Camp Freak [An original RP]

Posted

This RP is for OCs (original characters). And it's not KH based, sorry. :<

It's my first attempt at starting something like this; and it's fairly daunting on a board so jam-packed with KH roleplays. I'm really hoping this doesn't get shot down instantly.

[ -- First off;

A few basic ground rules before I even start to get into what this is about.

Please, PLEASE try to keep your spelling and grammar in check. Paste it in Word or something if needbe, just make sure that people can actually read it without a headache. A typo every here and there is no problem- barely spelling a single word right is. Sorry, but it seriously bothers me. I've had years of English teachers slamming grammar and spelling rules into my head, and now any kind of icky writing just... grates. Although I'm a hypocrite and do tend to start sentences with "And". It's not much of a grammar rule, anyway- basic stuff like forgetting full stops and paragraphing is what is just irritating.

One liners are to be used sparingly here, too. Short replies to long posts are kind of heartless. Even if all you can do is "Soandso jumped in the elevator along with Beezlebub", at least try and stretch it all beyond just one line. Like, if you're stuck with a one-liner response... how are they feeeeeeeeeling? What are they thinking?

Also, no serious God-modding or killing other characters unless you ask permission and they THEN ACTUALLY SAY YES. I've been in roleplays before where someone has asked another person of they can kill their character, has had a no in response, and then killed them off anyway. Gah.

[ -- The Concept;

There are monsters in the streets, the stores, everywhere. But they're not rampaging around, killing and causing havoc. In fact, they are relatively accepted. Evolution and mutation has caused the human race to have to grudgingly make way for their new equals. A lot of hatred still exists for the non-humans, and more for the half breeds. So much that scientists studying them have noticed how hard it is for those of us not entirely human, growing up and living around such prejudice. So a small group of them set up a camp, so to say, a sanctuary for the younger generations. And so, they brought in the kids that had been victimised or targeted, asking parents of such creatures to send their kids in, so they could have somewhere to live where they WEREN'T just freaks. Where they could be themselves. Not a lot of them were willing to stay, however... Once you're sent there, you need your parent's consent to leave until you're twenty. And not everyone feels like holding hands and staying in with the den of monsters.

[ -- Character Sheets;

Name: (Uhm, can really be anything.)

Age: (Bearing in mind the RP is set inside the camp and most people there leave at 20.)

What Are You?: (Half-breed, were, etc, etc... Any kind of creature.)

Appearence: (Picture and/or description)

Past: (Anything significant.)

The rest? I think it's better you work on and show during the RP. If you wanna participate, just fill out the sheet.

Aaron then swung around and grabbed Zane by the neck, sitting on his legs, and holding his arms with the other arm.

"Will you just give up?"

"Umm.... Hey!" the White Rabbit shouted louder. "Please don't fight!" Her hands clenched into fists, and her knees were shaking, colliding with each other.

Damn it, Zack! Where's my backup, you overly sentimental douche?!

Zane glared at him, still gasping and trying to blink his eyes clear. He couldn't answer- he was too winded for that.

Aaron just ended it then... he squeezed a nerve ending on Zanes neck, and knocked him out

Zane slumped to the floor, all the fight going out of him. As his eyes slid shut, he couldn't fight the tears still clinging to his lashes- as he passed out, they trickled down the side of his face.

His tongue jammed between his teeth, Zack was struggling with the black crayon- so far all he'd managed was a very wobbly scrawl... that just looked like a scribble. Even though he was left handed, he was still useless at art.

Aaron threw Zanes lifeless body into a nearby bush...

"Should have given up."

The White Rabbit stood there for a moment. Then, walking cautiously, she approached Zane and tried dragging him by his arms so she could take him back to Zack.

Zane didn't stir. Obviously, because he was only knocked out four posts ago. (xDD)

Scribbling hard by that point, Zack tried closing his eyes and drawing. It couldn't look any worse, right?

Adrienne stared in utter disbelief at the outcome of the fight.

'What the hell just happened?' she thought to herself.

Aaron wiped the blood off of his blade... and he resheathed it.

"Was he really all that hard to beat?"

After about... ten minutes or so, the White Rabbit eventually was able to bring Zane back to Zack. "He was knocked out," she explained. "He's hurt... pretty bad..."

