January 29, 201411 yr Author "Yea..." Jack said, making his hair shaggy."They'll get us eventually... But let's give them a hell of a chase..." He sighed. "And I know it's not your fault, but still... At the goddamn game? In the GODDAMN STADIUM!?" He brought out cases of oil and some matches."I've packed some stuff ....as soon as you are ready..." " Yeah... I'm ready." He stood, wiping at his eyes: he might be over 200, but he was still a kid. " Let's go." ( Sorry, your's is JACK, I'm Jamie. )
January 29, 201411 yr "Alright..."' Jack said. "Go outside... It will be a minute." An hour passed. It was sad, about 300 years of history was in this house, and burning it down was heartbreaking. He wondered what his mom and dad would say... Nope, he thought, they wouldn't be his parents anymore... He'd heard of the other 'lost ones' of the family...
January 29, 201411 yr Author Jamie stood outside, watching Jack run back to the house out beyond the rest stop, the owner a Familiar that protected the family's secret. What would he do now? Jamie glanced up at the sun, blinking: Contrary to myth, sunlight was harmless in small doses, but COULD kill after three full hours exposure. With a woosh, the house went up.
January 29, 201411 yr "Come on..." He took out the car keys. "Let's go..." He went to the car outside the house, and sighed. He saw a bat conning up in the distance.
January 29, 201411 yr Author Jamie lagged, watching the house burn: wood sagged, windows blew out, curtains flared. " What..." He stopped, as the bat approached. " Get down! " He hissed, " It's dad! "
January 29, 201411 yr "Better idea." He said in a hushed tone, as to try and keep som semblance of secrecy. "Get in the car!" He started it up.
January 29, 201411 yr Author Jamie glanced back at the manor that had been his home, then hurried into the car. " Drive, Jack: For gods sake, drive!"
January 29, 201411 yr He started the car, and drove. Out of the back of his window, whilst looking in the rearview mirror. He saw his father looking at the destruction. "Well... Where too..." He would stop by one of his mortal friends, bu the whole 'Related to the cheer-killer' thing wouldn't go well.
January 30, 201411 yr Author Jamie cried silently, watching the house burn in the review. " I'm such a screw up... " He gazed out the window, refusing to look at his brother.
January 30, 201411 yr "Well..."' Jack said. "Yes," he sighed. He couldn't sugarcoat it. "Yes you are... But... You're my screwup. I promised mom I would protect you... Even if you ruined both of our lives, I have to keep my promise..." He kept on driving. 100 years of driving expertise world do that to a person.
January 30, 201411 yr Author " Don't bring mom into this!" Jamie cried, tears pouring hot and heavy down his cheeks, red as amber as they caught the light. He knew he acting irrationally, but it was hard: he was a killer. And now... everything was ending.
January 30, 201411 yr Jack kept on driving. It was a quiet drive. Moaning was not going to save them from THIER father...The mission for now is to drive to at least another state. There's a million Jacks and Jamie's in the world, so it would be hard to pinpoint them If they went far away... Yea... The car gurgled for gas in about 2hrs into the drive, and lucky him, a gas station was nearby. "You keep watch." He told his brother. Edited January 30, 201411 yr by DEADACCOUNT2333
January 30, 201411 yr Author Jamie sat, red streaks on his cheek, watching the cars pass in the still heat of the summer, sunlight glinting off hoods and windshields. They'd need cover soon: they'd been in the sun 2 hours already.
January 30, 201411 yr Jack looked around the gas store. He bought a couple of snacks. Not blood, but it didn't seem like there was a blood bank around anywhere... He took a map of the city he was in, and sought the nearest route to a hotel. He felt beaten already, the hours on the sun and the constant driving were to blame... He went back into the car. "Now..." He said to his younger. "We are going to stop at a hotel. Then, we think of a plan. Then, if were lucky? The plan will work, and we will be safe! Got it?"
January 30, 201411 yr "We will get something when we are safer." Jack sighed. His brothers thirst is what got them in this situation. He saw the hotel, and pulled up.
January 31, 201411 yr Author Jamie looked at the hotel; it wasn't classy, a real road side dive. " We're gonna be safe here, right?"
January 31, 201411 yr "I don't know..." Jack said, checking in. He had stolen a substantial amount of money for the house before it burned down. He opened the door, and sighed. "So... First things first!" He closed the blinds. That was a close call. He looked at Jamie. "Now that that's over... Let's think on a brainstorm of what we can do..."
January 31, 201411 yr Author " Well.... Uhmm..." Jamie scratched his head, trying to think. " Uhmm..." He didn't know any other vampire clan in the area, and most clans were feral anyway, scavangers, subspecies.... " We could...hide." He said lamely.
January 31, 201411 yr Jack sighed. "Yes, but where?" This was gonna be harder than expected, but he figured it would.
January 31, 201411 yr Author Jamie sighed, looking away, his throat burning. " I don't know. " He surprised himself by crying again: he might be over a century old, but he was only 17 when he'd become an immortal, Jack 19. He held his head in his hands, tears running hot and red down his pale cheeks. " This is all my fault.. i'm so stupid."
January 31, 201411 yr "Look..." Jack said to his little brother. "It is and isn't your fault... It is, because you refused to eat for all that time... It's not because I was too busy with my GF to stop you. " he got out a map. "But I don't forgive you.., your stupid lack of restraint got us in this goddam situation!" He slammed his fist on a nearby table.
January 31, 201411 yr Author Jamie jumped, watching a vein bulge in Jack's neck. " i'm sorry..." He whispered. " It's so hard....to control it. "
January 31, 201411 yr "God..." He laid down on the nearest bed. "Any one you know who would take us in?"
