing the blade of Aaron's sword and twisting it, trying to break the other boy's grip on it.

Thats when Zane made his mistake... when he grabbed Aarons blade... he pulled and twisted towards himself...

Aaron laughed... and he pushed the blade towards Zane... and it pierced his stomach, going out through the other side.

 • Author

Zane froze for a moment, standing there with the sword still impaling him.

Then he lifted his head to look at the other boy- but his eyes were completely black- with no iris or white to them at all. The blood leaking out of his wounds rose into the air, snaking around him with a low hissing noise, and, on the ground, his shadow convulsed.

"Bad idea."

"Was it?"

Aaron rotated the blade around inside Zane... then ripped it out, taking flesh from bone with it,

 • Author

Zane stumbled backwards slightly, but laughed, but it sounded more like retching because of the blood clogging in his throat.

He pulled his arm up, and the airborne blood followed it, seeming to harden in the air- and he lashed out, striking out at Aaron with it, sending it whipping towards his face.

Aaron ducked... then dodged... but wa shit by the third...

"Damn it!" he exclaimed... he took up his sword, and started defelcting the others right back atZane

 • Author

Zane gripped the trunk of one of the trees, jumping upwards and kicking off, landing in one of the trees across from it. He continued to send the blood after Aaron, dangling from a high branch by one hand.

Aaron continued in the same manner of slapping the makeshift bullets away with the broadside of his sword.

He knocked the last porjectile in the group... before Zane started launching more.

He could only have SO much blood, right?

"Yep," the White Rabbit merely stated as she completed the circle. She then colored it in with a red crayon.

 • Author

Before Zane knew it, the edges of his vision were starting to cloud- a sure sign that the blood attacks were only a temporary measure. He glanced down at Aaron, then let go of the branch, trying to land on top of Aaron.

Aaron simply backstepped...and Zane fell flat on his face in front of him.