Zack pushed the sketchbook and crayons to the side, silently tugging his brother into his lap.

He glanced up at the White Rabbit, expression unreadable.

"...Who'd he piss off? And did Zane hurt them?" he asked, voice quiet.

Sebby looked over at Adrienne. "Hey, you okay?"

[And I'm not upholding the short posts rule because I MEANT posts that are like "Bob nodded". And that's it. xD Besides, I'm mostly on and iPod touch and my posts that last several paragraphs take AGES.]

"A... really creepy guy with a sword," the White Rabbit said. She finally gave in to her wobbly knees as she fell onto them. Honestly, she never expected to be in a ten-foot radius of an event like that, nor does she believe she ever will be again. "As for the guy's condition.... I don't know. I was too scared to notice." She tilted the upper half of her body, bowing. "I'm sorry...."

(( Oh. xD I know what that's like. It's just as bad as trying to reply to a simple "lol".

I also know what that's like. I'm typing on my PS3. ._.' PS3 gives me character limits, for some dumb reason. ))

Zack leant over a little, so he could reach her, then brushed his hand against her head. He gave her a smile, though his eyes were worried. "Hey, there's no need to apologise! Just sit back for a while, okay?"

His gaze flew down to Zane, still passed out in his arms, and then back to her.

"Thank you for bringing Zane."

The White Rabbit lightly reacted to the touch, most likely because she was jumpy. "Um.... Okay. You're welcome." After a moment, she sat in the fetal position, hugging her knees.

Zack lifted up his brother's shirt to check the wound, and instead of groaning or going pale, just silently covered it back up again. He checked Zane's palm, which had split open when he'd tried to grab the sword; but, unlike his stomach, it had mostly healed over.

He looked up at the White Rabbit, the worry returning to his face when he saw her position. "...I think you should look away," he said softly, brushing Zane's hair off his face with one hand, without looking away from her.

The White Rabbit looked at him. After a moment, she nodded. She sat her feet to the side to drag the rest of her body to face that direction. She continued this until she had turned precisely 180

When he was sure she wasn't looking, Zack tugged the pocket mirror out of his brother's jeans. Zane's usual vanity usually came in handy at times like this.

He crushed it against the ground easily, sifting through the shards for one big enough to get a proper grip on.

The brunet braced himself, and then slashed at his wrist with the shard. He cried out automatically, the piece of mirror dropping out of his fingers, which were trembling... but, gritting his teeth, he hugged Zane closer to him, angling his injured wrist so the dark blood was dripping into his little brother's mouth.

"C'mon... Drink it, idiot..." he hissed, squeezing his eyes shut and trying to ignore the burning pain in his wrist.

The White Rabbit jumped at the sound of breaking glass and Zack's outburst.

Oh, what the poor, frightened rabbit would give for a bush....

 • Author

Zane groaned loudly what sounded like he was trying to call his brother a "ducking glass mole", but reached up, gripping too tightly at Zack's wrist, so his nails dug into the skin. He gulped hard, but after a few moments pushed Zack's offered arm away, pulling a face.

"You taste like crap," he complained.

"You fight like crap," Zack retorted, pushing Zane off his lap. "You realise I was choking up your blood out there because YOU abused it again?!"

They argued for quite a few minutes, and by the time Zack crawled over to the White Rabbit, the gash across his wrist was just a scar. "Hey... you sure you're okay?" he said, tapping her on the shoulder.

Behind him, Zane rolled his eyes.

The White Rabbit had jumped at Zack's tap. However, when she realized that everything was alright now, she relaxed her nerves. "I'm alright," she answered, giving a reassuring smile as proof.

 • Author

"Are you sure? You seemed really jumpy."

They said it in unison; but, whereas Zack was sincere about it, Zane was just chiming in to annoy his brother. His mocking tone told as much.

"I'm sure," the White Rabbit replied, grinning. "Honestly!"

 • Author

Zane leaned over, shoving an elbow on Zack's shoulder. "...So, what base did you get to before he scared you off?" he asked, voice bored, but smirking, especially when Zack went red and started protesting.

The White Rabbit turned around so she could face the brothers. "It was a scary man with a sword!" she exclaimed.
